The director really captured the anxiety and worry of a child going missing, I cannot begin to imagine the horrors of a scenario like this.
Great acting all round and love the drive of the parent who will do whatever to get their child back.
Gotta support Indie filmmakers! Support the underdogs.
Good effort all round.

I have to start off by saying the deadly combo or acting, cinematography and story are top notch. The film can be brutal at times, but that keeps with its theme. Emotionally draining (in a great way) and a true dive into the madness a parent who has lost a child (or had one missing) must feel. All around well done!

I liked this film as it had you guessing throughout the film what, why and how. It is well written and the actors all done really well. I felt I could truly understand the worry that the main character was going through to try find the answers she needed. I recommend this film as a good watch for a low budget film. Well done to all involved. I will be watching it again.

Six Years Gone movie review:
IN A NUTSHELL:
Your child has disappeared, and the police investigation has gone cold ...what would you do?
Six years on from the chilling abduction of her beautiful daughter, Carrie Dawson's life has fallen into ruin. However, as the astonishing clues start to come together about her little girl's disappearance, Carrie is about to put everything on the line to end her nightmare.
Six Years Gone is a gritty and powerful look at tragedy, love, and desperation, that will touch a nerve with all parents.
The emotional indie film was both written and directed by Warren Dudley. He reached out to me to give me a press screener and an invitation to preview his gut-wrenching film. Thanks! His thriller was submitted to 18 international film festivals where it won much acclaim, including Best Film at the 2022 Paris International Film Awards!
About the movie, Warren Dudley stated, "I've spent the last ten years flitting between football-based comedy and the horror/thriller genres. It's been a privilege to work on these projects with some brilliant, talented people. However, it's been gnawing away at me that I have yet to make anything 'real', something gritty and heartfelt that packs an emotional punch. The idea for Six Years Gone has been floating around my head for a while. As the parent of a now twelve-year-old daughter, news reports about missing children have always left me with chills, and I felt those feelings could be mined for a script. About six months ago, I saw a Belgium film called The Unknown Girl, and it immediately made me think that in a similar way of shooting could bring my new idea to life. I loved the ultra-real performances and greyness of the film. I aim to get close to this with Six Years Gone."
THINGS I LIKED: Congratulations to Veronica Jean Trickett for starring in the movie and truly carrying the entire film. She also won Best Actress in the 2022 Sweden Film Awards.
The story is dark and illustrates a parent's worse nightmare: having your child kidnapped.
The film showcases how a parent never gives up hope when it comes to a missing child.
It's fascinating how a series of events could quickly cause a person to make terrible life choices.
I loved the many layers of emotions that the mother experiences: hope, despair, desperation, embarrassment, anger, frustration, and gratitude.
Only $18,000 was spent making this film! That's amazing!
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: It's very slow-moving.
We see several similar scenes. Some of them could have been cut and replaced with new ones that could provide new insights into the characters or story.
There are some bad, shallow-acting moments that felt very forced.
Some Americans might find it difficult to understand the thick British accent.
A potential boyfriend is shown to us in Act 1 with no resolution about him after that.
Just a head's up: this is not a fun movie to watch but one that will rip your heart out.
TIPS FOR PARENTS: This is not appropriate for children to watch.
Several scenes let us know that prostitution is happening. Thankfully, we don't have to see the details though.
Physical abuse is heard.
Profanity Hopefully, teens who watch this (if they do under parental supervision) will see how much their parents love them and worry about them.
We see an unmarried mother in the bedroom before and after several intimate experiences with men. I'm grateful we didn't have to watch them.

If you are after a dark and gritty film full of emotion and heart then look no further than Six Years Gone.
This emotional rollercoaster speaks straight to the heart of parents, focusing on a subject nobody would ever wish to experience. The film takes you away on a dark trip encompassing the worst fears of parents and carers. A missing child.
The acting performance of the main character pulls you in and carries you to the depths of your nightmares. You find yourself fighting with her along the way are left with no choice but to feel her despair and helplessness. And it hurts!
The thoughtfully scripted and cleverly filmed movie is a fantastic example of movie making masterclass on a shoe-string.
Films do not need a big budget to send a big message or leave a lasting impression - and Six Years Gone does exactly that.

