Best Geezer

Spence and Smith's script leans into character work, as alluded to above. The focus is on Billy and Neil, but Dave and Sue figure prominently. It reminded me of Guy Ritchie's early films with their large casts of bizarre yet believable folks hovering around a plot that revels in matter-of-fact absurdity. There's a certain looseness to the narrative that belies a solid structure. What I mean is the film never loses momentum over its nearly two-hour runtime even as it takes little detours to deliver character beats. Much of the comedy is derived from the hapless nature of the leads, but the movie is never mean-spirited. On the contrary, the tone is deliberately uplifting in spite of the friends' various troubles. It's unabashedly wish-fulfillment cinema that fits right in with the recent kindcore movement. I also want to note that it seems to be a period piece in that we're operating in a timeframe where flip phones and print media are still prominent. In some ways, that makes the film feel almost ahistorical, though.

BEST GEEZER is a sweet geezer comedy about 3 Essex island guys who decide to make a movie and fund it any way they can. The 3 lead characters aren't particularly business savvy, but win us over with their ambition and dreams. They are us. And we love them for it. Surrounding the 3 guys, there are a slew of other hapless blokes with dreams, but the ones pulling the strings and coming off with smarts and abilities are the women. So ladies, don't bypass this film! It's an all-round good-fun romp through a Southend island community full of heart, comedic shenanigans, and hope. SEE THIS FILM AS SOON AS YOU CAN!! Highly recommend.

Absolutely love this film. From the Directors and writers of the award winning film Casting Kill comes a classic comedy that will have you chuckling throughout, especially if you hail from Essex UK. This film, like its predecessor, Casting Kill, has won awards and has been selected for the Skiptown Playhouse National Film Festival West Hollywood.

The story follows 3 hapless 'Geezers', fed up with making corperate videos from their shop in Canvey Island Essex, who decide to try their hand at making a Geezer film worthy of being shown at the Geezers awards. It features some top performances from a relatively unknown cast who nail every comical moment that you'd expect from the cast of Only Fools and Horses. The script is well written, well directed and well delivered and I can only see a bright future ahead for all involved. This film has already won awards and I am sure many more are to come. The only questions you will be left with is, what is a GEEZER and what makes a GEEZER. Because this is the best GEEZER movie you'll ever see.

Wow this film takes you on an emotional roller coaster following the dopey trio of friends who run their own corporate filming company aptly named "canvey video extra" and their dreams to make it big in the movie world and make their own "Geezer" movie . You can see this pokes fun light heartedly at the gangster flick genre and the comedic stereotypes. You really get involved with the characters Neil , Billy , Dave and Billy's wife Sue. Jed is a wonderful stereotypical character of the Geezer world with his bright orange tan and whiter than white teeth with his funny entourage to. You will laugh you will feel your heart warmed and you will find yourself rooting for the trio to get to the top accolade of the filming world and win a "Geezer" the gangster flick version of an Oscar! I won't spoil it for you but it's a must watch and it's something light hearted no hidden agendas and a film you can get lost in and just enjoy . This is the best comedy I've seen in a while!

Best Geezer is a good attempt at making a comedy. It's hard to keep an audience on their seat but this feature doesn't seem to do that at times. Felt like it was too long to make a story like this however it was good to say the least. Average actors, some shine, some don't. Give it a watch cause it's worth it.
