I have to say the reason I like this show is because it's a lot more real than half the stuff on TV today and not nearly as annoying. Secret Life, for example, just makes me fume. It's a totally unrealistic portrayal of teenagers. Hannah Montana, Sonny with a Chance and Jonas are all shows about famous people trying to lead normal lives? How many of us can actually relate to that? But Huge is a real show about real kids with real problems. Weight is a rising issue in the United States and also something of concern among teens and their peers especially when we live in a society so obsessed with a certain image. Huge brings to light what those with weight issues may be feelings. And even those who are at a healthy weight probably have other image issues that they're not happy with that would make this a show they would enjoy. But the show also goes out of its way to highlight that these are also normal teenagers who get crushes, hook-up, LARP and everything else in between. It's just an all around enjoyable show.
It's has a bit of drama. It's funny, it has its romantic bits. It also has lots of different characters. Everyone can have their favorite and it's an enjoyable show that makes Monday nights good again. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's definitely worth checking out.

Huge was such an amazing and inspiring show! It had a heartfelt message to convey, and the characters were not only fascinating but believable. It is an unfathomable shame that ABC Family did not renew it. What were they thinking?! This show deserves a 2nd chance! I pray some intelligent network will see that and pick it up for production! In a world where we are bombarded with ridiculous "reality" TV and excessive crime dramas, we need a show like Huge to lift our spirits and give us hope. It conquered relevant issues like self esteem and health, a topic that most shows won't cover unless there is money involved. The only "helathy" shows we are given are crap shows where people only try to lose weight for financial gain. This show gave us real scenarios and real people going through the ups and downs of attaining good health. It isn't always pretty and it isn't always easy. This show was so wonderful! Please let some insightful network realize that and pick it up! Shame on ABC Family! They really dropped the ball on this one!
This show is one of the first from ABC Family that I have truly enjoyed and related to! I think everyone can relate to this show in someway, everyone has felt like an outcast at some point in their lifetime and this show has a way of making you feel better about yourself. I was very disappointed today when I found out it was canceled, I was REALLY looking forward to seeing it again. I cannot believe that a show with this much honestly and substance was canceled, when a ridiculous show like "Secret Life" which gives girls and teens unrealistic expectations about EVERYTHING is still running. I really had high hopes for this show, hopes that it would help all teens and people realize that size is not what is important, it's what inside that matters. Not to mention Ian's song in the talent show episode, which was absolutely amazing and inspiring. ABC family, you really dropped the ball letting this wonderful show go.
THIS SHOW WAS SUPER INSPIRATIONAL FOR WOMAN WHO ARE ON BIGGER SIDE
IT TRULY IS SAD THAT THIS SHOW ENDED BEFORE IT REALLY HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE OFF
I WOULD HAVE WATCHED EVERY SINGLE EPISODE FROM BEGINNING TO END
THIS SHOW WAS LITERALLY A GREAT PROGRAM THAT REALLY DID NOT GET TO TRULY MAKE ITS DEBUT BEFORE THEY REMOVED IT FROM THE THE SCREENS SAYING THAT IT WAS FAR TOO CONTROVERSIAL BUT IN REALITY ALL SHOWS ARE CONTROVERSIAL I. E. TODDLERS IN TIERRAS, DANCE MOMS, BIG BROTHER,
HUGE NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK ON AIR WITH THE 2 SAME GIRLS NIKKI BLONSKY AND CHRISTINE METZ.
I WOULD WATCH IT ALWAYS.....

Lately I've been feeling like I may just be too old to enjoy teen drama shows. But after watching all 10 episodes of Huge in a week, I've come to the conclusion that the issue is not my age but simply the mediocre nature of most shows aimed at teenagers.
Like most ABC Family series, Huge never got on my radar, but when I learned recently that "My So-Called Life" creator Winnie Holzman had made another series a few years ago I had to check it out.
It's a wonderful show, characters are complex, and the show reflects the emotional turmoil and poor decisions of teenagers without being soapy. While many series tend to create teen stereotypes, I believe in this group of people. And I found it fascinating to see the way people who were, in normal life, all outsiders, create cliques and ultimately do to others what was normally done to them. Nikki Blonsky was excellent as the rebellious Will, Gina Torres did a terrific job of creating a complex character uncomfortable in her own skin, and really, everyone in the cast was very good.
It's a shame this show was canceled. It was exactly the sort of intelligent, nuanced TV that there is not enough of in this world.