This film takes us on an intimate journey of this woman's life due to the disappearance of her child. Veronica Jean Trickett, Carrie, does a great job. Especially look for 17 year old Chloe, played by Lyra Treglown, who in her one scene is unforgettable.

One of the best indie films I've seen. The production value; acting, editing, script, camera - all spot on. It's not an easy watch, but one that will stick with you. A real gem with an ending that, in reality, is a new begnning to yet another long heartbreaking journey. A must see.

Six Years Gone doesn't feel like an indie film. The acting is superb especially by the talented lead Veronica Jean Trickett. As a father, I found the story to be devastating at times and painful to watch. The writing, performances, photography and direction all made me feel something which many much higher budgeted films don't achieve. All around this is a very well-made film worthy of high marks.

This intense drama follows Carrie who's daughter has been missing without a trace. She cannot come to terms with having no answers. To add to her drama, she also has to deal with her mother's erratic behaviour while trying to keep herself sane. As the police don't seem to be able to help her she is using whatever resources she has but at what cost?
It's a truly nerve wracking, gritty and suffocating indie gem that I highly recommend.

To go through life as the main character is possible for anyone with similar circumstances. I really really wanted so badly to do something. It was heartbreaking to see what she endured and to see her struggle as she did. Be diligent in protecting your loved ones if you can help it. The acting was good. Enjoy.

An extremely well crafted and acted suspenseful drama. You are pulled into the mother's horrifying experiences. In a film that pulls no punches, that means you are in a gritty, painful trip. But the journey is well worth it, as the movie is riveting. A truly excellent indie film that will hold you throughout. I highly recommend it.

I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but this one involves the loss of a child to the unknown. It's well done, with a strong infusion of anxiety and sympathy for the main character. The sense of dread that comes from the mother's plight is palpable, and this is made clear by good acting and directing. As a parent, "Six Years Gone" definitely got to me.

The main character, Carrie, held my attention throughout the horror of her ordeal ; namely having a young child abducted. Although some of the plot comes unstuck ( how did she end up hiring the man who raped her to track down the abductor of her daughter?) and the editing could have been tighter it, nonetheless , was a great vehicle for British acting and writing. I hope that I can see more from this production team. Maybe something a bit lighter next time !

This is a well done movie about a mothers search for her child. It is a gripping and very well acted drama. It moves on the emotional as well as thriller scale. Story is solid and the lead is very strong, You don't have to be a parent to identify with the lead. I recommend Six Years Gone.

Kudos to Warren Dudley for this taut and moving child-trafficking drama centered on a powerhouse performance by Veronica Jean Trickett with a top-rate supporting cast. When single mom Carrie suffers every parent's worst nightmare, her attempts to keep her iife together, including caring for her dementia affected mother, collide with the grim realities of being working-poor in the UK. Dudley keeps the pace of the film moving along while subtly exposing, in a Ken Loachian way, the systemic injustices, mysogyny and racism inherent in Little Britain, and the creeping horror of the white-van men in our midst. Shot in a a spare, cinema verité, radical 1st person style - this movie will stay with you and make you think.

Emotional and Heart Wrenching
What a roller coaster of emotions. I came across Six Years Gone on TubiTV and decided to watch it as it had won quite a few rewards. I have to say it did not disappoint. I can't imagine the mother's pain. The story was heart wrenching...and the mother's emotions came out in every scene. The acting was perfect. "Six Years Gone" was well written and directed. The casting was perfect. I would definitely recommend this film. I have always been a fan of Indie Film. It proves that you don't need to have a huge budget in order to make a good film. Story, Directing, script and casting is all you need. I am looking forward to seeing more of Warren Dudley's film.

Not for the faint at heart, Six Years Gone is a gritty, moving and at times maddening look at a mothers pain and desperation in losing her daughter. Veronica Jean Trickett as Carrie Dawson is just amazing. Seriously, I am at a loss of words to describe the emotional journey this character and ultimately the actor takes the audience member through. I cried more than once. I felt fear, desperation, pain and so many emotions. Never has an indie film touched me so profoundly. The writer, director, actors and everyone involved just proved to the world you don't need a big budget or big name talent to make an award winning drama.
