I have made no secret of liking the Barbie movies, they are not perfect and none of among my favourite movies, but they are cute and have a sense of fun. A Mermaid Tale is no exception. The animation is really lovely, beautiful colours and gorgeous underwater sequences, and the music is catchy. The dialogue has its corny parts but is generally sweet and has its heart in the right place, the story is on the clichéd and rushed side but again it means well and is charmingly told and the characters while not much different from characters in other Barbie movies are still likable, especially Merliah's cute little friends. The voice work is still going strong, with Kelly Sheridan continuing to grow and very engaging throughout. All in all, not one of my favourite Barbie movies, but very nice all the same. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Coming from a classic Barbie lover I thought this movie was alright. The whole underwater fashion stuff is beyond my interest but it's good otherwise. If you're a classic Barbie movie fan I suggest watching this at least once and get into watching the second movie because it's better.

I think this movie was well made. It's got a fun adventure aspect and some nice characters. It tells a great story with a great lesson. It is very silly as most Barbie movie are. Is it as good as other Barbie movies? No. But it's definitely worth it.

The only thing that bothered me the most was that when Merliah was talking with her friends and Zuma at the beach and was angry about Oceana and her dreams of becoming a champion surfer and attempting to smash her necklace, it was really an ugly sight for me to see. It was a side of her I've never seen before which was why I do my best to avoid this scene.

I give this a movie a 6.5. The storyline is good and I enjoyed following it. Barbie who is Merliah in this film is a great character. I loved all the magic and adventure this movie had to offer.

Who I don't like are the characters Kayla and Xylie. I found them to be annoying and distracting.

All in all, it's not the best Barbie movie, but it's still fun and at least worth a watch.

I like the story on how merliah summer found out her real identity and save the ocean

When I was gonna rewatch it, I thought it was going to be very good. Now that I've watched it, let me say: This movie is not that good. Barbie is fine, but the other characters don't feel that important other than the mom. I wish that there was a bit dramatic fight scenes, though I know this is a Barbie movie, but yeah. The only characters that weren't that annoying was Barbies friends, Snouts, and the mom, I don't really have anymore to say. But remember, this is MY OPINION! Thanks.

Hear me out. This film is not your classic Barbie film. But. It is truly my favorite one. The storyline is like the most interesting out of every film in the franchise. I've watched this like a zillion times, I haven't been bored ONCE. Adore it!

Barbie is a child of two worlds who returns to her underwater home to fight with an evil family member - it's literally Aquaman solo movie.

Love it. It is so good and the best movie I have ever seen. My favorite character is the seal, its so cute and funny! I only wish that it had drowned in the cave.

This movie was overall excellent. The character Merliah had good character development and the storyline was easy to follow. The two sister ribaldry was interesting as well

Mermazing, wow, just wow. This movie provokes emotions within me i didn't know i had. It created a new perspective for life within me which i lacked beforehand, but now it has shown me my true self and to NOT be ashamed by it or that im a misfit. I can't believe it took me 17 years of being alive to witness such a beautiful movie. The acting, the music, the cinematography, every aspect of it was jaw dropping and tail wagging. (And toe lickin ;)) I truly enjoyed watching this mesmerizing masterpiece. This is the greatest hour and a half i've ever watched. I will be recommending this to my grandchildren, Aldo and Stwet, when they're born eventually. And if they're born misfits with tails, i won't judge them. I will make sure i embrace them, and they won't judge themselves.

Very cute, this one had been left behind when I marathoned all the Disney movies, this one probably wasn't on the list, colorful, beautiful graphics, although very well written, full of magic and adventure, a few little songs (thank goodness), cute script, with educational messages of love, friendship, hope and kindness, like all its predecessors and successors, it is impossible not to be enchanted...
