This movie was beyond horrendous. Any score above 4, if you click on the users names, its the only review they have ever done and a recently created account. Clearly trying to prop up the movie.
I wouldn't watch this again even if i was paid $100. I don't need $100 that badly to be put through this again.

First of all, why was this even made. The script was bad, the direction was non existent and the actors really didn't want to be there. AVOID!
Also look at the user profiles for all the high rated reviews for this, all made about 3 weeks ago with one single review, this movie.

The movie just dragged on! It's not funny or entertaining, even the "drama and comedy skits" are boring as heck. Seriously boring, the drama was incredibly mundane, it's like watching a kid trying to throw a fit without actually crying. Everything just seemed forced and unnatural. The actors didn't even seem to want to be there. They litterally seemed like "is the scene done? Cool, I got a thing to get to"
Honestly it's not worth the time to watch. It litterally felt like a 3 or 4 hour movie, it just seemed to keep going and there's nothkng to keep your attention. Sorry if that's mean, it's just the truth.

Plus, all the accounts from which 9/10 or 10/10 reviews came from are all made exactly 7 months ago (for this movie specifically, I'm assuming) and that is their only review ever. Classic bots that are payed to boost up a movie so more people would watch it.
Don't even bother with this one, guys. Just... don't. You can tell all throughout the movie that actors did it only because of the money, not because they believe in project. They don't even believe in their characters even WHILE playing them!
There were some small efforts, so I'm giving it 3/10.

I gave this a 9 out of 10 and think these ratings are off. My wife and I went to see if this past weekend. First I will say she dragged me to go - I thought it would be lame. The beginning was a little slow but then everytime I looked over she was smiling and chuckling. The more I saw she was really enjoying it, I guess I let me guard down and I found myself getting sucked into the story and this family. The mom, I think Shawnee from Becker was really convincing, felt like it was my own wife at the helm and I found myself on the journey with this family. I am a little embarrased to say this film choked me up. Its not a straight out comedy but it has funny parts and real emotion to it. It plays great in the theater but also a fun one to cuddle up infront of the fire on demand.

I just watched this film and was thoroughly impressed. I went into it expecting a lifetime movie of the week. Instead, I found a character driven story about a woman juggling motherhood while wrestling her own insecurities. The movie had plenty of heart and left you with a feeling that only a Christmas movie can. The acting was strong, too, especially the girl who played the daughter.

Christmas vs. The Walter's is one of the best Christmas films in years! I loved the cast, headed by Shawnee Smith and Dean Winters as The Walters. The two had great chemistry on screen and it showed. Paris Bravo, who plays their daughter is a future star as is Betsy Beutler who plays Shawnee's estranged sister. While they're are new fresh faces, there are also familiars as well. Chris Elliott shows he is a comedic genius as the crazy Dr. Tom, Nate Torrance totally nails the annoying neighbor Shelly, Bruce Dern as the Walter's patriarch, Richard Thomas as Winters boss and even Joe D'Onofrio from Goodfellas and Bronx Tale as an ELF!!! I won't get into the story but it's an emotional role coaster of emotions and a fresh take on the holiday season. Can't wait for it to be OnDemand, glad I was able to catch it in theaters last night. You should too.

It's been a rocky 2 years and this film is just what I needed. Took my daughter yesterday in Tucson and really enjoyed it - so relatable and for moms we sometimes get the short end of the stick. In love this family, not nearly as much as my own but really loved it - it's really a fun one. Go see it.

I have seen lots of films on Hallmark etc and I expected something similar NOT. This wasn't a typical cookie cutter Christmas film, I was totally entertained and it was so fresh to see a real family trying to get through the holidays. Chris Elliott was so funny and the Mayhem man!!! Felt like they followed me and my family around for a few days LOL A must see for any fellow moms out there. I can't wait to get it on demand as well - thank you Shawnee Smith.

A new take on a Christmas story. It's not all marshmellows, but instead, it follows a normal game with normal problems with one, the matriarch trying to hold it together. It's fun, funny, heatwarming, and a new addition to the Christmas Movie lineup.
It's not your typical Lifetime movie, it's much better.

The ratings are all over the place for this film maybe its a love hate type of thing -- I actually rented this on cable with my wife thinking its was a comedy, its not a comedy but it has some funny moments but the drama side caught me for surprise. My wife loved it and that was all I could ask for. I am a big Chris Elliott Fan -- love everything he does, it was a different role for him but it worked and the family grew on me as well. It isn't the fastest moving film out there and not too much of XMAS glitz but it has a really good message if you pay attention to it. I give it a great effort for trying to be its own thing and not pump out the same man + girl falling in love type story on Lifetime. It was something I could actually watch and tell people at work what I did. Dog was cute too.

Just the right amount of dysfunction mixed with funny, human moments we can all relate to. The movie has a kinetic energy to it that makes you feel like you are one of the family along for a wild ride.

I saw this last night with my boyfriend. It was such an enjoyable date night, movie was funny yes but it had such a great message of family. I haven't seen my extended family in 2 years du to covid - can't wait to drive to Kansas City this holiday - must check it out in theaters or on demand when it comes out.

If you are expecting a polished, in-a-box-with-a-bow movie then watch something on Lifetime, no offense they have nice stuff BUT you actually need to have a heart and a mind to enjoy this movie. It keeps you engaged, makes you laugh - acting is really solid, and then it really tugs at your heart in unexpected ways and makes you think "what really is most important at this time of the year?" It was a nice experience in the theater with my husband, he turned to me and said "OMG do you feel like this?" I just whimpered and made him buy me a nice dinner LOL but seriously its a really good movie, highly recommend you rent it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little film from Long Island. It was a nice respite from the usual action driven movies. I will recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet tale of teens, and family drama that will leave you uplifted.

Finally! A true Christmas family movie that is real life. Dysfunctional funny and filled with moments that truly make you think. In the end family is all that matters! This movie is so relatable.

I was very surprised at this film when I recently saw it in a theater. It looks really beautiful. It's deeper and has a better storyline than I initially thought. It is defiantly not a typical Christmas film. I really got into the characters and Diane played by Shawnee Smith is so great, I know so many moms like her as well as the rest of the Walters family. There are funny parts of the film to keep it light, especially with Dr. Tom and the neighbor but its the relationships between the three generations that make it special and worth watching - definitely recommend it for all the moms out there, their significant others.

Really enjoyed this film (especially with this crazy world we live in). Was a great escape and all the members of my family loved it (ages 7, 9, 11, 4?, and me). Add this to your Holiday "must see" list!

A good movie for the family and kids , don't expect sick jokes even if a few scenes make me laugh but the most important is the introduction of the amazing , lovely and delicious Paris Bravo who play a big part of the scenes and we hope we will see the delicious and talented Paris Bravo in Christmas vs the walthers 2.

Christmas vs the Walters is a Must Watch for the Christmas Season - A New Spin on Holiday Movies.
Normal family dysfunction; I thought I was watching my own family!
Three generations of Grandma, Mother and Daughter that try to all pull it together. A mothers work is never done and always even more hyper to make the holidays perfect. Thank you to the cast and crew that made a movie FINALLY that we can all relate to. Family, Memories and being together; no matter the problems we have with one another - let t go and be happy. Especially LOVED seeing that Brian realized there needs to be more time...promotions and monies are not the most important part of him being a husband and father!
We should all learn a lesson from this movie -ESPECIALLY now powering out of COVID-19. We need to cherish one another.
