So, I saw that RT gave this 0%. That's 1. Harsh and 2. Not warranted. This movie seemed "stuck" - between being a family film, and being a Broken Lizard production. However, Broken Lizard makes definitely R rated films (although their TV show, Tacoma FD, was definitely family friendly). In this, Steve Lemme played a rather good family man. Actually, this was surprising, for me to see this of him. The best part of the film, though, was tied between the cartoon intertitles, and the dog.

On the other side, some of the supporting characters were actually caricatures - as if cartoon characters come to life. This was distracting.

However, all in all, it wasn't the worst.

I can't believe they got so many "actors" to take money to play such moronic characters, the worst being the apartment manager, Ms. Willinger (Janet Ulrich Brooks), obscenely overacted. This could have been a decent movie if the writers and director would not have spent so much effort in distracting the viewers with stupidity. When will the makers of so-called "family" movies realize that they can't tug at the heart at the same time they crap on your brain! That said, I should also say that the little girl, Rylie Behr, was cute in her role as long as it was just her, Dad and the dog in the scene. She was one of the few people in this movie given a sane character to play. Hope she finds something more worthy of her talents in the future.

Very cute, it started very cute, but then it became boring, and boring from the middle to the end, when the focus stopped being the girl and the father to focus on the puppy's gimmicks, not so charismatic, and with characters not so cute ... Boring...
