There are few good things I can say about this series; good cinematography, good production design and good music. I live in Poland so I like the way they design how Warsaw will looks like in 30 years and creat a retro-futuristic city from those existing blocks from commie time.
The love-triangle plot is not new (imagine Pearl harbour set in 2023) and you could list like 157 movies/series that involve a dangerous Russian corporation working on a top-secret space project. Still with good writing, these storylines could be interesting and that's the problem because the screenplay totally sucks.
Imho, it all starts with the unconvincing character building. I can see a strong attempt to creat cool characters, unfortunately the result turns out to be the opposite and all the characters are unlikable, irrational and unstable. I don't understand why they do what they do and that makes them very difficult to root for.
Conversations are also unnatural, some scenes seem forced and characters behaviors so pretentious. There are so many questionable things in the series like all the characters still driving cars with diesel engines from 70-80's when it's supposed to be in 2050 something or the fact that the villainous Russian space corp head quarter looks more like a set for fashion photoshoot because it's full of young, model-beautiful and impeccably dressed scientists. I could go on and on about things that doesn't make sense in this series.
To sum it up, they've set up quite a nice background for the story, but then they ruined it all with bad writing.

... the plot isn't something well-written or very sophisticated.... it's a straightforward time complicated love-triangle.. production budget being quite high was a total waste for what was produced... and why on Earth would they choose an actor who's supposed to be his thirty year aged self, looking nothing like who he was when younger... to a point he's even nowhere near the same height which is ludicrous... and Magdalena Cielecka being a very attractive 50yo woman, how-why does she come off most times looking a worn-drawn-decade-older in this series
... as a Polish science-fiction romance-drama it falls waaaay short, and should have been made into a ninety-plus minute film, not painfully extended-over a multi-episode-series... one critic nails it saying... "If you're a fan of teen-love-triangle-dramas and have binged on-the-likes of Vampire Diaries, you'll probably enjoy the back-and-forth in this film between the main leads. Other than that, it is nothing that will interest adults looking for something with depth and meaning." ... hard-pass.

Oh, where to begin. In 2022, fighter pilots drive sports cars with cassette tape players.
In 2054 (or whatever date in the future), people are still smoking.
The main character's daughter has the stupidest piercing on her front lip.
The female characters in 2022, all seem stuck in a twiggy video where they wear sparkly face makeup from the 70s.
This is as if someone wanted to make a sci-fi show but then got distracted by trying to be a caricature of what a sci-fi show should be.
The acting is wooden and bad. The plot makes you seriously not care about what could be an interesting plot but it's not because it's bogged down by bad acting and even worse special effects.
Rather than playing up the sci-fi aspect of the show, they throw off the cool stuff to make it not even cool.
This is what bad sci-fi looks like when it's done by amateurs.

This show is basically just a polish night time soap opera. The story is weak. The dialogue is weak. The acting is decent. Good cinematography all around. Basically it's just about people looking for sex at dance clubs. The spy thriller element makes no sense so it's just filler I guess. I give it 3 stars for the dance club music and a few other good songs and some good passionate love scenes between girls and astronauts, I guess. I mean that's probably the plot line. Girls who like astronauts and like dancing and then after go somewhere for sex. I believe that's the main idea behind this show.

I don't get why everyone is so bent off about this show? It's literally labeled "sci-fi romance", and that's pretty much exactly what it is.
It's gorgeously shot, like truly. The effects are brilliant. It's one of the most realistic takes on the future/future technology (some aspects at least). I was also really impressed with the actors. The actors have good chemistry and the plot is unique. I think it is definitely worth the watch. There are a few plot holes and I definitely wanted more from the last episode. I think the show would have been even better if it were 8 episodes instead of 6. The buildup of the first 4 episodes was great, but it felt like they ran out of time and rushed the last two. Overall I genuinely enjoyed the show.

If you're counting on SF, you'll be disappointed.... it's a romance (just for teenagers) with a script written on the knee and scenes that often don't connect into the whole story... in the series we get a whole lot of absurd ideas... elite pilots who act like a bunch of teenagers on summer camp. F16 planes flying like in bad games from the 90s - this is such an important thread and the screenwriter has no idea about it! Overall rating strong 2/10 only because of the nice application (operating technical). It's a pity netflix ... once again you are pushing money into something that has no script!

The first episode seemed a bit boring so I almost switched off. The music and the photography kept on it and O found myself drawn back in.
More drama than SF as others have noted. Two guys, one girl and two time periods. The two guys are fighter pilots and incredibly competitive but are best friends, some of the time and the girl dances between the two. There are some plot holes but it is far from the worst I have seen.
The Russian subplot was a bit strange but it added a bit of colour although some of the acting there gets a bit overdone but the rest is ok and Nadia was good. The pilots are written a bit like two teenagers at times and you wonder why their characters have F16s to play with at work. On the other had: Top Gun and The Right Stuff.
Overall it looked pretty good. Some are critical of Future Warsaw looking too similar, especially the clothes. I felt that the changes were pretty good. It.was a bit too lucky how things worked so well when left for thirty years.
The ending is open but not necessarily a bad ting.

