Such a fun, fresh, and entertaining show. I grinned the whole way through. The characters are all unique and extremely entertaining, from the mcs to the side characters to the villains (honestly the villains might be the most entertaining of all). Jane and Guilford have great chemistry. The costumes are a feast for the eyes. Just all around a really enjoyable watch that felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the many stale offerings on air at the moment...why the powers that be refused to bless it with another season I will never understand (still hoping someone might swoop in to save it at the last minute...any takers??). Still, the season tells a satisfying story on its own and I'll be going back to rewatch it and telling others to do so as well.
Not sure why people are giving it bad reviews due to lack of historical accuracy. Not only the trailers, but the first five minutes tell you this isn't one of those shows.
It's a lot of fun. I finished it in two nights, and I love the main couple together. The fantasy aspect is random, but the writing manages to make it work.
I knocked off two stars because the cinematography could've been better, and they could've forked out the money to use the original songs as opposed to the terrible cover songs they chose to use instead, (a cover of Kashmir. Really?) or songs that haven't already been used in so many other movies and/or shows. (The Donna's/Goldfrapp)

I gave My Lady Jane a 7, and my biggest heartbreak is that it was wasted-canceled after just two seasons when it had so much more to offer. This series had all the makings of a cult classic: sharp storytelling, a unique and playful twist on history, and absolutely electric chemistry between the leads.
One of the show's strongest aspects was its portrayal of powerful, independent female characters. My Lady Jane didn't just give us passive historical figures; it reimagined them as bold, witty, and fearless women who refused to be defined by the limitations of their time. The female leads weren't just love interests or damsels in distress-they were the heart of the story, making their own choices, fighting their own battles, and driving the narrative forward with intelligence and charisma.
The show's lighthearted yet clever approach to historical fiction made it stand out. It didn't take itself too seriously, yet it managed to weave a compelling and engaging tale filled with humor, adventure, and undeniable charm. The chemistry between the main characters was pure magic-natural, dynamic, and full of the kind of energy that makes you instantly invested in their journey.
It's frustrating to see a series with such potential get cut short, especially when it had just begun to hit its stride. My Lady Jane may not have had the chance to fully develop its story, but what it did deliver was undeniably entertaining. If you love period dramas that celebrate strong women, clever storytelling, and witty romance, this one is definitely worth watching-just be prepared to be left wanting more.

It is quite a rare thing to find a show that is able to capture your attention right off the bat, without stumbling or falling short of living up to its premise. This show has so much going for it, starting with the lovable characters, who you can't help but find entertaining despite their appalling actions. The writing is very funny without sacrificing the seriousness of the situations the characters are thrown in. And the cast is all so incredibly talented, everything about this show works perfectly together.
This show doesn't need to find its footing, it's already an incredibly well made television show. What this show needs is support and time to make people aware of this show, so that they may fall in love with its witty writing, riveting plot and beating heart.
This is a hate letter to prime video, please do not give up on this rare gem of a show.

Funny, lighthearted, interesting, and well -acted. This was the first show in a very long time completely void of any political agenda or other pc nonsense, and it gets cancelled after one season with the story completely hanging in the balance? Hollywood really needs to seriously reevaluate what shows it deems worthy of renewing or canceling, because they've been consistently missing the mark for several years now. Funny show, stupid "ending", and shame on the powers that be for canceling it after only one season. Guess we'll once again be going back to exclusively watching shows made prior to 2020. Ugh...
