Rarely do I watch German shows. This one is unexpected. I am a fan of Max Mauff. Love his performance in movies and TV shows. In this one, he really delivered something.

But I am most impressed by the writing, the script of the show. When I was watching the last episode, the structure calls back to the beginning of the show. I felt like gut-punched, tears were rolling down. The writing is so intricate and so well-thought, structurally and emotionally.

I do also enjoy the small quirky little details and jokes and how Emma is so cool and Max got pissed. It is cool stuff. The show also tried to address social issue with the big background of Berlin.

It's definitely a good show, and the script is just superb.

I just watched all 6 episodes of this series via ARD/ZDF mediathek (a free and public streaming service here in Germany) and was stunned by how unexpectedly good the show is. I usually don't enjoy German shows just because of the bad acting and uninteresting plots (there are exceptions of course) - I am German by the way.

And this is a big exception for me. The acting was really great, the characters unique and both lovable and questionable at the same time, like most of us probably are.

Besided the sad and melancholic undertone the show has hilarious dialogues and scenes which made me laugh quite often (doesn't happen with many other things I watch), sometimes the absurd humor reminded me of "Herr Lehmann" and its characters.

The Berlin setting just added more flavor for me, since that's also the place where I personally live.

It's a little show that you will still feel inside you after it is over. Hopefully in the bittersweet and funny way it is told.

I had to stop watching in the middle of the very first episode as it is too depressing for myself. But they did a good job, just too sad for a mom to watch.
