    "Pepper spray! That sounds delicious!"

I remember missing this show when the first episode came on. I thought "No big deal, It's probably not that good." Don't make that assumption! I got a call from my friend telling me that it was pretty good, so I watched it. It is now one of the only things I watch on television, and I never grow tired on the jokes and over-all absurdities of the show. I also am a big fan of the voices, including the kids, and, of course, Dana Snyder of Aqua teen and Venture Brothers and John Dimaggio of Futurama and Gears of war! All I can say is, I'm a fifteen year old (I act older) who watches many adult shows, and this beats them all out! Watch it. You'll love it if you know what your getting into. The only thing I would have done differently is more references, and I'd probably screw it up or make it no longer for kids! ~Ciao~ Andrew V.

    Definitely something different.

This show is definitely something different. It's like this; either you love it or you hate it. I haven't spoken to many people who just like it or think it's okay.

As for my friends and I, we think it's hilarious and unique. The animation style is like is nothing short of Seuss-esquire. If you watch a few episodes of the show, you'll see that there are no boundaries when it comes to character design. Chowder himself is some sort of little cat, Truffles is a little old lady, and I just can't tell what the heck Schnitzel is. Some characters are humanoid, some are animals, and sometimes even the food speaks! As for the voice acting, the kids are the highlight of the show. Nicky Jones (Chowder) is unbelievably talented for his age. I've never heard a child actor with as much individuality before! Sure, the gags can be a little crass, but it's a kid's show, a cartoon. Where else can you fit in a decent fart joke (or a pet fart) and get away with it? While some parts of the storyline seems a bit rushed at times, the overall outcome is absolutely worth watching.

Best show on cartoon network (and adult swim)

About a year ago Chowder started playing on Cartoon Network and I have been a fan since day one! This show is about Chowder, a cat, bear bunny thing that is an apprentice of Mung Daal, a very old blue man. Mung is the greatest cook in the world and makes funny dishes such as Beveled eggs and Crabige cobbler. All of the food names are puns. Ex:Blutter (butter)I am 16 and not a lot of people I know watch it because they say cartoons are for kids. I really don't care because I am enjoying Chowder too much. Most of the T.V I watch are cartoons. But if you like The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack I can guarantee that you will like Chowder twice as much. This show is great for kids and also for adults. I watch it with my 6 year old sister and my 35 year old father and we all laugh until it hurts! The reason most older people watch this show is because it has a lot of adult humor but is still very appropriate for all ages. You are making a very big mistake if you are saying, "I don't watch cartoons" Because you are missing out on one of the funniest shows on T.V. Give it a chance.

Proof that good cartoons still exist!

I am a junior in high school, and I have been raised on cartoons. I was raised with great shows such as Ed Edd n Eddy, Rocko's Modern Life, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage, and Johnny Bravo. However, I have come to find that today's cartoons are awful. I will sometimes check out Cartoon Network to see what is playing, and I ended up with horrible dribble such as George of the Jungle, Camp Lazlo, Ben 10, Flapjack, and Johnny Test. However, my faith was resurrected when I happened to come across an interesting new show called Chowder...

Let me just say that Chowder is AWESOME! I won't tell you much about it so you can see for yourself, but let me tell you that this is a completely original and hilarious cartoon. I laugh a lot whenever I watch it. The show has an almost psychedelic element to it, which makes it fun to watch. The show has some great characters, interesting plot lines, great voices, and unique animation. I love everything about it. The story revolves around food (the main character is a chef's apprentice.) Everyone on the show has some kind of food for a name, which include Chowder, Mung-Daal, Shnitzel, Truffles, Penneni, Endive, Gorgonzola, Gespatcho, Chestnut, and Reuben. The humor is usually original and is sometimes completely twisted. Half the time I forget that the show was made for kids, because the humor can be truly appreciated by adults. It's just a great show overall.

If you feel that good 'ol cartoons are dead, this show is definitely worth a look. Who knows, maybe you'll change your mind about cartoons...

My Favorite New Show...And I'm 36 Years Old!

I am a 36 year old mom who watches a lot of cartoons and kid shows (My 9 year old thinks herself Lord And Master Of The Remote). Luckily I like cartoons anyway but nothing could have prepared me for the head-over-heels way I have fallen in love with CHOWDER! Since this is a new show there isn't much I can tell you: The characters are all really weird looking (What IS Chowder anyway? A cat??? A bunny?????) and one character Schnitzel only speaks using one word: "Radda" (I don't know why this joke never worked for me with CoCo on FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS but every time Schintzel says "Radda Radda Radda!" I just fall out of my chair laughing.(For me Schnitzel is the break-through "star" of the show) Most of the story lines so far revolve around food, as Chowder is sort of an apprentice chef. And the jokes are all over the map from goofy to fart jokes to stuff I think is aimed more at the grown up audience. It feels like someone put some stuff from those old BULLWINKLE cartoons, a splash of SPONGEBOB and a tiny bit of FUTURAMA into a blender. This show has that certain type of humor that works for both kids AND grownups.

The other day my daughter was at a friend's house and I was watching CHOWDER and my husband came in and asked me why I was watching cartoons. I made him watch it and I felt totally embarrassed as I proceeded to laugh so hard that I actually cried! He didn't feel as strongly as I did about it, but he DID agree it was a "pretty good show".

I'm glad to come on here and see that I am not the only person older than 12 who enjoys this hilarious, bright, witty new show!

    On A Scale Of 1 - 10 I give CHOWDER 9 Raddas!

A distinctive visual motive is the patterns on the characters' clothing/skin staying the same. The patterns are developed as a full-screen image and then sent to the production house, where the characters are modified to fill the patterns in over the character skin/clothing. With this technique, when a character moves, their patterns do not follow but are displayed as a "static" background.

At the end of the closing credits, the Cartoon Network logo opens to reveal Chowder dragging a sack of food. He pulls out an O from the "Cartoon" and munches on it like a donut; but as he walks off, an apple drops from the sack, and the logo closes with the apple replacing the O.
