With the recent passing of John Wooden, the HBO documentary "UCLA the Dynasty" is more relevant than ever. It covers the UCLA basketball program from 1964 through 1975. I'm a UCLA alumn and went there during some of those years, so I'm biased to begin with, but this documentary is brilliant despite my being pre-dispossed to enjoy it. Much of the footage I had never seen before. To any college basketball fan, I can't recommend this movie too highly. The Bruins set so many records and John Wooden accomplished feats that will never be duplicated. During one streak the Bruins won 88 games in a row. During the 12 year run they won 10 NCAA titles, seven in a row. With all the tributes coming in since Wooden's passing away, I can't think of a better way to learn more about him than watching this film.

This documentary tells the tale of John Wooden and his no nonsense way of molding young men during our country's volatile times in the 60's. By the way, UCLA also won many basketball games and National Championships!
