Precious Is the Night

If you look at this film on the surface level, perhaps its gorgeous cinematography can distract you from its loose and barely-there plot. But if you paid any attention to its substance at all, you will be left sorely disappointed. The film's appeal hinges almost entirely on Chuando Tan's glistening abs and not a lot on his acting (or lack thereof). The film has been rated poorly by almost every critic, unsurprisingly. The plot has no pay-off, the pacing is inconsistent, and character arcs completely disappear minutes after they are introduced. Despite the high praise for its artistic camerawork and editing, the film doesn't have much else going for it.

A boon for movie afficiandos esply now that Asian films are making breakthroughs everywhere. Characters well played and plot thickens with every second yet leaving viewers wanting more till the end.
