Exclusive: Rapper Lil Mama, Mudbound and Straight Outta’ Compton star Jason Mitchell and Carlos Ponce (Couple’s Retreat) are starring in action-thriller Mercy Mercy Me, written and directed by Wes Miller (A Day To Die).

The crime-thriller, set in 1985, sees two reformed outlaws, Mercy (Lil Mama) and Khaos (Jason Mitchell), pulled back into the life they left behind. They’re forced to take on a dangerous job that pits them against mob bosses, a crooked detective (Ponce), and their own past sins. Below are first look images of Mitchell and Lil Mama in the film.

LA-based production company Blacklight is financing the indie movie with Andrew van den Houten and Wes Miller producing, Joseph O’Connor and Lloyd Watts co-producing and Jessie Jalee and Chad Ghiron executive-producing. 79th & Broadway Entertainment will be handling the sales for both domestic and international.

Tubi’s picked up the horror thriller Please Don’t Feed the Children and has set a Friday, June 27, 2025 streaming release. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Steven Spielberg’s daughter Destry Allyn Spielberg and stars Michelle Dockery and Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul).

The cast also includes Zoe Colletti (Only Murders In The Building), Andrew Liner (Ransom Canyon), Dean Scott Vazquez (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) Regan Aliyah, Emma Meisel, Josh Melnick (Saint X), and Vernon Davis (A Day To Die).

“Please Don’t Feed the Children takes place in a not-so-distant future where society contends with a pervasive virus that afflicts the entire adult population,” reads Tubi’s synopsis. “After the deadly viral outbreak, a group of orphans flee in search of a new life, only to be taken hostage by a woman hiding a sinister secret.

Destry Allyn Spielberg, the daughter of Steven Spielberg, makes her feature directorial debut with post-apocalyptic horror movie Please Don’t Feed the Children, and Deadline reports this morning that the upcoming movie has been acquired for release by streamer Tubi.

Please Don’t Feed the Children will launch June 27 exclusively on Tubi.

The film, which will launch on June 27, stars Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), Zoe Colletti (Only Murders In The Building), Andrew Liner (Ransom Canyon), Dean Scott Vazquez (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) Regan Aliyah, Emma Meisel (Doogie Kameāloha), Josh Melnick (Saint X) and Vernon Davis (A Day To Die).

The label will be led by Signature’s Ella Field and her team in London and will be a full-service international sales company, with additional financing opportunities for upcoming productions.

Capture will combine Capstone’s genre arm Blue Box with Signature International under one new umbrella. All of Signature International’s ongoing business will be absorbed into the new venture, including their catalogue and upcoming productions.

On March 27th of last year, we heard that filming was underway on a serial killer action thriller called Damaged, which had Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) and Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) in the lead roles and director Terry McDonough, whose previous credits include episodes of the TV shows Killing Eve, Better Call Saul, and Breaking Bad, at the helm. Now, just eight days shy of the one year anniversary of that news, a trailer for Damaged has arrived online, along with some release date information: the film will be receiving a theatrical, digital, and on demand release on April 12th. Willis retired from acting back in 2022, following a diagnosis of aphasia. Willis leaves behind a prolific acting career, including roles in Die Hard and Pulp Fiction.

Two years after its release, A Day to Die makes its way into the Netflix Global top 10. A Day to Die squeaked its way into the no. 10 slot for the week of January 8–January 14, with 3.4 million views.

Possession horror is on trend this year, and that looks to continue with Judgment of the Dead. THR reports that the upcoming horror movie will star Mohamed Karim and give an Egyptian spin on the possession formula.

Thomas M. Hewlett wrote the screenplay for Judgement of the Dead based on Karim’s original idea.

Interestingly, Judgment of the Dead was initially announced in 2021, under the title Book of Chaos, as a Dark Castle Entertainment feature. Dark Castle initially launched in 1998 by Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis and Gilbert Adler and most recently produced Simon Barrett’s directorial debut, Seance, and last year’s Orphan: First Kill.

The English-language romantic thriller, which is being produced by London-based Daniella Gonella and Jay Michaelson’s Dg Productions, is based on the true story of rising Polish stage star Stanislawa Uminska, who in 1924 killed her cancer-stricken fiancé in Paris upon his request as an act of euthanasia. She then stood trial, but was set free by the French court.

Frank Grillo is an American actor known for the TV Series Prison Break. He also starred in The Purge: Anarchy and The Purge: Election Year.

He has appeared in Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (2021) and A Day to Die (2022), alongside Bruce Willis.

Corrective Measures, an odd mix of action, prison, science fiction and monster movies, opens with a parking garage execution gone wrong as a band of goons led by what appears to be a werewolf are wiped out by the vigilante known as Payback just so he can have the pleasure of killing their intended victim himself before the cops arrest him. He’s sent to prison, but not just any prison, he’s going to San Tiburon which seems to be this world’s answer to the MCU’s Vault. Only it’s run by a private company and Warden Devlin is as corrupt as any of the inmates.

On April 29, Bruce Willis’ storied filmography adds another credit with the release of “Fortress: Sniper’s Eye.”

The action-thriller starring Willis, Jesse Metcalfe and Chad Michael Murray is a sequel to 2021’s “Fortress” and is set to be released in select theaters, as well as on digital platforms and VOD. It’s just one of about 10 tough-guy titles still outstanding as Willis’ acting career comes to a close.

Vertical has released an official trailer for a generic action thriller titled A Day to Die, yet another boring new Bruce Willis movie to ignore. Even the title is generic and forgettable. After killing a drug syndicate member while protecting a parolee, Connor Connolly has one day to pay two million dollars in reparations he doesn't have to Tyrone Pettis. He is forced to ask his old military ops crew, led by Brice Mason, to come together and somehow get two million dollars before Connor loses everyone he loves. Bruce Willis co-stars with Kevin Dillon, Frank Grillo, Leon, Gianni Capaldi, Johnny Messner, Vernon Davis, and Brooke Butler. Not a bad cast, but nah... These dime-a-dozen Bruce Willis movies are as bad as they've ever been, and I really hope no one is wasting their money on them. Just stay away.

Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has secured the U.S. distribution rights to A Day to Die, an action-thriller starring Frank Grillo, Bruce Willis, Leon, and Kevin Dillon. Wes Miller directed the indie from a script he co-wrote with Scott Mallace and Rab Berry. The pic is expected to be released in 2022.

In the film, a disgraced parole officer (Dillon) is indebted to a local gang leader and forced to pull off a series of dangerous drug heists within twelve hours in order to pay the $2 million dollars he owes, rescue his kidnapped pregnant wife, and settle a score with the city’s corrupt police chief (Willis), who is working with the gang leader and double-crossed him years ago.

Gianni Capaldi, Brooke Butler, Vernon Davis, Mohamed Karim, Alexander Kane, and Curtis Nichouls round out the cast. Nichouls also produced the film alongside Andrew van den Houten and DJ Dodd. Capstone Group is handling global sales.
