Jay Harrington and Patrick St. Esprit are set to reprise their original roles from CBS’ S.W.A.T. in the show’s spinoff series S.W.A.T. Exiles, reteaming with Shemar Moore in the pilot episode. Harrington and St. Esprit played Sergeant David ‘Deacon’ Kay and Commander Robert Hicks, respectively, in the mothership series.
The news will be a welcome surprise for fans, who have been heartbroken and outspoken since their early exits from S.W.A.T., and learning later from Harrington that he was unaware of the offshoot until a day before the media announcement, when Moore texted him.

Who was Bryan Cranston before he became a drug lord and Malcolm’s dad? He was the legendary Apollo 11 lunar module pilot, Buzz Aldrin, portrayed in HBO’s Tom Hanks-produced miniseries, From the Earth to the Moon. It was based on Andrew Chaikin’s book, A Man on the Moon. The show takes its title from Jules Verne’s 1865 sci-fi novel From the Earth to the Moon.
It wasn’t officially stated why Cranston was selected for the role, but the actor certainly had the technical precision of Aldrin while also showing his human side. However, Cranston played Aldrin for only one episode in the show, Mare Tranquillitatis.

Shonda Rhimes has claimed that there are genuine jitters in the U.S. that network storytelling is being self-censored during Donald Trump’s second term in office.
The creative powerhouse behind Bridgerton and Grey’s Anatomy said she could not comment directly on the decision-making processes that led to Paramount and Disney settling separate lawsuits with Trump, but confessed: “It definitely feels that way to a lot of people, that there is self-censoring going on.”
Appearing in front of an enraptured audience at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Rhimes said she was not stifling her own storytelling instincts, saying she still has the power to “make the shows that matter to me.”
In an interview with Mishal Husain, the former BBC Radio 4 Today show host, Rhimes — who has supported a string of Democrats, including Kamala Harris — reflected on quitting the Kennedy Center’s board in February after Trump appointed himself as chairman.

UnPrisoned was cancelled after the release of only two seasons on Hulu. The streaming platform decided that UnPrisoned will not be returning for a third season, but did not release an official statement citing concrete reasons for doing so.
Neither Hulu nor anyone from the production team or cast has officially revealed the reasons for cancelling the show. The combined context, including strategic choices, perceived promotion issues, and industry norms, likely influenced the decision not to renew it for Season 3.
Season 2 concluded with Paige finally finding love with Mal when the latter showed up and admitted to having broken up with Ava because he still loves her. Edwin decides to move forward with his catering business and also has a heartfelt conversation with Finn. Just when the Alexander family was getting better, Paige’s biological mother showed up, complicating things once again.

Listen, if you’re Team Jake. Or hell, even if you’re Team Edison (they do exist!), I need everyone to really think about which man it was always going to be for Olivia Pope.
Whether you liked it or not, she was forever tethered to one man and one man only: Fitzgerald “Fitz” Grant III.
Rewatching the series back now has only strengthened my belief that, at the end of the day, Olitz was simply just meant to be.
(Hulu/Screenshot)
If you’re screaming in righteous indignation right now, keep screaming, of course, but the thing about it is that you never deny that Olitz chemistry.
It’s one of those rare television pairings that works on every single level: quality acting, intense on-screen connection, and open rapport.
You can not manufacture the kind of on-screen connection Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn had.

[This story contains major spoilers from season two, Vol. 2 of The Sandman.]
In his final episode of The Sandman, Lord Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) a.k.a. Dream of the Endless, the cosmic being who controls all dreams, delivers an ominous warning to his inner circle: “For the realm to survive, for each one of you to survive, any threat to the Dreaming must be destroyed.”
The most immediate threat to the land of dreams was, of course, none other than the supreme leader himself, whose decision to spill family blood by mercifully killing his only son, Orpheus (Ruairi O’Connor), drew the ire of a trio of goddesses known as the Furies. Adapted largely from The Kindly Ones, the penultimate collection of the creator Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics, the second volume of the Netflix fantasy drama’s final season explores the consequences of Dream’s actions.

Elsa Ramo isn’t easily spooked. Through a combination of scrappiness, savvy and determination, she’s grown her eponymous Los Angeles-based law firm Ramo from two employees to more than 50 over the course of the last 20 years, working on deals encompassing everything from securing underlying IP rights to financing and distribution to AI best practices. Along the way, it’s attracted a long list of high-profile clients, from top independent studios and financiers (Bondit Media Capital) to celebrity production companies.
But something inside Ramo snapped when her Brentwood neighborhood received an evacuation order during the Palisades Fire in January. Wracked with stress about the safety of herself, her husband and their two young children, then ages 7 and 10, and the fate of their home, she decided to pull out of the deal for the firm’s new office space, the one she’d spent two years searching to find. Netflix finally has a replacement for HBO's Big Little Lies with The Hunting Wives. Both series are based on bestselling novels and follow women with dark secrets.
The Hunting Wives premiered on Netflix on Jul. 21. Based on May Cobb's series of the same name, the new series follows a woman as she moves with her family from Boston to Texas and gets close to a group of women with unexpected hobbies. Following its release, The Hunting Wives debuted with an encouraging 70% approval score from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new drama series' score might not be the best, but it comes from only 10 reviews. Out of all of them, seven are positive, and most are based on three hours of footage out of the eight episodes. Since the series debuted on Netflix recently, there is no audience score available.
However, the early reaction from the critics is positive.

