The movie was superb. Venkatesh nailed it and background score too. Excellent performances. Only problem is that any director may repeat the same feat which is a remake. You need to tweak a little bit to show the signature style or modifying. It's a full remake that's why I'm giving 8.

Narappa is not awful and tedious, it is a confirmed twin of Asuran. The songs was copied and Venkatesh portrayal was awesome.

Superrrrrrr venky mama in beast mode and its a treat for tollywood....and every one did there role excellent.

Narappa= Venkatesh. He deserves a national award and the best scene in the movie was when his son narrates about his brother on the top of the hill. You can see tears in Narappa's eyes. Venkatesh nailed this character, his age is suitable for this character. I don't want to compare Dhanush with Venkatesh but Venkatesh's acting, appearance, attitude are far more convincing than Dhanush's. Dhanush was awesome but Venkatesh is apt for this kind of role.

Frame to frame remake. Will work for those who haven't watched tamil movie 'asuran'. Performances were very good especially venkatesh sir!! Music was very nice.

I watched Asuran earlier. But after watching Venky's performance in Narappa, I felt this to be original and Asuran its remake.

Venky mama performance is great. It is a good thing to stick to the original movie. It's a ditto remake. It is a good one to watch.

Toned downed the issues portrayed in the original film, Asuran, to problems within a family, such a travesty!

The original Asuran (dubbed in Telugu) is way better than the Telugu remake, Narappa.

The movie is so good and the acting of Venkatesh is really good. It will be one of his best movie in career. Even though the movie is a remake of Asuran, the Direction was so nice and Rayalaseema nativity was not missed.

This is an example of Tollywood cinema, a Telugu film whose industrial center is Hyderabad in the Telangan region.

Narappa is a father fighting to save his land, his wife, his children, his sandals, his dignity. He's very resilient, until the bad guys attack his children or his wife directly, and then he takes out the axe and takes his revenge. Narappa is played by Venkatesh Daggubati, who's very good at playing the beaten dog until he bursts into a fury (where he's less believable).

Here, the protagonists are going to fight with axes and billhooks because one of them is wearing a pair of sandals (and the bad guys don't like that) or to take justice into their own hands, because the authorities aren't enforcing justice. Above all, it's about territorial problems: the villains steal land from the poor or subhuman. It's a society of inferiors, and of haves defended by the police. It's also a phallocratic, medieval society where women are inferior objects.

It's a cinema of narration, but not of concision: lots of slow motion, lots of voice-overs that overload and tell what needs to be understood, lots of dialogue to make sure everyone understands. Lots of flashbacks too, again for explanatory purposes. There's no room for madness here, but injustice always has to be explained.

Venkatesh's screen presence is what wanted for the story and they dont spoil the plot.

Venkatesh is on fire.. best of his work yet... But comparing to orginal ,Dhanush nailed it but felt like Venkatesh was close to nailing it.

Other than that its simply good...

In flashback pair is like father and daughter, addaala copied makki to makki, at least bgm should be original, even that copied waste.

This movie is as good as Asuran.

All the actors performance was great to watch and Venkatesh carried the whole movie, in the beginning when I've heard the news about remake I had my doubts but VV proved me wrong. Couple of things bothered me while watching the movie though.

Priyamani's voice is the worst thing that happened to this movie, her voice and slang are annoying throughout the movie and didn't feel natural at all whenever she says something I was cringing hard, they should have used a dubbing artist instead.

Another issue is music, why did Mani Sharma get credit for the music? He used the same music & tunes from Asuran which was composed by G. V. Prakash, they should have used GV and given him credit instead of bringing in Mani to use the same score.

Other than these two things movie is enjoyable with family.

Venky mama done a excellent job as narappa. Especially in action sequences we will surely see a new venky mama and in emotional scenes we will definitely connect to venky mama. I watched asuran. In asuran danush performance was solid. Even though when iam watching narappa,I didn't remember danush in my mind,I remembered only venky mama in my mind.

The other actors done good job.

Especially priyamani,karthik ratnam(elder son of narappa in movie) and rajiv kanakala done very good job.

Coming to technical aspects :

The film is technically solid. The village backdrop in the movie is neat and fresh.

The cinematography is very good.

The editing is good

Songs are decent but BGM is very very good.

We will surely get goosebumps while watching action scenes with BGM.

Coming to director srikanth addala, he done good job by choosing this subject. Even though he didn't do any changes in script but he succeeded in casting.he done a good job by casting venky mama and others. The dialogs written by him are good.

Final verdict : Narappa is a well-made family drama that has solid action and emotions.
