Photo Manipulation

The knife used in the production of Photo Manipulation was real. No fake knives were used. No injuries were reported. In the scene where Michael Mast's character "Paul" runs through the shed however, director 'T.M. Langseth' was standing behind one of the free-standing doors and as Michael ran through the narrow corridor one of these doors collapsed and crushed the director's ankle. The director was in a lot of pain but the scene was so well executed he didn't yell "cut!". The burning shed at the beginning of the film was built by the crew in just a few hours. There is no roof, and there are only two walls and a fake door. The gasoline used to ignite the flames was siphoned from the Director Of Photography's father's tractor. The murderer in Photo Manipulation was played by four different people. when Tess (played by Joan Thibodeau) is seen running from the shed, a series of shots were lost showing her running through corn fields. The shot took nearly 5 hours to setup and in the end, the footage went missing. The scene where Gabriel loses a chunk of his head and brain, a store-bought kidney was used to emulate a piece of brain. One the scene was shot, the crew fed the kidney to Alexis Vanier's dog but the dog refused to eat it.
