Some films are slow burners that build into a bonfire; like a celebration on the 5th of November. This film is more like a cigarette landing on a soaking wet slab of concrete.
They are Watching is just slow and unimaginative. There is little to no suspense. It is just scene, after scene, of boredom and predictability.
The characters are kinda' boring too.
There is no reason to care what happens to these characters, yet there is ample time to give them some sort of character arc.
The final scene alludes to something else happening in the lives of the characters. Sadly, the film only touches on this in the last 5 seconds, right before the credits roll. Because of that, the ending falls flat, leaving us with a "who cares?" outcome.
