FBI Season 8 Update Hints At Scola's Potential New Partner
Image
The latest update on FBIseason 8 hints that Scola is getting a new partner, as a familiar face joins the cast. Since the departure of Katherine Renee Kane early in season 7, with Special Agent Tiffany Wallace stepping away from the job, FBI has been in a state of flux. ‘Off Campus’ Amazon Series Casts Season 1 Couple Hannah & Garrett, Future Leads Logan, Tucker, Dean & Allie
Image
Amazon MGM Studios has assembled the main cast of its new YA series Off Campus, based on the best-selling book series by Elle Kennedy.

Ella Bright (The Crown), Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn), Mika Abdalla (The Pitt), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Stephen Kalyn (Gen V) and Josh Heuston have been tapped as series regulars in the Prime Video romantic drama, created by Louisa Levy who serves as co-showrunner alongside Gina Fattore.

There are 5 books in Kennedy’s Off-Campus series, which depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.

Nicolas Cage Says There Has Been Chatter About 'National Treasure 3'
Image
Nicolas Cage fans have been teased by the actor’s possible return to one of his beloved franchises for many years now, and it seems that they may have to wait a bit longer as the actor recently shared a disappointing, if slightly optimistic, view on the chancesof National Treasure 3 ever happening.

Cage is currently starring in The Surfer, another wild and unpredictable movie that has landed a strong set of reviews for the actor. While promoting the film, Cage spoke to MovieWeb’s George Edelman, and as well as discussing his current movie, he gave a short response to the chances for fans finally getting to see Benjamin Franklin Gates heading out in search of another “national treasure” in the near future. Cage said:

National Treasure 3 Is Long Overdue After Disney's Failed Streaming Plan
Image
National Treasure 3 is needed more than ever after the cancelation of National Treasure: Edge of History. The franchise's last movie was released in 2007 and set up National Treasure 3 by teasing the mysterious contents on page 47 of the United States presidents' book of secrets. Despite this setup for a direct sequel, the franchise remained dormant for the next 15 years, until a spinoff series, National Treasure: Edge of History, debuted on Disney+ in 2022.

While Edge of History did feature connections to the movies and saw some of the original cast members reprising their roles, including Justin Bartha's Riley Poole and Harvey Keitel's Agent Peter Sadusky, the series proved to not be as popular, and was canceled after one season. 17 years after National Treasure: Book of Secrets, the enticing page 47 National Treasure cliffhanger remains unaddressed, as does the opportunity to see Nicolas Cage play Benjamin Franklin Gates again. It...

Image
There’s a recasting going on in CBS’ smash-hit series FBI.

If you don’t know, a new cast member joined the show in season 7: National Treasure: Edge of History star Lisette Olivera. However, she will now only appear in a handful of episodes before exiting the series.

As she’s only 25 years old, the role may have been miscast. As Deadline put it, “she played too young for an FBI Special Agent.”

Now, TV Line has provided an update on who might be replacing her in a new role on the show.

FBI Season 7 Update Gives New Details On Tiffany’s Replacement (After First Attempt Didn’t Last)
Image
An update on FBI season 7 offers new details on the replacement for Tiffany after the show's first attempt didn't work out. Katherine Renee Kane departed the FBI cast in the premiere episode of FBI season 7, with Special Agent Tiffany Wallace confessing that she no longer has the desire to do the job. National Treasure: Edge of History actor Lisette Olivera was brought in to play Scola's new partner, but the change was temporary and the CBS procedural ultimately decided to go in a different direction.

TVLine has shared an update on how FBI plans to proceed with Tiffany's replacement after Olivera's quick departure, revealing that casting is currently underway for a female agent in her thirties with significant undercover experience. This would be a recurring role, with the option of becoming a series regular in the future. It's worth noting that the main FBI series has already been renewed for two additional seasons,...

FBI Season 7, Episode 4 Review: Average Debut for a Short-Lived Character
Image
The following contains major spoilers for FBI Season 7, Episode 4, "Doubted," which debuted Tuesday, Nov. 12 on CBS. It also contains discussion of sexual assault.

FBI Season 7, Episode 4, "Doubted" is a surprisingly underwhelming episode of the CBS show, but the surprise wears off when one learns the circumstances around it. The installment is the debut of National Treasure: Edge of History star Lisette Olivera, who was cast to fill the vacancy created when Katherine Renee Kane left the series. As such, "Doubted" is truly constructed around Olivera's character Sydney "Syd" Ortiz and everyone else feels like they're just along for the ride. But then there's a catch that makes it even more complicated.

"Doubted" begins when Sydney's sister Melanie Ortiz is attacked by a stranger in her apartment. Dissatisfied with the police response, Sydney convinces Isobel Castille to make it an FBI case, and naturally uncovers a much larger crime.

