This is by all means an above average horror anthology. It has episodes that are stronger than others and some that fall too short but in comparison to many other horror anthologies it certainly stands above plenty.

Many judge this based on Zak and disregard the actual content of the episodes. There are some complaints to be held regarding cinematography, lighting, story and acting but both one by one and as a whole they have a common theme and feeling running through.

Don't go in expecting masterful horror, expect common themes and stories, some clichés but it has plenty of creepy moments while some episodes are genuinely great and creepy.

To comment on Zak, he is a persona that some don't click with. Personally I enjoy his antics with his team on Ghost Adventures even if ghosts don't exist, they have great chemistry while Zak individually has a perchant for being overly melodramatic and this can be argued here too.

All in all, I've enjoyed all episodes in some ways and some more than others. I'm in between a 6 and a 7, closer to a 7 than a 6 as I have enjoyed many of the episodes based on the horror element. As a series stacked up to others I'd say it's a solid 6.

It reminds me of the show A Haunting, only better acting. I'm glad it's not another GA show where they run around chasing ghosts. Each story is based on an item in the museum.

I loved the first episode. It was scary enough, and I was excited to watch the next episode. But I'm on episode 3, "Chair of the Beast." I can't help but to notice so many similarities to, "The Devil Made me do it." A boy visiting a house his sister and boyfriend are looking to rent. A demon coming from a well, possessing a boy. The old man talking to the boy. The writer could have made a whole new story.

I have to say I was so excited to see that Zac and Eli had teamed up. The horror king and the prince of spooky! How could it have been so bad then? Honestly, it boils down to the actors.

I'm so sorry that they weren't better, because these stories are interesting and with an element of 'real' to them (meaning they exist and you can visit them) , I'd have been far more impressed if the casting had been right.

I tried SO hard to look past it but they are telling your story guys, they ruined it for you and sadly you're held accountable because you cast them- you have the final say.

Bigger budget next time, get properly trained actors who don't sound and look like they are performing a child's nativity.

The hubby and I constantly check for new episodes, everything is very well done WAY better then many movies in the theater!

And as for the originality I think we can all agree.... No other museum has made shows about their haunted objects.

These early ratings must all be the Ghost Adventures cast. Everything about this is terrible. It's not scary, the acting is awful, the directing is awful, the color saturation is awful. The episodes are super slow for the first 30 minutes and then there's with no payoff in the last 8 minutes. Stories are VERY loosely based on the items described. Eli Roth has his name attached but doesn't direct or write any of the episodes. I was super excited for this and it's just godawful.

I like it a lot . I love the stories behind the artifacts he has in his museum. It's pretty scary too which I love! Looking forward to season 2! I would love to go to his museum in Vegas soon amad see everything he's collected.

I like the stories....that's4 what they are, stories. They are scary and entertaining. Its different than what Zac normally does. If you like shows like a haunting or similar you would like this.

Do it with other people. Someone has to wake up the others when they doze off. Also the directing, acting and light work is awful.

Another fake from this guy! As per all other shows hes on so acted and unreal and untrue... should be zac boring!!!

They start each episode saying they don't know where it came from or don't know from who. They then go telling a story of what "could" have been. Not worth watching if it's not real, idk how it has such a good rating.

I love this show,the eppisodes are based on true events,stories are really good and intresting,it is creepy at times,shocks are good to,cinematography is great,sountrack is great to, i hope for a 2nd season....

Do far this is where I'm at. I'm not a huge fan of Zak because I think he's a bully who says he hates bullies. I am a fan of the show. Tales of the crypt did a better job in the 80s than this first one.

Dear Zak and Eli, WTH is this??? Please let these episodes get better, otherwise, I'm going to just watch tales of the crypt.

I was sceptical because well Zak Bagans LOL that's why. Honestly, I just can't take him seriously and I just see fake cheesy gimmicks with him. That will pry not change. I do find artifacts with spooky stories attached really interesting. You add in Eli Roth who can really help weave a terrifying story putting in a spice of fiction. It gives you that story that gives you shivers up your spine because you know the artifact is really and people have had scary experiences with it so even with a fictional story you find yourself believing it a little bit. Zak Bagans talking at the beginning is annoying but get past that and its a much more intense Twilight Zone or Night Gallery. I love horror anthology that gives you the creeps so I hope we get more.

IDC if you're his biggest fan!!! Stop with the non-sense!!! Get an exorsism! Find a healer! This is horror fans' month and this is NOT acceptable at all!!!

Roth- I'm hoping your new series A Ghost Ruined My Life stays alive bcuz discovery loves one seasoning us! This series better get better and quick! I'm on episode two now.

It does get better and I'm actually thinking about going back. Please make sure you you watch them until the very very end.

Maybe I'm missing something. How did this make it to a second season? I barely made it through a second episode. Looks like the lighting is an attempt to mimic "A Haunting ". Nah, too dark. Plus. A Haunting actually has good, scary stories with a plot. Museum stories are slow and yawn worthy. I might've thought it was scary in 1968 when that was the only quality we had available in horror. Sorry, Zak. I'm a diehard fan of ALL your other shows. Not this one. Your talents are better used for true paranormal. I'll stick with my annual Twilight Zone marathon for this kind of throwback entertainment.

I really enjoyed the story telling, some of the actors, believe it or not, we're pretty good. I don't know why people are so hard with the criticism, it's not like they're supposed to be big blockbuster movies.

This show is absolutely awful. Eli Roth just isn't good at horror... the stories Bagans gives are interesting but I can't say they seem 100% believable & god .. the reenactments are just abysmal. Most of the time nothing makes sense & random stuff is added which has NOTHING to do with the original story. Why Bagans admires Roth so much is beyond me. Roth over dramatises, creates stale scenes/story lines & cliches. I much prefer Deadly possessions that was good & it deserves more seasons. I think over the years fame has gotten to Bagans head & he's changed alot.

If Roth wasn't a part of this the show would be better.

The host is the worst actor/person ever seen in television.

I think it's awesome, and I think Zak does a wonderful job of keeping his viewers coming back for more.

Considering when they switched to Discovery + I only had satellite television and I actually went and got WiFi spending 100 dollars extra a month that I don't have just to watch Ghost Adventures. So ya I'm spending a he'll of a lot of money just to keep watching his work. Damn good.

I think people that talk crap are retarded and it's really good. I don't think he's trying to make money this is really what he's into and all these stories are true. If you followed Ghost Adventures and whatever else you would know these are true stories.

I had high expectations for the collaboration of Zac and Eli, anticipating that it would lead to a highly entertaining viewing experience.

While I acknowledge the impressive cinematography and relatively good acting, to me, the storylines fall short, proving excessively predictable and dull. Despite my genuine desire to soldier through the show, I found myself reluctantly nodding off as I endeavored to push through each episode. Despite my perseverance, hoping for an improvement, unfortunately, it did not materialize.

I am genuinely disappointed because I had hoped and expected The Haunted Museum to exceed my expectations.
