I just don't understand. I've only watched about 2 episodes, of i believe, the second season and it is truly bad. Tyler Perrys been making things forever and i'd think he had it together to make things with good taste. But this falls below short. Its unfortunate.
The tone of the show is very uneven. It switches between comedy and drama in a jarring manner, and many of the sets look cheap. I was looking forward to a show about black women in a positive light, but it seems that the women in this show based their lives around men and not themselves. Hopefully it will improve in time, but so far, I'm not impressed.
As much as I appreciate, commend and stan what Tyler Perry has achieved, I generally don't resonate with his brand of humour. This one seemed a little different, so I gave it a try. Season 1 starts off really well, I really enjoyed it for light entertainment. I was actually surprised at the bad reviews and then I finished the whole season and unfortunately I could completely understand the poor ratings.
The comedic parts are actually funny and I think they should have stuck to that genre because the dramatic parts aren't done well at all. They are badly acted with misplaced hyperbolic scenes and outlandish storylines. The haphazard script unravels halfway through season one and continues to decline, a lot of the things the female characters say and do don't make sense and come across as stereotypical of what a man thinks a woman would do in that situation, but is actually very unrealistic. The characters lack depth and proper development, most of the things they do stop making sense. The character Andy and all of her storylines should have been left out- This would have drastically increased the quality of the show. As beautiful as she is, her nonsensical telenovela style acting and confused storylines are unnecessary, cringeworthy and painful to watch unfold. This show is an example of why no man should be an island, perhaps if TP had someone else writing and others producing, just another set of eyes ... sometimes we need to be checked and also, doing it all spreads anyone thinly.
As I said it starts off well, but declines into WTF am I watching real quick. I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to run it in the background or for very light entertainment and that's only because of the earlier eps which had a nice Girls Trip vibe. All in all the show is ok, I see why people feel it's bad though. If you want a good show with a similar premise about female friendships/career/relationships, etc... I'd recommend Run the World or Harlem.

TP continues to half-ass his way through poorly written, directed and produced shows, and expects us to love his shows just because he's black and they're about black people. But he constantly insults our intelligence with his output. He owns a large studio, yet his sets seem extremely low budgets, his apartments, offices etc seem almost like stage play sets. Dialogue, plots and continuity are poorly executed. Imagine that the police comes to arrest a guy in a hospital saying it's for murder and the supposed victim is alive in the very same hospital!
The continuity is very sketchy... it seems like a single day stretches over several episodes and then it's hard to tell how much time has elapsed over a couple seasons.
The most annoying character is Karen's assistant Pam, with her sashaying, ridiculous expressions, hand waving and sing song voice she comes across as a cheap caricature of what a hood black woman is supposed to be.
Why is Andi a top lawyer constantly acting like an airhead from a telenovela? Why are all the girls constantly sabotaging their relationships then blaming it on the guys.
Why is a part black guy playing the role of a white country hick? Why are the girls able to just rush off their jobs for non emergencies so often? Why is no one ever seen watching TV but just sitting on the sofa doing nothing? Why are people constantly popping up at homes and workplaces at all hours like stalkers? Why is Aaron hitting on Karen just after his wife's death and before she's even buried? Why does the airport always look like it only ever has the same one plane and couple passengers? And what's with the weird hairstyles??? Why are people who work in a bank and law firm dressed so inappropriately for the job?
TP needs to relinquish some writing and directing to more talented persons or step up his game. And get rid of the always smug look on his face.

I was really looking forward to a show with real life girl issues. I am so disappointed! It's way too much violence in this show. We don't need a show with so much violence. Why the heck are people committing suicide, getting shot, getting stabbed and fighting so much? Enough already! Can these women just deal with day to day relationships and career issues? This is so bad! I can't believe I watched an entire season of this crap! Why do we need FBI here and fed charges for Gary? Just stop! Go back and watch Living Single, Girlfriends, Being Mary Jane....watch anything to get inspiration from. This here ain't it!
The Leslie and Jasmine characters are just so over the top. Like Jasmine, let go and let God. And are you making Leslie bad or good. She's doing way too much!
Highly disappointed!!!
