Moomins - Um Cometa no Ceu Azul

We decided to check out "Moomins and the Comet Chase" as it was a new release and I remember loving a Moomins book I had as a child! It did not disappoint.

When Muskrat explains that mysterious changes in Moominvalley spell doom and gloom, the curious Moomintroll and friends set off to find out the truth from the scientists at the observatory.

The characters are delightful, despite the somewhat dark and existential themes. For the most part I think this film can be enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds. The messages of striving for knowledge and facing challenges with bravery are universal.

Unsurprisingly, the voice cast is superb and give the perfect Moomins tone to the film. The animation style is different than what is commonly seen, which I enjoyed as it gave the movie a unique feel.

Overall I would recommend this film to just about anyone!

I've loved the Moomins for over 60 years and was greatly looking forward to this film. Unfortunately it did nothing for me. It just didn't register at all, unlike the cartoons and TV series I remember from years ago.

If I were reviewing it from a child's point of view, I would probably give it a much higher mark. I would think many children would enjoy it.

So although it grew on me a little during my viewing, it had none of the magic I'd hoped for.
