ABSOLUTE ADDICTIVE TV

One of my FAVORITE game shows - EVER!!!

SO addictive, in fact, that I had to look for more, and BINGE-watched (at the expense of being late for work the following morning), not ONLY the U. S. version, but the UK and Australian versions. It is SO good, that if I understood or spoke Danish, or if it had subtitles (and I knew where to stream it), I would immediately watch the original as well.

I was about to add that if you enjoy game shows, this is a DO NOT MISS show, BUT that statement falls short in describing what this series actually is.

This is not only a series where players compete for money. It's a whodunnit, a thriller, a mystery, a drama, a comedy ... it is excellent and addictive television.

Just as is the case with Survivor and Big Brother...

...this game is better when it is played by "civilians".

When it's "real people" like in the British version, the paranoia is real and much more papable, than when it is reality professionals who, while they attempt to "act" shocked/scared/angry/paranoid/etc., can't quite pull it off, and often over-act.

Add to that I find it hugely annoying that production is shooting snippets with contestants lounging in ther pyjamas in a castle bedroom, or splashing around in a castle bath, or some other thing meant to convey they actually stay at the castle, when the reality is none of them stay at the castle overnight, they are all driven to separate secluded hotels/AirBnBs, because that is the only way to avoid the traitors getting caught, when they do traitors work after bedtime, and the castle doesn't have enough rooms for them all.

That being said, it IS much more action packed than the "civilian" version, because the reality pro's play hard from the start, especially those with a backgound in competition shows.

So it's more action packed, but it doesn't have the delicious constant tense feeling of the civilian one.

I watch it, and I will continue watching, but I wish it was slightly better.

Ok but...

USA: First season was great and it was interesting to see how the actual winner got all the way to the end. Challenges were good. There is no need to put "celebrities" into the cast! It makes it much less appealing and the cliques formed were according to what shows they were on. But, Alan Cummings is awesome as the host and tooo funny! Please choose regular contestants.

The UK and Australia Traitors were much better! Love the concept and it's interesting to watch the journey unfold! I think it could have been moved along better and scenes cut as they got repetitive. The praise purse for both of these countries was less than the USA yet the contestants tried harder to win. Cmon USA!

I Usually Hate Reality Competition Shows-Not This One

I turned it on because I love Alan Cummings. Gold right there.

But no, once it gets going, it was pure awesome. I binged it so fast. I wanted more. I rarely review things on here, but this one I want to help get the ratings/reviews/averages and get it out there. This show was so good.

There were times it was a bit too scripted; perhaps people were laying it on a bit thick. But overall, I loved every minute. I wanna be on this show, ha!

The settings, the challenges; I was yelling at the TV like a Boomer, just so into it. Drawn in from start to finish. I was never bored, I loved and hated who I was supposed to, and loved the direction of the show.

I can't wait for season 2.

Absolutely Love It.... any survivor fan would... similar but not a RIP as some are saying.

I do have to say I was very skeptical about this show from the beginning , I wasn't sure if I would like it but after the second episode I started to really enjoy it . The characters started to grow on me and kept me captivated and wanting more .

Some are saying a Survivor Rip Off , but I don't feel that way. Honestly it has similarities to Survivor (and I ask , what is so wrong with that?) but has a brilliant original twist on a very successful reality game show that I have loved from day one . Im a huge Survivor fan and after 20+ years I don't believe anyone has ever come closer to the quality reality game show. I think they have a good start to a show who could achieve the same success and long time viewers , I hope it will last.

I haven't seen the original Australian or UK show yet , but I do want to see them now .

If you are a Survivor fan please give this a try , I don't believe you will be disappointed at all.

Best Game Show Since Survivor

Im not one to binge watch shows especially not game shows but god damn! I watched all 10 episodes in less then 2 days.

First of all, I came for Alan Cumming's fabulous wardrobe and later stayed for the amazing tense and mystery show feel. The show is great at keeping the competitors guessing because there are several creative ways for players to be eliminated and you get to relish in the chaos. The show is about being good at manipulation and deception. No one can be trusted yet they have to work together to increase the prize pool. The castle and surrounding estate was a beautiful backdrop. I hope they will have a season 2.

The UK version is far better than the US

After really enjoying the UK version which has an IMBD rating of 8.8, I thought I would have a look at the US version. I was extremely disappointed to see that the US players were previous reality stars. Ugh...

The UK version, and I think tha Australian version are just average people. Sooooo much better. In season 1 of the US version, I got sick of some of the players. Some like Kate, were lazy. Typical US, very loud and false.

