I was super excited to see this. And super disappointed. The plot is paper thin, none of the actors give believable performances, there is ultimately no point to any of it and there is no actual horror anywhere to be found. Points for some decent looking scenes and that's it.

1st...Whoever is giving this movie a 10?...well...you are fired.

2nd...There is no mystery who the killer is(even though they try to play it like that).

3rd...Same performance out of HQS as always...y'know...Angry, Sarcastic, Tough girl w/ resting b%tch face. The only thing this girl has ever done with depth and good performance was CRUEL SUMMER. It's not really basing her acting...it's just they seem to cast HQS in the same character roles( maybe give her a role that's opposite of what she's always cast as).

4th...No horror. Character choices made no sense-none of the characters are likable except the nice latino guy.

5th...This movie was not horror, but Clown shoes.

This is the worst slasher movie I've ever watched. At first I didn't even realize that I was watching a slasher movie until 45 minutes later. I thought I was watching a regular teen movie. The killing scenes were so raw (not in a good way) and obvious, just like the plot. There was no mystery about the murderer at all. There was zero plot twist. I was hoping the main character was actually behind all the killings, but no. It was way too wild for the writer or director to make. They had to make it as simple as they can. And the acting.... Boo! None of them can act moderately, except for the guy who played as the murderer. I guess none of them has real acting skills. There's so many weak points in this movie I can poke around, it's not even fun anymore. It's like poking a dead rat.

All student and no body. We are talking zero substance. An unfortunate Harley Quinn Smith to plot ratio. Had writer-director Lee Ann Kurr done her homework on a genre she clearly knows little about and underestimates, this Gen Z slasher, which is curiously devoid of sharp objects, might not be missing the most important element of a horror flick... horror.

I'm convinced anything HQS is in will be horrible. How is she getting jobs???? I've seen hookers act better.

It's a shame because there are a lot of GOOD actresses getting turned down for roles because they don't have an "in".

2 out of 10 stars because its just awful. Didnt give it 1 because its not a high school student film. Honestly, boring and bad. Half the movie building characters you never care about. Acting is horrible. No real suspense. Save the time wasted and attempt a hail mary at another low budget film. Horrible attempt at a slasher film.

"Student Body" is a plotting bore, that fails to be an entertaining slasher, or a gory horror film and almost made me turn it off.

Starting off with the very little good I have, the lead actress does a commendable job for the little material she is given. There are some decent shots with some cool lighting colors. And that's about it.

Now moving on to the very bad. This movie is such a boring slasher that it's almost impressive. This movies only 89 minutes yet it feels like it's 2 hours. The pacing is so slow. It takes nearly 50 minutes for the movie to finally start to be a slasher. And when it is a slasher it's still a slow, and bloodless bore. The movie also has a very cheap feel to it, as almost every death is offscreen. The characters in this movie are some of the worst horror characters I've seen in a while. Not only are their performances bland, but they make some stupid decisions. The movie falls a lot in horror cliches. A character literally falls over nothing and somehow hurts her foot. The movies plot is all over the place. It hardly has a plot. The movie has no tension at all and is basically just people walking around an empty school and talking. That's it. And finally the "twist" of the movie was painfully obvious. This is supposed to be a who-dunnit kind of slasher, and it's completely obvious.

Overall "Student Body" is a boring slasher that has awful characters, cliches, no plot, no scares, or tension, and features one of the most lazy twists I've ever seen.

This movie honestly has no substance, the acting is god awful, and there's absolutely no plot. I've seen my share of Lifetime movies but this is just comical at how bad it is. I'm seriously questioning how movies like this are able to be funded/made.

To even label this as a horror or thriller is a stretch. Maybe wait until it's free and you have nothing to watch but definitely save your money on this garbage movie.

Soccer is the most boring sport in the world... and yet the most action packed part of this movie is a small clip of one of the teens team losing a game of soccer.

Just another mediocre, gore less, teen "horror" filled with dumb, unlikable characters making dumb decisions to make the dumb plot get to its dumb predictable conclusion.

The mascots mask was ok as far as slasher masks go..

