I understand the poor ratings, it's not a great movie, but I think the script was alright and the two leading actors made the most out of it. Not exactly the best acting from the support cast, but you can tell Harper and James are sorta good together.
It's not that long a movie and there's about twenty minutes when four of them are together that kinda made me wanna stop watching 'cause everything felt off but I wanted to see whether Harper and James work out.
The beginning and the end is watchable, the middle part much less convincing for me, which unfortunately is a huge chunk of the movie. Really felt like an amateur movie. Like drama students just graduated school and want to show they could make something on their own.

I thoroughly enjoyed the "Weekenders". Full disclosure: I usually get bored watching romantic movies (which I typically get dragged to). I assure you this was not the case for this movie. This was mainly due to the fact that the "Weekenders" possesses a very clever script/storyline, it is really well-cast, the music is excellent, the cinematography is beautiful, but most importantly (for me) the pacing of the movie is superb. At no point, did I find myself checking the time nor yawning during this movie. On the contrary, I was captivated during the entire movie and found myself smiling at its tender and witty moments. The chemistry between the four main characters was so organic. There was nothing forced about it. James and Harper were such likable characters that I was routing for them throughout the movie. I highly recommend you check out this movie.
Just a cute love story set in times we live in. Predictable but some twists that keep you interested. No gratuitous sex and just a little profanity. Definitely PG-13.
First so there is no misunderstanding this is a very enjoyable film. If you are going expecting a traditional Rom-Com you are going to be disappointed. However, if you are looking for something with less made up drama and adult conversation about life this is a movie for you. After watching I wanted to know more about the characters even the ones I didn't like. Plus it a really nice looking film with outstanding scenery. One of the best things I can say about this movie is I was still thinking about it the next day.
Wish the boyfriend character wasn't written as as such a one-dimensional lout, but otherwise, I enjoyed this quite a bit. "Low-key" is the best way to describe it, but that also lends it an air of authenticity. The two leads actually possess a fair amount of chemistry. The drinking game scene is a stand-out. Rather surprised by this one.

- Erros de gravaçãoWhen Harper and James are outside drinking on the first night, a crew member is clearly visible, reflected in the windows, for almost the entire scene.
