Osmanli Cumhuriyeti

After I watched Osmanli Cumhuriyeti, V For Vendetta came to my mind. They can be put to same category. I can easily call this movie a Satirical and Political film with an alternative history.

What could have happened if Atatürk died when he was a small child. Today's situation in Turkey is not that far from what is shown in the movie.

Also the funny moments in the movie did not make me laugh, but they made me think All those jokes were full of irony.

The movie also shows why Turks fought for their country without weapons, shoes or food in harsh conditions while many Middle Eastern countries that were colonized by the imperialist countries did not. The movie tries to show the Turkic passion for freedom, but fails to show what Turks could have done in dire situations.

Ataturk was just a catalyst for Turkish identity, enlightenment and their freedom. If he never existed, Turks would have chosen another leader for them. Whatever today's situation is, there will be no way anyone to put Turks in a cage. History always repeats itself.

Osmanli Cumhuriyeti is basically not a comedy but a drama.

There are some funny stuff in the movie but the dramatic side is much heavier. I felt like the author (Gani Mujde) wants to tell an interesting story together with some fun but he fails to combine that Sultan's loneliness with the fun.

Actually the movie would be much better if there is no comedy parts in it or would be a good comedy if the loneliness would not have been told that much.

But still I recommend this movie if you want to watch some drama and if you like Ata Demirer who acts quite good in the movie.

We watched this wonderful movie. İt's exceed our expectation.Only the thing is missing, I indicated at the summary.So many non Turkish background ( middle eastern etc. )were present at the movie.I am sure they enjoyed at some points but,they didn't understand main purpose of the movie story. Because we are the Turkısh background,We know our history so,we can understand what's going on in the stream of the movie. You have some introduction of course,beginning of the movie but,those are not enough for non Turkish people.I don't think it's so difficult to add simple writing introduction at the beginning of this wonderful movie for foreign watchers. Many regards.

I heard many things about this move, positive and negative critics. But As a son of Ataturk and also Faith Sultan Mehmet, one can never say this film is a waste of time.

It clearly shows what would have had been if Atatürk ( miracle of God for Turk people) was someone ordinary not a legend. Turkish people will be economically and politically enslaved, our paradise would rather be the colonial of the Capitalism..

There really are some points that the author(Gani Müjde) could think and write better.. because it brought many responsibility like resembling a unique way of fictitious Turkish History.

I want to thank Gani Müjde for drawing attention to this topic, and Ata Demirer who is the one of the greatest artists of Turk cinema(of course from my standpoint) , and Vildan Atasever's mother for giving birth to those beautiful lady.

I watched this film las week. I was wondering that film..it said that '' if Ataturk isn't been'' always. someone have to film that idea and have to make good ..of course that person may be Gani Müjde. if I choice that person you can sure I would choice Gani Müjde. because I had seen 'Kahpe Bizans' and I had liked and laughed.. I thought that movie must be like that.. But I couldn't find my expectations in the film. Film is like theater game..there is no crowd at scenes , visually .I thin it used low budge for movie.That idea deserves more budge. there is unnecessary love story in movie too Osman VII between a girl who is resistance. Ata Demirer said that ''they didn't use me'' too. I mean there is a lot of absents in that film..intent is good ,idea is good but movie is not good enough..