Some of the reviews are commenting that this isn't a horror movie, and they're correct but also seem to be missing the point. While this is teen slasher-esque it seems to be a film that aims to explore teenage angst and navigating the terrors in that chapter of life. If you're wanting a gore fest, this isn't the film for you. If you like the technical side of film, there are really well framed shots and excellent use of lighting throughout. I read this was the director's first film, and I would have never guessed that. It's a film with deeper, psychological scares instead of your run of the mill jump scares and I appreciated that. Definitely worth watching!

A retro movie from the 1990s. I like this movie I think a movie like this is much better than a movie that is too serious or too scary. It's not a bad movie to watch lightly.

The acting is pretty bad...impressively bad honestly. The blonde girl in this movie is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen in my life while everyone else's' acting ranges from okay to bad. There are no likable characters throughout movie. While you cant tell who you are supposed to like its kinda hard to like anyone because they plot is bland and no one is fleshed out. The dialogue sounds like a 50 year old was trying to sound hip and failed. Its a really really boring movie. Its kinda funny how bad it is so that keeps you entertained I guess. Nothing new or interesting but a mindless watch which a lot of us need sometimes.

Though credit should be given (hence the high 3/10 rating) for the absence of gimmicky smart-ass pop culture saturated dialogue plaguing most youth oriented horror films these days, what we get instead is dull brooding teens who do and say nothing remotely interesting for about 45 minutes until it becomes a slasher movie.

It doesn't get much more exciting after that point either.

Short And Simple...Student Body Is a Movie That You Can Watch Once, If You Decide To Take a Gander At It Again...Well You're On Your Own And It's Not as Bad as The Reviews Say It Is, Not To Me Anyway, Like I Said "Not That Good But Also Not That Bad...I Believe I Have Seen a WHOLE Lot Worse, I Know I Have!

I didn't know what I was in for here as I sat down to watch the 2022 movie "Student Body" from writer and director Lee Ann Kurr. I had never even heard about the movie prior to watching it, so I knew absolutely nothing about the movie.

Turns out that "Student Body" was not a movie that offered me any entertainment. The storyline was just simply too mundane and boring. And with virtually nothing interesting happening and an insanely slow paced narrative, then "Student Body" just fell to the floor.

Aside from a bland and boring storyline, then the character gallery in the movie just wasn't all that outstanding or memorable. Most of the characters came off as being one-dimensional puppets. And it reflected poorly on the actresses and actors, as they were given precious little material to work with.

The movie is labeled as a thriller and horror movie. Well, I beg to differ, unless you consider absolute boredom to be a kind of horror.

"Student Body" is not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on.

My rating of "Student Body" lands on a generous two out of ten stars, and that is based mostly on the production value of the movie.

This film wasn't the worst but from the beginning I could tell who was gonna be the killer it was super predictable in every aspect, it has nothing new to offer nothing unique we've seen it before thousands of times, it's good only if you have nothing better to do otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

Jane Shipley is a high school brainy nerd. Her best friend Merritt Sinclair is growing distant as she becomes the Queen Bee of the too-cool-for-school crowd. Their math teacher Mr. Aunspach grows angry that Jane could be diminishing her skills to fit in with Merritt and her slacker friends.

I don't like any of these characters although the premise does hold some interest. I get the idea of not showing the whole sequence of Jane's meeting with Aunspach, but I don't like the ambiguity. It would be better to show the whole incident. I need to have rooting interest in Jane. It's a mixed bag for her and for this movie.

The acting of the young actors and the adult actors was good. It may have been a little lacking, but this is not a bad level to look at. I wish the story was a little more terrifying.

Clues left throughout film with some very intense scenes that were very gripping. Must follow and wait but will not disappoint. Do not want to spoil this for others.

The poster doesn't look very interesting, and the content isn't interesting either. However, there was a lot of hard work, so I watched it to the end. I gave it 5 stars considering myself after seeing it to the end.

This has been classed by some as retro movie from the 1990s. I was born in 1984 and spent the 90s in school. This is not it. For a start, there were no Bluetooth speakers or WiFi, which both feature. Its okay, feels like it's trying to b My Best Friend's Exorcism. And that was a terrible adaptation of a brilliant novel. Don't get the hate for Harley-quinn smith. She does always play the same character but this is maybe a good starter for those looking to get into horror. There are a lot of better movies, I would suggest Scream, Final Destination, Happy Death Day, Initiation. The characters are all unbelievable and over the top. But if you have nothing else to watch, it won't damage you.
