In recent years, Netflix has made a lot of changes to its standard operating procedures, and one that is becoming increasingly part of its release plans is breaking up series into blocks. The world’s largest streaming service will release the second half of “Bridgerton” Season 3 in June looking to capitalize on the success of the first four episodes that were released last month. Also coming to the streaming giant this month will be the final season of fantasy drama series “Sweet Tooth,” the Glen Powell-led action comedy “The Hitman” and much more.

Netflix offers three different subscription options, on the low end is the Standard With Ads option for just $6.99 per month. However, if you prefer your streaming without commercial interruptions, you can opt for the Standard plan for $15.49 monthly or the Premium option for $22.99.

Adding another £4.79m in the past seven days, The Lego Movie now stands at a sturdy £26.67m after three weeks of play. That puts it level with the lifetime tallies of blockbusters including Spider-Man 2 (£26.72m) and Ocean's Eleven (£26.47m), and ahead of fellow animations including Ratatouille (£24.80m) and Wall-e (£22.91m). The Lego Movie will pretty soon overtake the likes of Shrek (£29m) and A Bug's Life (£29.45m) and is clearly headed into the mid-30s (£m).

Although box office for The Lego Movie is certainly skewed to the weekend, its decent performance in the Monday-to-Thursday period suggests that it is picking up a true adult audience, rather than merely adult chaperones of children.

Ice Cube may team with David O'Russell to creaste a franchise that is "an homage to those 70s pictures like Dirty Harry and Death Wish." Vulture reports (via Deadline) that cube would "play a plainclothes detective who's quick on the trigger in an R-rated raw drama that's thematically a throwback." Cube was last seen in Warner Bros. Pictures' "Lottery Ticket" as well as 2009's "Janky Promoters" and prior to that "The Longshots." H is currently filming "Rampart" from "The Messenger" helmer Oren Moverman. That film stars Ben Foster, Steve Buscemi, Sigourney Weaver, Robin Wright, Woody Harrelson, Jon Bernthal, Anne Heche and Cynthia Nixon.

It’s probably safe to assume that Ice Cube will never be working with the Weinstein Company again, after what he said the other day on a radio show about the brothers, and the way they treated his last film he made with them, Janky Promoters.

O.K. granted, it was no masterpiece, and, in fact, a couple of months ago, we put up a link on S & A where you could see the entire film (and I even never bothered to watch it - not even for free). But it’s still interesting to hear what he said. The comments start around the 2:05 minute mark.

Today the Chicago Sun Times has a story about the rejection of documentary For Love of Liberty: the Story of America’s Black Patriots by white filmmaker and former Vietnam vet Frank Martin. The four hour doc which is hosted by Halle Berry and narrated by several celebrities such as Angela Bassett, Danny Glover, John Travolta and the late Ossie Davis and Walter Cronkite was snubbed by Wal-Mart for inclusion for their special Black History Month promotions in favor of more stereotyped “gangsta’ thug” movies.

According to Martin:

“To not include that but to include the gangster rap things just seems crazy to me,” he said. “It just defies logic.

“At a time when we need to influence young people with positive things, why would they not carry this amazing story?”

In response a Wal-Mart spokesman said that what titles made the promotion list was based on release date, price and popularity.

It’s been a real busy year for comedic actor Mike Epps. First, he just wrapped production on the film Lottery Ticket (also starring Ice Cube, Brandon T. Jackson and Bow Wow), plus he starred in The Janky Promoters (another film starring Ice Cube, and Little Jj). He also hosted the 3rd Annual Bet Hip Hop Awards, and he launched several music videos for his hip hop venture titled Funny Bidness.

But that’s not all; The biggest news for Epps the past couple of months has been the heat of his stand-up comedy DVD titled Mike Epps: Under Rated & Never Faded which was filmed in Detroit. We just discovered that the Showtime network has stated that the special has posted some serious numbers, more than they have seen in a while.

Atlanta — Ice Cube and Mike Epps have reunited for their fifth film together, "Lottery Ticket," which comes out next year. As Epps told us during the Bet Hip-Hop Awards taping, he and the rap icon are actually supporting another star rapper in the movie: Bow Wow.

"Bow Wow and Brandon T. Jackson [are the stars]," Epps said. "Me and Cube are actually almost doing cameos in this movie. It's for Lil' Bow Wow and them. But we all help each other out in this business."

Earlier this year, Epps and Cube shot the movie "Janky Promoters," which also stars Young Jeezy. The movie, which centers on two shifty music promoters, has yet to be released while Cube and company have been negotiating the comedy's distribution. Meanwhile, Epps is releasing the comedy/rap...

Ice Cube has taken a strange path to stardom moving from a gangsta rapper with "N.W.A.", to starring in Boyz 'n the Hood and Friday to suddenly playing the madcap father in family comedies such as Are We There Yet? and his latest feature doesn't sound like it is much of a diversion from the family comedies. Variety reports Cube will star in Ride Along for New Line. Cube will play a rogue cop with a soft spot for his sister. When she reveals she's engaged to an upper-crust white psychiatrist, the cop sets out to destroy the relationship by inviting his future brother-in-law on a ride-along. No director is attached, but the script was initially penned by Greg Coolidge with a rewrite by Steve Faber and Bob Fisher. The actor whose genres are mainly focused in the action or comedy genres, is currently filming "Janky Promoters" and is in rumored to to join "The A-Team" as the famed Sgt. Bosco "B.A." Baracus character played on the TV series by Mr. T.

Rapper Young Jeezy will play the hip-hop artist at the center of writer-actor-producer Ice Cube's forthcoming comedy "Janky Promoters," about a pair of shady concert promoters in over their heads. Marcus Raboy ("Friday After Next") is directing the Dimension Films comedy, which is already shooting, and Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez is producing.

Jeezy, in his first film role, joins Mike Epps and Terry Crews in Cube's first screenplay since "Friday After Next."

The multiplatinum rap star is working on the release of his third album, "The Recession," through Cte/Def Jam.

Marcus Raboy is set to direct Janky Promoters, the latest comedy from writer-actor-producer Ice Cube. Mike Epps and Terry Crews also have joined the cast. All four are alumni of the 2002 comedy Friday After Next, which Raboy directed and Cube wrote and starred in with Epps and Crews.

Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez also will produce.

Janky follows the shenanigans of a pair of shady concert promoters (Cube and Epps), self-described "Modesto's finest", who get in over their heads when they get a shot at booking a big-name hip-hop act (an actual rapper whose deal was closing Tuesday). Complications come in the form of a pot-growing neighborhood nemesis named Mondo and Cube's character's son (Nickelodeon star Little JJ), who is under contract with the old man.

Shooting begins Monday in Sherman Oaks, though the movie is set in Modesto, Calif., and takes place in a single day.

"It's Cube going back to his roots as a writer and an actor," Raboy said.
