The Institute

I enjoyed this movie much more than I'd expected. The other reviews don't mention how much FUN it was. Yes it's an independent film but the premise and the actors were pretty good. The Couple worked well together and The Doctor was suitably creepy. It was certainly entertaining :)

I only watched this for the male lead who at least tries to act and has many nearly nude scenes. The females have some total nude scenes, and I mention the nudity because this film offers little else. At times it seems to border on an adult film, but it's just a dull and lifeless mess, in which characters only act in the way they act in bad movies. There is no horror or scares to this at all. Poorly filmed, it was obvious some scenes were filmed with a green screen and badly, as the actors were strangely outlined. Not worth anyone's time.

I thought the actors portraying our protagonists, Daniel and Marie, did a reasonable job. Some have commented that the rest of the characters were not well acted, but I think it was a conscious decision on the part of the filmmakers to have most of the characters appear to be "wrong" in one way or another. The head of "The Institute" appeared somehow divorced from his emotions. I've seen worse ways to spend 90 minutes.

Holy Moses! This is one bad movie. The Writer/Director/Star/Everything-man has zero talent and needs to get out of the business.

The writing is horrible. I mean the script is so poor it's on welfare. You won't see such horrible acting even in a Troma movie.

And the directing is so poor you'll be bored out of your mind before 15 minutes go by.

Honestly, I waited this out to see if there was any good nudity. There isn't. The sex scene is as boring as the film. Who's a thunk it?

Oh, and I didn't mention the musical score. It sucks too. The most annoying tracks you'll ever hear. This is just a really bad movie you will want to miss.

What a waste of time. The script must have been written by a 5 year old. Way too much gratuitous sex and nudity. A sort of orgy that seemed out of place and unnecessary. Of course all female nudity and very little male nudity. Heaven forbid we see a man's genitals. If it was supposed to be a horror flick, it failed. The "special effects" were so bad, it looked like amateur hour. It was only creepy. In my opinion the acting was terrible. All the secondary characters were insignificant and were a waste. Jarred Harper is a good actor but was wasted in this movie. The ending was stupid and didn't give the audience any closure. Don't waste your time.
