Do you ever wonder what lies ahead for the human race 200 years on to the future? Do you think about technological achievements and advancements that could give more convenience to our way of living? Or will you focus more on clinical studies, like the cure for cancer or the secret to living an eternal life? If you ask me, I get amazed whenever I watch films in the futuristic setting. It invites and awakens all of my out of the ordinary thoughts and lets out a celebration. That feel of thrill and excitement burst out of me because I can sense that I'll get to watch the things that I have been storing in my mind for so long. That is why I was overjoyed today when I found out that I am going to review a film in the futuristic science-fiction genre, and to top it off, this one was specified with some drama. It made me wonder how its director Michael Step, will combine the elements of the equilibrium of science and technology with life's shortcomings and family fall out drama. Curious? I know you are, so let's dive into the future 200 years from now in Michael Step short sci-fi drama "Dreaming of the Moon"
Dreaming of the Moon is a work of marvel. It is a story of success, power, greed, and human incapacity for satisfaction, whether it be material, superficial, or intellectual. This sci-fi drama commenced as a son journeys to his father's death bed. Christopher Linus Powers (Chris Capaldi), son of Sir Richard Melville Power (Tony Greengrass) one of the richest and most influential men on earth, who is also the author of the cure of cancer, are meeting for the first and last time in two years after their falling apart because of a mysterious fund that Richard kept from his son Christopher. And for the last time will they be able to patch things up as the father and son they once were? Or will they just wait for Richard's time to run out? I suggest don't wait for 200 years to find out, come and see it as soon as this movie becomes available.
The genre of science fiction is undoubtedly the number one most challenging class in the film industry. It is always a make or break fate if you ask me. Some filmmakers go overboard with complexities and out of the universe set-up however still fail to get the approval of the critics and the audience. While others risk it all with a much-simplified approach while expounding more on an intellectual approach, just like this featured film of Micheal Step. Dreaming of the Moon impressed me with its intrinsic ability to be intellectually compelling; And I like it a lot. Even though it's sci-fi, from the word itself fictional, I simply can't help but be astonished by the futuristic wonders that were at the focal point of the story. You'll feel as if you're taken into the moment and everything has a high possibility to be real. Great work!
