Chloe and Mackenzie are high school friends who go hiking after Chloe's dad dies. They hook up with some random guys near the campsite and Mackenzie comes back home ALONE! What happened to Chloe? That's what her mother and aunt want to know. Good script and acting filmed in beautiful Manitoba! Recommended!

The day after Chloe leaves for the cottage, Shannon runs into Mackenzie's father, Pete, who thinks Mackenzie is with Chloe. Worried Chloe is in danger, Shannon learns she is playing "Game of 72," a challenge where participants must successfully disappear alone in the woods for 72 hours. Shannon is convinced her daughter would never be reckless enough to play a game like this, but as she becomes increasingly suspicious of Mackenzie and others, she decides to take matters into her own hands to find Chloe before it's too late.

A decent mix of mystery and survival drama, the mystery being how Chloe end up at the bottom of the mountain, injured, and the survival bit is how she tries to get out of her predicament- her mother is determined to find her. There's plenty of scenic forest view, some good dose of suspense and drama.

It's a Lifetime thriller. There is the basic bones of this type of thriller. The acting is pretty basic. I don't know these actors. The filmmaking is TV movie level. There is a mystery to the premise, but the drama stays limited. The movie is unable to raise the tension. In the end, it is far too basic and it is unable to be more than Lifetime.