This had so many elements from the original Top Gun film but with a Polish space twist. I am prefacing my review with a qualifier in that I am not a fan of Science Fiction, my husband and most of my friends are however, which means I watch a lot of it...and enjoy very little (with few exceptions like the first season of Altered Carbon and Dark). I did enjoy this six episode Polish sci-fi series.
The story is told through two different timelines...2023 and thirty years later 2053. 2023 establishes a friendship and rivalry between two Polish elite fighter pilots (Niko and Bogodan), who are selected to participate in an international space program being run jointly by an Elon Musk-like character with money, Poland's Air Force, and Russian scientist. One of the pilots will be sent on a solo mission into space using a newly developed "stealth" technology and testing a cryogenic process all in preparation for an eventual trip to Mars. Niko and Bogdan couldn't be more opposite, Bogdan is disciplined and in control...training, not drinking, etc while Niko is wild and reckless getting drunk and playing the field. They both fall in love with the beautiful Marta who is DJ Stardust, newly arrived back from London and rooming with Niko's sister, Karolina. Mart seems to have trouble choosing between the two... In the 2053 storyline Marta and Bogdan have an adult daughter and have been married for 30 years. They seem to be having some struggles with their marriage when Niko's spacecraft arrives back on earth and he didn't die in an explosion like Marta and the world was lead to believe...and he hasn't aged a day!
I did read some of the criticisms of the film...I for one loved the soundtrack which had some great retro-songs in it like the appropriate Flock of Seagulls' "Space age Lovesong" and I didn't mind the classic cars with the tape deck, I didn't see it as a problem as I had an appreciation for them...oh! And people wear retro clothes all the time, like I do. My husband pointed out that it might have been a clever tool, since most of the items were at least 30 years old, to help you keep track of the fact that this storyline was 30 years in the past even though it is 2023 (and not 1983) and the "current" time is 2053. Whatever the point was I didn't mind it at all.
I enjoyed some of the ideas for the future...the cross walks, the household AI...and I really loved the stealth technology. When the space shuttle reappears out of stealth mode was great! The insect camera is cleaver...as were a few other ideas like drones moving the shipping containers...remote heart/health monitoring...and adaptive prosthetics...there were some interesting and imaginative technologies.
I enjoyed all the testosterone heavy similarities to Top Gun, sorry not sorry.
Some of the cinematography is absolutely wonderful...I don't know if it was filmed by drones or how it was done, but the sky is almost its own character. There are some interesting (if a little one dimensional) villains.
I loved the two-tone mosaic at the mission headquarters which depicts a man falling backwards in space maybe past a planet. Absolutely stunning!
I thought both actresses playing Marta were beautiful, young and old. (But this does bring me to a random musing...I have really only seen two Polish productions, this and all three 365DNI films, and in both contemporary Polish women are portrayed as rude, bratty, overindulging, alcohol abusing, drug using sexually permissive exhibitionists who end up deciding they want to prioritize themselves ((aka choosing themselves)). As a woman, I am hoping that isn't really what contemporary young Polish women are really like.) Also, what is the Polish fascination with motorcycles, particularly women driving motorcycles?
Overall, I enjoyed this series (except for the actual ending...which I felt was unnecessary and inappropriate. I also thought it was wrapped up too abruptly...like there might have been a bigger story with the stem cells and the girl with ALS.). I thought is was sexy and a great feast for the eyes. The story had a few hiccups (like the end), but I can overlook that because I enjoyed the rest as much as I did.

And boy was this series stupid.
Let's see if I can recap how terrible this really was.
First we have our trite, boring, and tiresome lovers' triangle. The three participants being:
Marta - An entitled, self-absorbed, vamp incapable of actually having any real feeling for someone else (though she fakes it pretty well at times).
Niko - Probably the worst of the three. A consummate narcissist and d-bag with no redeeming qualities. How Marta could even be interested in him boggles the mind.
Bogdan - The self righteous straight arrow. He was probably the least objectionable of the three, only because his character was a bit more complex and I couldn't completely figure him out.
Next come the events that happen in 2022. This consisted of macho and testosterone laced dialogues and actions that stunk to high heaven. After the first two episodes, I fast forwarded through most of these scenes so I could get to...
... the final entry; a mediocre and bland sci-fi element that wasn't all that interesting and had no real climax, but was, unfortunately, the best part of the entire series.
One thing that bothered me to no end (even though it was pretty minor) is the fact that in 2022, Bogdan is significantly taller than Marta. In 2052, they're almost the same size. A small thing, but it demonstrates the production teams lack of attention to detail.
All in all, this was a pretty painful viewing experience.