Seriously guys, watch the UK version for a wild ride. Our season 2 finale is tonight, and I am on the edge of my seat. Looking forward to watching th Ozzy version soon - all available on BBC iPlayer.

Ruined it with Fake-ality psuedo-celebs

Season 1 was fun to watch with real people, strategy, challenges, and game-play. So fun that I watched the Australia and UK versions as well. Season 2...not so much. What's with the recycled caricatures from other shows? Casting needs to understand there is a short shelf-life to these people. The drama has overtaken the fun of the game, and I'm finding it difficult to enjoy watching. Fake emotions, slights, indignation, you name it. Everything is so over the top. Alan should be the only character on the show, but his presence gets lost in the sea of fake nails, fake eyelashes and air-brushing. Phaedra in particular is difficult to watch, as she hasn't contributed anything to the games except endless pouting, mumbling, repeating what everyone else says and getting her 3-inch eyelashes caught in her fake bangs. Bring back normal people or this show should get muuuurrrderrred!

Very addictive...pleasantly surprised

So I binge watched the entire season in about 3 days. I didn't know if I would like it at first and I really didn't know many of the reality stars except a few from Bravo shows. However, I must say once I started it and got familiar with the rules of the game and how it worked it was very engaging and I could not stop watching. I think I watched four or five episodes in one sitting. I do agree with some of the other viewers that it would have been a little bit more intriguing had the traitors not actually been identified to the audience because it would have kept us guessing more. But on the other hand it was interesting hearing their reasoning and strategic moves for who they would pick off one by one. I definitely would watch another season and I hope it gets picked up. I wasn't bored at all and it was interesting seeing the different personalities and cliques that formed. Definitely worth a watch in my opinion.

So-so

I've been a huge fan of The Traitors since it first aired on British television just over a year ago.

I've watched a few countries rendition of this and I'm finding the American versions the least entertaining. There are 'famous reality show' contestants in it who people outside of America have never heard of. Most of them shouting over each over, trying to get their voice heard, and hoping for as much air time as they can get. It all feels elaborately staged, hammed up, and extremely fake. They even try and con the viewer into us believing they actually sleep at the castle. They don't, they are sent to a B&B each night!

It's worth a watch if you're fan. It's my least favourite out of all the countries I've have watched (UK, NZ, AUS and Canada).

Watch the UK version

Such a fantastic concept for a game show. Usually I avoid reality TV like the plague. Vapid, toxic and self-obsessed types hungry for their five minuted. However, having loved the UK version I had to give this a go. Unfortunately by episode 3 the show has given itself away as being somewhat set-up, i.e 'the note'. This didn't sit right with me and then subsequent events became somewhat predictable. Additionally including existing reality stars felt forced for the sake of drama. This is a show reflecting the complexities of trust and manipulation. It did not require egotists shouting over each other for the sake of entertainment. Moreover, two particular contests know each other which immedietly creates bias. A real shame.

New Blood needed - enough with Boston Rob. Yuck!

This season has started off pretty poor with the addition of Boston Rob. Why did the producers think we'd wanna see season 82 of Survivor mixed with season 82 of the housewives and big Brother, so freaking boring. Enough with these serial "not so real" reality frequent flyers. How could you possibly want to see someone like Boston Rob Wynn yet another million dollars when they are plenty of other people, more interesting people that would be better in this position. We already know he's a snake and a creepy guy. So there's nothing left to shock or surprise us this season. I think it's just gonna be weak after a week of Rob being Rob and nothing interesting or surprising will happen. So far I'm right. This show needs new blood not rehashed aging pseudo celebrities.

A Look at Season 2!

Season 2 - Despite being made up of reality tv stars, I actually enjoyed this season of the show as the contestants seemed smarter and the treachery was even more pronounced than in the first season. This season made the reality tv hosts angle work in its favor which added tension between them and suspense for the viewing audience. Even the final episode treachery was something that was not expected and added some great resolution moments. The reunion episode was also an added bonus that elevated this season due to the tension between all the contestants and the revelation of their true feelings towards the overall game.

What was wrong w/ Season 1?

I was skeptical to watch this, but enjoy a good whodunnit and this was a close concept. Season one had a great concept of mixing reality "stars" and average joes/jills. There were still cheesy b-roll shots, but it wasn't excessive. Episodes didn't need to be as long as they were, but it's understandable to help build suspense. Season one ended with intensity that I wasn't expecting.

