I Can't Breathe (God Forgive Them)

This movie was very gripping and disturbing at the same time. I felt such empathy and sadness for the victim for all he had to endure, and such disdain for the ignorance of the police officers involved, May God forgive them. I hope every law enforcement agency would require cadets to see this movie prior to joining the force. The sad part about it is that there are still police officers that behave this way in every city in every state. All my prayers and support to the victim and his family and pray that they may have a blessed life from here on in. I can't wait to see the final outcome I just see that justice is restored.

I'm sorry, I really wanted to give this flick a chance, seeing that it was produced locally. But really? Titling your film "I Can't Breathe" in the wake of the George Floyd tragedy? I understand that this film was meant to be an analogy for the story of Job, but it seems like a glaring oversight on so many fronts.

This Story is about my husband's life who I am Married to for 22 years. I happen to meet him right after the incident, I can testify to the trauma that he lived after this happened to him. He pursued the truth for over 20 years, just to have the truth told so people would know not to fear death and that there is God and an afterlife. The ambulance reports show he was dead, the police reports say ambulance was called for an officers wrist. The ambulance report says, they were called to bring life support system. We tried 4 lawyers for over 60k not one questioned the police. Then my husband had cancer, depression years later he tried again 2009 he wrote a book about the incident 15k more wasted. But he never gave up, a script writer loved the story ( Johnny Murillo) and wrote the first script for free 10 years ago. 50k later and 6 years wasted by two crooked producers The script found a way to Kevin Sorbo. He loved the story and 3 years later we finally made the movie. We trust God our Father for his help to give us justice, we spent so much time, money, 1000's of emails and calls to finally have his story told. We have evidence of what happened that night that no lawyer even bothered to get, police reports saying I was in cuffs 25 minutes, pepper sprayed 4 times as they thought they had an armed burglar who was breaking into million dollar home in one of Boca Ratons wealthiest developments Boca Grove. Of course the rich snooty people there didn't want my story out, but we won't give up till the truth is told. My husband passed a lie detector test and we offer 100k for the officers to talk. The Epoch times did a huge article in Fla but police still.refuse to comment. Would we be going through all this for so long if it weren't true?

I like the way the movie starts out with action, and I have seen the ambulance reports, saying they needed to bring emergency life support system and hospital reports saying he was admitted to ICU. The man has been posting those reports on Linkedin and Facebook, along with deposition from the security guard on duty that night, stating the guard heard Mr Laresca screaming I CANT BREATHE, YOUR KILLING ME, and I AM DYING. He also showed police reports that say they called the ambulance because an officer hurt his wrist, pretty big contradiction with ambulance reports right there. So if I were put into intensive care by the police, and hired lawyer after lawyer without the police being questioned, I wouldn't let it go either. He also wrote a book about it in 2009, worked as a trader on Wall Street for 25 years, never guilty of a crime in his life, why weren't those police questioned? Sounds like the exclusive development in Boca Raton where this happened did not want this story out. Also why would the man offer 100K for the police to finally talk? If they weren't guilty why not talk, I would talk about anything if I was innocent, especially for 100K.

Excellent story! The passion and effort that went into creating this is amazing. Tom Laresca is an incredible person- so kind and genuine. He has worked very hard for a long time to share this story on a larger level. I was fortunate enough to hear the story directly from Tom and the movie is just as good! It is so amazing to be able to see it played out visually. The quality of the filming and acting is excellent- likely because everyone who had a part in this truly understands how important this story is. I highly recommend you take the time to watch this movie and share it with others. Thank you to all involved!
