The show has made a huge change in the co-parenting of me and my husband. Since becoming parents we had been crushing into each others parenting style differences, often criticising each other. The show helped us to label our parenting styles and accept the differences. I liked the variability, cast was cool and diverse, I learned a lot about parenting and stressing out the benefits and detrements of each attitude made them, in my eyes, more equal (which helped me to accept other parenting styles). The challenges were fun to watch.
Imho, the form of a competition didn´t match the purpouse, but luckilly the hosts stressed out the dialouge within the group, personal growth of each couple and psychology know-how (the insights from the psychologist were extremely helpful and helpe to frame the events in the show), than the competition. On the other hand, the form of the competition keeps the show going and adds a bit of excitement, so whatever.
If I had a chance to change anything about the show, exagerating the drama moments was completely unnecessary and it made the show look much cheaper than it actually is.
Overall, thoughthful parents will like the show, since it provides a lot of material for thinking. It´s sweet to see functioning families, the interactions and growth, hearing the stories and feeling the unity within the variability.
I would enjoy to watch more seasons of the show.