There were interesting characters that you want to care about. Some relationship dynamics were a bit hard to swallow as believable. It had an interesting plot concept and story line. But some of the bits and pieces of it were missing some continuity. I wasn't always sure of how many directions this was going in. However, I was invested in finding out who she chose. Not sure if the story would continue to be as interesting if there was a second season. Great cinematography and the effects were believable. It's really too bad it had to end as stupidly has it did. Vast disappointment unfortunately. It's was good til the last 5 minutes.

I am so glad I ignored all the negative reviews. I'm truly baffled why such bad reviews. I thought it was suspenseful, it kept me intrigued the whole time. I watched all of it within two days. The ending was bittersweet. It really was, but then, how could it be anything other than that with her having two loves. I'm not one to write reviews but I had to put something out there to give a more balanced perspective. All of the characters were well written and acted. The only thing "Top Gun" related at all was that the two main male characters were pilots. I did enjoy them showing off. For 6 episodes, this was wrapped up nicely without a cliffhanger. Well done. Forget the terrible reviews. Please give it a chance.

Look I'm not going to lie. I only semi-watched this in between doom scrolling on my phone.
And if I'm doom-scrolling then I'm not terribly engaged. I missed important details like what year it actually is because there's 80s stuff like cassettes and bad hair but then there's the blue/dark insta-filter stuff which is presumably the dystopian future, but it's a bit actually nicer than the rest of the Netflix dystopian futures on offer. There's alot of splicing past and present and a cornfield moment that makes for some lovely imagery.
I suspect this was about cinematography rather than storyline. I really should have paid attention to find out who everyone was too.
There's also an annoying toxic masculinity/frat boy vibe that reeks of Tom Cruise's sweaty cologne in Top Gun. The characters don't seem especially likeable. There was completely naked shagging in a carousel if that spins your wheels. This scores a 2 for the attractive visuals, but otherwise what seemed like a reasonable premise but totally failed to live up to it.

When I read the synopsis I immediately thought of the film " Castaway ", accept of course Tom Hanks was actually the husband, but anyhow, astronaut after 30 years returns to earth, the spin on the series was however more complex.
The complexity actually spoiled the whole series, mainly because Nico, the returning astronaut was not that great, and Bogdan the second so called love in Marta's life was not that great of a character either.
I thought that this series had great potential , but alas it made little sense. Marta's character seemed in some way artificial when it came to an honest relationship, certainly didn't make any sense when it came to her marital status. Could not see her lasting a few years with anyone never mind 30 years.
Bogdan had the personality of a dry bit of toast, even when Marta buttered it, he was not much better, he was like a school kid rather than a fighter pilot, I do repeat a fighter pilot.
At least Helen Hunt in Castaway showed a little more class. Overall I guess the storyline had some scope hence the 1 star, but to be honest 8 episodes is far too many for what could be squeezed into 3-4.
The ending pretty much summed up 8 tedious episodes, not worth sitting through them all.

One of the WORST serios I have ever seen. The story could have been a 120 minutes movies. They keepextendig it and extending it with no point. There is no big plot twist....nothing, just a never-ending snooze fest. The only way I would re-watch it is if I would have any troubble getting to sleep. It took me like to weeks to finish it because I kept falling asleep at it. There is no real dive in how the future world really looks like. There are some pointless ideas that go nowhere and are totally disappointing, like the mistery behind why or how the astronaut remained young for 30 years. It is just a stupid, cringy story about an old lady still in love with some guy she met for a month 30 years ago. I mean how dense can you be to have such an interesting premise about space hibernation and youth and you decide making the main focuse about an undecided old lady's feelings. HUGE opportunity missed to make an interesting sci-fi series. And the acting is terrible.

Don't waste 6 episodes of your precious time. I had to watch it all just to see it nose dive even more and to see how bad the ending was. Top Gun v interstellar v a James Bond villain and a title sound track reminiscent of Stranger Things.
How can a series with bad acting, an unimaginative script, bad storytelling even bad storylines.
I'm getting fed up of sub standard films and stories being thrown out at a rate of knots in Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount and sometimes Apple TV. It's not what I imagined paying my good money to.
Because we have all these films and series at the tip of our fingers, our attention span is shorter. We need instant stimulation, good storytelling, gripping storylines, not able to predict what happen next.
We can do better than this, can't we?

Have watched a few Polish Dramas in the past so thought I would give this a try and also usually love space themed and astronaut themed dramas in the past as well. The best thing about this series was the few plane scenes where you can get the feeling of a rush from speed and competition amongst buddies in the air. Other than that, the one ML (astronaut) has beautiful blue eyes, sexy look and just a sexy guy. Forget everything else. First, it was hard to go back and forth from past and present many times as the buddies were dressed in the same uniform and there were dim-lit scenes that made it difficult to distinguish to me at times who was who. Then trying to remember the young FL vs. The old FL (I just thought red hair vs. Blonde & bangs), etc . Went back and forth many times. And then the ending - no, no, no!!!!! That's all I will say on that.
