The Eye

All this build up and character development, all leading up to a climactic episode. I was at the edge of my seat the entire time! The tension was on point. At every turn I suspected something to go wrong and I was not disappointed.

The visuals are phenomenal! The score literal perfection. The heist itself was flawlessly executed. Nothing felt undeserved and easily acquired.

The stakes were high and the humanity was never lost in a sleek rebel vs empire fight we get in most star wars stories.

The previous episodes were all leading to one hell of a climax and I cannot wait how it goes from there. I cared so much for characters I hardly spent any time with just because the development was amazing. I was shocked and conflicted by the end.

I cannot stress this enough how much of a fan I am of this show!

The most unique point of view from the entire franchise makes this tv show to be the best tv series from this year. I know SW influencers like Den of Bearbs or Smurf Wars Theory despise this show and think they have some kind of right because they are knowing everything about SW universe and for them everything resumes to lasers and stormtroopers, but they forget many of the fans who like both Star Wars and Star Trek, the ones they hate the most, are here even from the first trilogy and they are the fans of this series too. The creators succed to make the viewers to like even the villans, if you can call them villains, because they are just persons from the other side, you actually feel sorry for them if you see them bleeding,everything is treated with such a maturity which could make even the Star Trek movies to look like some childish productions. Probably this is the greatest SW tv episode ever and the music score is one of the greatest, too.

The mission gets underway.

This is a strong action thriller with plenty of tension and exciting spectacle.

There is little about the plot I can say without spoiling, except that the mission sequence unfolds very well with good suspense, visuals and performances.

There are also some good character moments in the aftermath and it keeps certain characters interesting and the intrigue high about what comes next.

One scene involving imperial officers discussing the Aldhani people is slightly moustache twirly and a bit heavy on the exposition, but apart from this everything flows very well.

Visually the episode is superb, with lots of moments that should entertain Star Wars fans that do not feel like pure fan service, particularly the relevant use of TIE Fighters and the scenes in the Imperial Senate. The music enhances everything.

Among a great cast and crew, the unsung heroes of "Andor" are its writer Dan Gilroy and composer Nicholas Britell. The first one has created smart SW characters and intertwined them into a surprisingly absorbing story, the second one added soul and raw emotions to the story as it unfolds in front of our eyes.

"Andor", to me, is doing the impossible. It's making me interested in Star Wars again. Yes, Grogu is great, but The Mandalorian (2019)'s simple storytelling doesn't keep me very engaged. With "Andor", we get a behind-the-scenes peak that's more akin to A Escuta (2002) than any previous SW iteration. Until now, I didn't know this was exactly what I wanted.

All the slow-burn build-ups pay off in the most spectacular and awe-inspiring way in this amazing episode.

This is without a doubt the first time since Mandalorian I've ever enjoyed a piece of Disney Star Wars and is one of the most intense, fun, breathtaking, well-written episodes of any show I have ever seen, and The Eye was so amazing and jaw-dropping that makes me wanna write this review quickly so I can rewatch the episode.

This episode not only has "good looks" and scenes that are only eye candy, but also a lot of character development and story progression.

The action is really good, the visuals are amazing, no character feels one-dimensional and all of them feel complex and like actual characters thanks to the good writing.

Andor himself changes a lot in this episode and his motivations are evolved when he sees himself in Skeen and sees how other people see him.

This episode was all around one of the best things that have come out of Star Wars and it is just a joy to experience. It had spectacular visuals, great acting, good action, great pacing, and surprisingly really emotional.

This show is shaping up to be not only one of the only few great shows that have come out of Disney Plus and Star Wars next to Mandalorian, but a great show in general considering that you can basically watch this show without even having to watch Rogue One first, let alone the other 16 Star Wars movies and show.
