"The Alien Girl" is absolutely devoid of gangster romance.

There are basically no positive heroes here. "The Alien Girl" is about pain. Solid losses and betrayals.

One way or another, the film is addictive and has an interesting adventure plot in this cruel road movie.

I would like to separately note Kirill Polukhin and Evgeny Mundum, their charisma and appearance can hypnotize you, like a cobra.

I really enjoyed charismatic actors, shooting scenes, oppressive atmosphere and the ending.

I would like to separately note the opening scene of the film.

"The Alien Girl" is a decadent road movie whose road ends in hell.

After a mob war in Ukraine leaves several people dead, one of the Russian hitmen named "Babai" (Aleksandr Golubkov) is caught and subsequently sent to prison. Fearing that he may turn state's evidence to avoid the death penalty, the mob boss known as "Rasp" (Evgeniy Mundum) decides to send four men to Prague to abduct Babai's sister, "Angela" (Natalya Romanycheva). Although they are told that she went to Prague two months earlier on her own, the truth of the matter is that Rasp had her sent there to avoid implicating him for another crime and only wants her back long enough to ensure Babai's silence. After that he plans on killing her once Babai's death sentence is carried out. So even though she desperately wants to be freed from her current captors in Prague who are intent on forcing her into prostitution, she has no illusions about what awaits her upon returning to Ukraine. That being the case, she decides to use all of her feminine wiles to extricate herself from her current predicament at any cost. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a dark and violent picture which captured the seemy side of Eastern Europe in an earthy manner unlike so many films made in Hollywood today. The acting was solid and the plot had several twists and turns which kept my attention throughout. Above average.

This is a straightforward gangster movie set in Eastern Europe. A few soldiers of a crime boss are sent to retrieve a girl in another country. Suffice to say not everything works out exactly as planned. This movie has strong interpersonal relationships that the action revolves around, leading to a fairly well executed conclusion. Nothing too outlandish appears in this film, but it is a very solid watch. Great directing, and good acting from all the actors involved. The action is gritty and well done. It has a distinct mood, often portraying the bleakness associated with the gangster lifestyle and there is some sparse dark humor. The pacing is good, the story is intriguing enough, good dialogue, and overall good film. 7/10