Former Scandal star Columbus Short’s wife, Aida Abramyan-Short, has been granted a temporary restraining order against her husband.
On July 14, Aida filed for a temporary restraining order against Short, alleging that he had acted violently with her as recently as last week. In court filings, Aida claimed that on July 7, she was doing laundry when a drunk Short snapped at her and put his hands on her.
Aida said Short yelled at her, “Don’t slam the f—ing door b—-. Your mouth is gonna get you in trouble! Shut the f— up!” He proceeded to push her, grab her, and shake her with both hands around her neck. Aida said a neighbor called the police after hearing her scream, “My husband is choking me, help!”

50-year-old Andy Byron may have successfully earned the position of being the current CEO of Astronomer, a leading New York-based data infrastructure company, but he is currently in troubled waters.
According to reports from TMZ, the latest turn of events has been unfortunate for him as well as Hr head Kristin Cabot, as both are reported to have been suspended. This comes in the wake of their alleged affair getting exposed when the two were snapped getting pretty cozy with a hug on the ‘Kiss Cam’ at a recent Coldplay concert.
While the CEO and Head of Hr are currently being speculated to be guilty of a workplace affair, what’s shocking is that Byron is still married to Megan Kerrigan Byron and has children. Kerrigan works as an Associate Director of Lower School and the Hope of Graham Program admissions at the Bancroft School in Massachusetts.

Shonda Rhimes‘ political thriller Scandal aired its finale, Over a Cliff, in 2018. Unfortunately, this finale left much to be desired, particularly regarding one of the show’s standout characters, Jake Ballard. He certainly did not receive the ending he deserved. Over the seven seasons, Jake evolved into one of the most morally complex characters in the show.
While nearly every other character walked away with some form of peace and redemption, Jake was shoved into a prison cell and left to rot. The show’s ending still stings. Re-watching Scandal on Netflix makes me realize Jake Ballard wasn’t just mistreated – in fact, he was used as a convenient plot punching bag.

Based on the first trailer for After the Hunt, Luca Guadagnino looks to have made his most Oscar-friendly film since Call Me by Your Name. Written by Nora Garrett, the #MeToo thriller, starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloë Sevigny, concerns a sexual assault scandal at a university, and the trailer is unnervingly fixated on how more than just words are weaponized in such academic settings.
Per the logline, “After the Hunt is a gripping psychological drama about a college professor (Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.”
After the Hunt open in NY and LA on October 10, before expanding on October 17.

The political drama Scandal began to air in 2012 and continued until 2018. A couple of seasons down the line, Shonda Rhimes and the rest of her team made the executive decision to change the show's name from Scandal to The Fixer. To date, Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope remains a class act—right up there with other Shonda Rhimes creations like Viola Davis’s Annalise Keating from How to Get Away with Murder and Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey from Grey’s Anatomy.
Fans can now watch Scandal on Netflix starting June 17 and follow the fixer’s complicated relationship with the President of the United States, Fitzgerald Grant, while she leads her team of Gladiators to war, supporting and fighting for her powerful clients by any means necessary.

After her extensive success with the ABC series Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and Station 19, Rhimes made a multi-year deal with Netflix and pivoted to the streaming platform, where she has helped create more beloved series in the ever-expanding roster of Shondaland shows.
The most popular of Rhimes' Netflix shows is Bridgerton, which is entering its fourth season, and there is a Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story spinoff as well. Rhimes also produced Inventing Anna for Netflix, which tells the shocking true story of con artist Anna Delvey. Now, Rhimes' latest Netflix show has been canceled.

Netflix has canceled a pair of first-year series, The Residence and Pulse.
The two shows both premiered in the spring and had four-week runs in Netflix’s internal, worldwide top 10 rankings, with The Residence lasting a bit longer than than in Nielsen’s U.S. streaming charts. As usual, Netflix does cost-benefit analysis in making renewal or cancellation decisions.
The Residence is a White House-set murder mystery starring Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, the “greatest detective in the world.” The series hails from Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland and creator/showrunner Paul William Davies (Scandal). Had the series gone forward, the plan was for it to become an anthology with Cupp taking on a new case each season.
The cast for the first (and now only) season also features Randall Park, Giancarlo Esposito, Susan Kelechi Watson, Edwina Findley, Bronson Pinchot, Mary Wiseman, Julieth Restrepo, Al Mitchell, Mel Rodriguez, Ken Marino, Jason Lee and Jane Curtin,...

In today’s world, whether you’re watching soap operas, comedies, dramas, procedurals, or reality television, shipping is a part of your viewing experience.
Romantic pairings have become more than just side stories for a primary character or something that a few fans dissect, but largely stay out of the main conversation. They are no longer niche obsessions.
For many shows, those who ship make up a large demographic of people tuning into a show. These are the people who strike up conversations, can drive engagement, and in some cases, they can even influence the narrative.
(Virginia Sherwood/Peacock) Alexa, What Is Shipping?
I doubt you’re unfamiliar with what it means to be a shipper or what shipping entails. However, let me give you a crash course.
Shipping is simply a word to describe people’s desire to see characters, both fictional and real, engage in a romantic relationship.

Melissa Fumero is mourning the cancellation of Grosse Pointe Garden Society after the dramedy was axed by NBC after just one season. The actress took time on Saturday to say goodbye to her character via Instagram.
“Oh, Birdie. You were one for the books,” she wrote. “You felt like an amalgamation of every role I’ve ever played. I’ll miss so many things about this job, but most of all I will miss the incredible group of humans it brought together. I won’t miss the shoes. It’s really hard to make a show. Even harder to keep it on air.
