Life with Boys

I remember watching the full first season when it came out on Netflix. Maybe the second one, but I think that the first one might've been the only one I saw. Overall this show is stupid with unlikable characters.

There is one episode that I remember, and it is so bad I'm just gonna explain what basically happens.

The main girl has a crush on dude (actually they might've been dating but I forget). Nerd has a crush on the main girl. The main girl has to go out with Nerd because it would be polite. The moral of the episode is that even if you're a girl and you don't like someone but they like you, the polite and expected response is to go out with them. Somehow, I don't think that this is a message that young girls should be exposed to.

Other than that this show's "humor" heavily relies on negative stereotypes, and half the time don't make any sense. There's an episode where it implies that the three brothers used the bathroom at the same time - one used the toilet, one used the bathtub, and one used the sink. The father is way too stupid to function. That cliche doesn't work if he's supposed to be single and taking care of three kids. You can make characters funny without making them so stupid. The main character is really annoying, and so are her friends.

Life With Boys is a funny, witty and charming show for audiences of all ages. Unlike most shows aimed at the tween age group there is no over exaggerated plot points, the characters don't scream and shout at each other for no reason.The shows comedy elements always make me laugh and the one liners from each of the characters range from making me chuckle to laughing out loud. Again the show doesn't rely on screaming and shouting for laughs. The arguments between the four siblings are hilarious and some extremely funny lines come out in these moments.There is toilet humor in the show, however this is very minimal with a small amount of fart jokes and use of the word 'Butt'. There is the use of a made up word 'Shming' in the show with substitutes for actual swearing in one episode, which unlike other shows aimed for the age group is much more appropriate than using words like 'Skunkbag'.

This is also the first show I have seen since the days of 'Saved By The Bell', despite that being aimed at an older age group, to actually deal with some issues teenagers face. These issues range from the minor, sharing one bathroom to fighting over a girl/boy to the more major, pressures of being popular and cool to smoking. A whole episode deals with the issue of becoming popular by smoking and it come across very well and remains funny throughout. Said episode is also handled very well, we see the cigarettes in the hands of several of the characters, but never see them smoke, tho it is implied they have. The fact that this show deals with issues like smoking, rather than possibly going to space is one I personally really appreciate.

Final thoughts: The three boys Gabe, Sam and Spencer over all together steal the show and adds a lot to its charm. Unlike most shows for the age group it does the opposite and has more boys than girls. Overall Life With Boys is an amazingly funny, charming show with some good role models and morals that never fails to make me smile and laugh with every episode.

Before I begin, I should tell you that I'm a MASSIVE Nickelodeon and Disney Channel sitcom fan. A few years ago I came across this show accidentally by channel surfing, and since I was a big fan of That's So Raven and Cory in the House, I spotted Madison Pettis straight away and decided to watch the rest of the episode. I was eventually hooked!

I believe that this show is incredibly underrated. You can tell that they borrowed elements from That's So Raven (which makes sense because one of the executive producers of that show executive produced THIS show as well), which I absolutely love. It's a pretty funny show, and I don't laugh at a lot of sitcoms (as ironic as that is).

I feel like if it wasn't for its country of origin, the show could've been a lot bigger. It could've spanned on for four seasons easily. It's a shame that the show got cancelled out of the blue. I would've loved the series finale to be Tess, Allie and Sam leaving for college. Like I said, it is completely underrated and it deserved a proper ending.

I really love Life With Boys. It is really a gem. It is the first show after so many years that gives people lessons about life. To me, this is what Girl Meets World would be like and I really think this show has already filled that role of showing life through a girl's point of view. Let me just say first I love watching shows old and new. It doesn't matter to me for sitcoms if they're going to be taking the roles of a parent or if they will simply be there to make you laugh. But I love that Life With Boys fills the role I already mentioned. I love how Allie, a popular girl, isn't the main character of the show as sometimes it can be that way in tween/teen sitcoms. But she and Tess are such sweet friends. It's adorable. Tess is a good character too! I love the theme song. As of right now it's in my head! I love the family. There's not much for me to say but you can see that they're a good family. As the show goes on it gets better and better. It really does! Right in their first season, they got really serious when Sam feels pressured to smoke. I also love how in the Valentine's Day episode, they promote girls that don't need a guy to make their Valentine's Day special. I don't have much more to add since the show is still going but I am just so happy that YTV made such a good show and now it's airing on Teen Nick in America! Life With Boys and Reba, I found are shows that prove two things. One, that shows after the 90's don't suck just because there isn't millions of sitcoms preaching. And two, they are truly two good gems of a show, in terms of a sitcom that teaches you things as how parents should. Life With Boys is perfect. It's a great Canadian show from the channel YTV, a special show and therefore a rare gem in today's world because the writers have decided to show us life from a girl's point of view while in the form of a sitcom. A perfect ten!

Our family has enjoyed watching all the episodes of Life with Boys. The good one liners make the whole family laugh. The situations that the characters find themselves in are true to life and offer some very funny solutions. This show offers a new perspective on how teenage boys think and deal with their day to day existence. This show reminds me of a show I used to watch growing up which was called The Facts of Life. All the characters are interesting and seem to really have a good chemistry together. The lead character seems to be fearless and has really funny facial expressions. My son enjoys all of the funny antics that happen between the 3 brothers. My daughter enjoys all the shows and laughs when the characters find themselves in silly situations. I think the shows are getting better as the season progresses. I always enjoy the ending of each show as they end each show with a very funny skit.