FBI Season 7's New Series Regular Exits Before Onscreen Debut Even Airs
Image
The search for Tiffany's replacement continues, as FBI's new series regular departs before her episode even airs. Citing a desire to move on to different opportunities, Katherine Renee Kane exited during FBI season 7 and the character of Special Agent Tiffany Wallace was written off in the premiere of the seventh installment. Although it seemed like the CBS procedural might have found a permanent replacement, the latest update confirms that the search will continue.

Deadline reports that National Treasure: Edge of History actor Lisette Olivera is departing FBI, with her exit occurring before her character even debuts on-screen. The actor is set to portray Syd Ortiz, a trained Behavioral Analysis Unit Agent that joins the agency's New York field office criminal division. Lisette Olivera, who was added to the cast as a new series regular for Season 7 this past summer, is leaving the hit CBS procedural after filming a handful of episodes, Deadline has learned. I Wanted National Treasure 3 More Than A TV Show, But I'm Still Glad Edge Of History Happened
Image
I've been waiting over 15 years for a third National Treasure movie, but National Treasure: Edge of History was a good addition to the original films' universe. Airing from 2022 to 2023, National Treasure: Edge of History was a television continuation of the National Treasure franchise made famous by lead actor Nicolas Cage. Instead of Cage, the show follows a young woman (Lisette Olivera) whose love of puzzle-solving gets her and her friends involved in a dangerous hunt for history's long-lost treasure. Though he doesn't appear in the show, National Treasure: Edge of History honors Cage with some Easter eggs.

While National Treasure: Edge of History had mixed reviews, I thought it was able to accomplish what it aimed to do. It honored the original series, expanded on the lore from the films, and introduced new and engaging plotlines. Unfortunately, National Treasure: Edge of History was canceled after only one season, so National Treasure 3...

National Treasure 3s Biggest Story Challenge Is Why I Want To See The Nicolas Cage Threequel So Badly
Image
National Treasure 3 has a big story challenge that makes me want to see the third installment in the franchise even more badly. Starring Nicolas Cage as Benjamin Gates, National Treasure centers around the titular character's adventures while searching for treasure. Following the success of National Treasure: Book of Secrets in 2007, a threequel was greenlit that same year with production development beginning in 2008. However, it's been 16 years, and National Treasure 3 still hasn't happened. Given the success of the National Treasure movies, the fact that National Treasure 3 has remained in development hell for this long is surprising.

Instead of National Treasure 3, a series titled National Treasure: Edge of History which didn't star Nicolas Cage was created. Unfortunately, the show received disappointing reviews from critics and was canceled only after one season. The future of National Treasure 3 has been uncertain for years. Cage and Diane Kruger have hinted...

National Treasure 3 Will Struggle To Break The Franchise's Divisive Rotten Tomatoes Record
Image
All indications suggest that National Treasure 3 won't be able to break the franchise's divisive Rotten Tomatoes score. When the National Treasure movies were released, they were panned by critics, with both movies receiving Rotten Rt scores. Following the release and success of National Treasure: Book of Secrets, there was an expectation that there would be a third installment in the franchise shortly after. However, it's been 17 years since National Treasure 2 and National Treasure 3 still hasn't happened.

Seeing as the movies were popular with audiences, a TV show, National Treasure: Edge of History, which didn't have Nicolas Cage in the cast, was released in 2022. Unfortunately for the show's future, it didn't go over well with critics and was ultimately canceled. However, this issue it faced was not unique to the show, as the movies - in spite of their reputations with fans - suffered from the same problem.

National Treasure 3...

National Treasure 3 Concept Trailer Imagines Nicolas Cage's Franchise Return & Oscar-Winning Villain Actor
Image
A new fan-made trailer imagines the return of Nicolas Cage as Benjamin Gates for an action-packed new adventure involving an old ship. The trailer teases Jessica Chastain's introduction as the film's key villain. Though Cage has previously expressed doubt regarding National Treasure 3, the director, producer, and screenwriter have all expressed optimism, and work on the script remains ongoing.

10 Threequels Fans Deserved But Never Got
Image
Sometimes, a movie does so well that it spawns a sequel. But after that, the franchise just ends; there isn't a third installment, no matter what was promised or how badly fans want one. Sometimes fans will wait years for a threequel only to be bitterly disappointed.

There are many reasons a threequel might not go ahead. Perhaps the sequel pulled in less money than was expected or even totally bombed. Or, perhaps a threequel simply got stuck in "development hell" as the producers moved on to other things. It can be very trying for fans because it usually means the story is left unfinished.

The long-gestating sequel to the National Treasure series has been in high demand from fans for years, but will Disney ever produce National Treasure 3? Debuting in 2004 with the release of the eponymous film, the series follows historian Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) who hunts the globe for artifacts pertaining to early American history and uncovers a cryptic series of clues that lead back to the nation's founding.