Season two feels like they thought they did something wrong in season one. Having all "celebrities" is a huge disconnect. I don't watch much reality TV so I'm unfamiliar with the "importance" of any of the characters. They don't add anything for me. Most are just annoying because they "already know how to play this game." They also added some terrible CGI in some instances that is beyond comical. The extra cut scenes of the cast during the Traitors council is laughable. These are reality tv characters...not actors.

They had a good thing and it feels ruined now. There is little reason to continue watching the series.

Beautifully crafted & fun

For the first time in a long time, I'm very entertained.

Not only is this a very well executed and beautiful scenery. The characters are top-tier.

I won't lie to you. I started this because I saw some snippets of Gabby and Tom.

I truly think having Tomy scandal on the show was the best thing you could ever do, I'm currently writing from episode eight and I have never laughed so much!!!

I am generally telling my friends about the show and I never do that, I don't watch much reality TV but somehow housewives and I did start Vanderpump rules a year ago and big Brother, etc. I'm a big clue person and this is just really awesome.

The outfits the design is everything I've ever wanted in a show!!! I love the drama!!! I literally got peacock just to watch the show, and I will be watching the other seasons after this.

The traitors US

I accidentally watched the first episode and it reminded me so much of the board game The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow (it's literally the game in a TV show format) and it gave me such a nostalgic feeling and happy memories of playing with my family I just had to watch it.

It was okay, some of the things didn't make much sense but it still gets you hyped and anxious to see the plot twists and how the contestants (I would prefer just regular non-celebrities) are thinking. I do have to say I found it odd that it had such a lower score compared to the UK version and having watched just 1 episode of the The Traitors UK I understand why. If you're curious, being the same format it can still be a very different show.

It's still worth it and if you don't know might as well check out the board game too :)

Who knew Alan had such an outrageous accent??!

Having met him in irl, imagine my surprise when I heard his "real" accent. Scottish? Who knew? No matter, it's still a pretty good show. Really. Watch it cuz it's alan...

Supposedly there's lots of OTHER celebrities too. But I never heard of em. None other with any of Alan's charisma. Might as well call it the "Alan Show".

Then, there's some reality show stuff...

So if you wanted to scroll social media, but you're just too exhausted to swipe, simply click this show on your streaming, cuz it can't be the worst choice.

(Omg. Make it stop. You should really just get outdoors and put an end to this downward media spiral...)

So 72 more characters to describe this monstrosity. It's all made up, folks. BOTH THEIR REALITY AND YOURS.

But there's Alan Cummings...

Rubbish! Watch the original UK Traitors

I may be biased as I'm from the UK but this version of The Traitors is rubbish. It's the exact same as the UK series with the same location, missions, and the presenter Alan Cunningham is to over the top! The casting is disgusting! Why put celebrities on this series? In my favourite one the UK version of the Traitors there aren't celebrities, none of the cast know each other, not to mention the UK cast are extremely likeable and has much more personality than this cast from the US. I do not know why people are rating this so highly! Go watch the UK TRAITORS OR AUSTRALIA TRAITORS! Do not recommend.

Wasn't sure

I saw a promo for The Traitors but wasn't sure what to expect, but I wasn't disappointed. I binged this one in less than two days and I can't wait for season two!

It's hard to review this without giving too much away. The characters in this season were excellent. You had villains all over the place that looked like traitors even though they weren't. You had traitors who were ruthless in the game and played an excellent part. This show came down to the final minutes of the final episode and it was an excellent ending.

The challenges they took part in were very "survivoresque " and some were a little lame. But still enjoyable.

S3 Maybe when Scumdoval is gone....or not...

The non Monsters of America don't appreciate you taking our shows away by giving roles to the dirtbags Good people don't wanna spend our time looking at! Stop hiring morally inept pieces of garbage & shoving them down our throat! TV is for relaxation & entertainment. Grown dirt bags that lie cheat and steal peoples lives for their own selfish desires, there's nothing relaxing or entertaining about that. You're casting crew makes me freaking sick and whoever else decided that this was OK makes me freaking sick, wrong direction! People, Vanderpump rules ended for a reason, nobody wants to watch that morally inept pieces of garbage who so grossly & negatively effect people's lives. I'm so freaking disappointed. Like life isn't hard enough, yeah... keep shoving horrific monsters in our face. Sounds like a super plan. I stopped watching the shows that monsters are on and interestingly those shows keep ending, permanently! Then, you wanna turn around and put those same monsters that don't have a job because good people stopped watching the shows they were on and u go & put them on your new show. Awesome business plan. Sure, it's nice to see face of the decent people who's shows ended but obviously it the garbage people.
