The graphics are insane in this. Feels like real life. Ok so ppl...this is a TECH DEMO!!!....showcasing we're we are at in the state of video games...it's purely to demo what the Unreal engine can n will do for the VG industry....this demo is a major leap from we're we were...to we're we are now...the seamless transition from movie to game is.... UNREAL!!!!... I'm extremely excited to see what the UE 5 does in the future...there's nothing out right now tech or game that comes anywhere close to this...Matrix changed how we look n see movies...now UE5 changes how we see n interact in Video games...very exciting....great work UE5...groundbreaking....touché!!! I never though graphics could get better then gta 5 but I am definitely wrong how did they even create this masterpiece.
'The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience (2021)' is more of a tech demo than an actual game. It consists of two sections: a scripted car chase and an open-world city. The experience only has very simple gameplay, with the car chase being entirely on rails and the city segment lacking any meaningful interaction, but the thing isn't really about the gameplay. Instead, as its title suggests, it's a showcase for its engine. Its real-time graphics are stunning, especially when it comes to destruction and lighting, and the amount of detail that's crammed into the surprisingly large environment is truly impressive. The piece allows you to tweak things such as traffic amount and sun rotation, which further conveys the brilliance of the engine's real-time features. It's really only thanks to the power of the PS5 that the thing even runs at all (its frame-rate does drop significantly if you crash into several cars at once, but it holds up everywhere else). The narrative is a bit odd and overly meta (perhaps an appropriate taste of what's to come in 'The Matrix Resurrections (2021)?), but it only really serves as an excuse to show off UE5's impressive new features and it does that well enough. Though there isn't much to do, the demo is still worth experiencing. Plus, you'll get even more out of it if you're into games design or games art. It's perhaps a little underwhelming as a game, but as a tech demo it's awesome. 6/10.
Stellar graphics, let's just start there. The entire game is so realistic looking, and the opening sequence of your shooting incoming cars is quite fun, but at the end of the day, this is a demo, no if, ands, or buts. The amount of material this game has is lacking, especially once you hit the open-world portion of the game.
I loved this intro though. So cool they got both Keanu and Carrie to come back to their roles as Neo and Trinity, but the story is... well almost non-existent which makes this a bit hard to recommend as a must play for Matrix fans. It certainly is good, and Matrix fans will sure dig it. I mean, this is just a Unreal Engine 5 demo so the fact they decided to make it a sort of standalone Matrix game was neat. I just was very disappointed in the ending, as there really isn't an end at all, but it's just open world where you can go to certain markers and adjust/enhance graphics and stuff like that to see Unreal Engines full capability's. If you can somehow find this now defunct demo, I'd suggest giving it 10 minutes of your time since it's very short, fun, and shows how cool video games are going to look in the near future.

A rehash of the original series , replaying other scenes from other parts of the matrix , 2 hours + of dross , plot is beyond belief , characters that you don't care about , Reeves should have stayed away and let them use CGI to save his fee , ignore unless you are a die for matrix fan , out of 10 , minus 20.
I have to say how very impressed I was with the graphics. Normally a character would look computer generated but not this time. During the very short gameplay, I was amazed at how much Neo and Trinity looked. They didn't look CGI at all but fully fleshed people. I honestly hope that this becomes a full game one day.
