It's a 12 episode series with a lot to work with, but it utilizes none of it... This anime could easily be a 50+ episode anime, but takes extreme shortcuts with fight scenes that could be so much better. It has so much potential and ruins it by speeding up the process of the whole story while still leaving some suspense at the end of episodes. It could be amazing, but they made it decent and way too short for what they were working with.

I just got down watching the 8th episode it was a complete let down the fights weren't good the mc is always acting like a baby instead on actually doing something even tho hes apparently the most powerful person in the world he's weak at least make him go berserk on a whole army and at this point just make a harem anime.

I just finished watching the fourth episode and man, this series is depressing. There is no passion in anything that has happened so far. Its lazy, commercial even. The animation is cheap. It reminds me of those first Pokemon episodes in the 90s where there is no detail to anything, all the characters are generic and the director decides to freeze shots as much as possible because it saves money.

I watched all of it, it's boring as crap. It feels a bit forced, like when you have to do a project that isn't in any way inspiring to do. The animation is as trash as dialogues. Incredibly simplistic and also some of the details in the series are skipped, like the progress in the first episodes or even major fight scenes when it doesn't show how they fight, yet they are all tired.

All of this looks like they just want to do a visual novel kind of game, where all you get is the dialogue and a bit of gifs, lmao. Uber generic story and very uninteresting characters, after like 3 episodes there isn't any character development. I have no idea why they didn't put all the $ into a movie like animation which is around 1 or 1:30hr long, instead push 12 episodes of boredom that even the dub voice actors don't believe in xD. Very unauthentic and isn't even finished with this (first) season. Better go watch Hataage! I watched that anime before this one and that one will blow you away.

Loved the action, it was actually hard to tell who would win in many battles. Cool plot line, awesome monsters, well-developed characters, great animations. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews-it's an awesome anime and my fiancé and I watched it together and really enjoyed it. Also, there is no sex and no male nudity and very few inappropriate scenes and most of that is characters talking about other characters. Hope they make a second season!

The first dubbed episode just dropped and from the beginning I'm not expecting much at all. The characters are generic and point out the most obvious things, at times it feels the script is ripped straight from a manga. The most noticeable flaws are that the animation has dull color and the voice actors sound like they are reading from a script without passion. In summery the series is a dull isekai and fails in comparison to most others.

A "newer" entry to the Isekai field, "Cheat Mage" lacks anything to distinguish it it beyond an intro from "Myth & Roid".

The characters are flat, dialog is terrible (even the Sub's), the "story" is unoriginal, combat is uninspired, the evil "mastermind" is anything but and tropes are shoehorned in everywhere.

Even the anime's name is a bad choice when referring to protagonist, there is no "cheating" or clever use of his powers.

I'd suggest rewatching one of the "greats" over slogging through all 12 episodes.

Pro's:

• Average score.

Con's:

• Inconstant animation.
• Cheesy dialog.
• Lackluster story.
• No drama / struggle.
• Boring.

This is one on the worst isekai out there.

Two high school students get transported to a new world, with overpowered abilities. There is no drama, because they can overcome anything, with literally only a few weeks of training.

They battle bad guys, who are defeated, and most of the bad guys suffer no consequences to their actions.

It has below average animation, below average script, laughable dialogue, no plot, and, as mentioned, with almost no consequences to being one of the bad guys.

It uses all the cliches, and does it badly. Names get repeated just in case you forget them. There is an embarrassing love subplot that goes nowhere.

Is it worth watching? No.

I read all bad reviews but honestly the show is good. Good character build and remember they don't know what is going on. They come into it not knowing they are powerful. So stop bashing it for slow start. It gives a great progression and story that tells the story it tells. So my judgment is yall to judgemental

As regular high school students Taichi and Rin disappeared in a beam of light. When they came to, the two of them were already in a world of swords and magic. Finally getting away after experiencing an attack by monsters, following the suggestion of adventurers they headed on the path towards the guild. In the guild, the two of them found out that they possessed unbelievably powerful magic. Thus the regular high school students transformed into the strongest cheats.

I admit toward the beginning of I was actually really enjoying this series i actually thought there was going to be an interesting series. With two students going to another world but it just felt generic at the end.

My overall opinion meh. Want something better go watch The rising of the shield hero, Sword Art Online, Accel Worlds or Konosuba then this boring anime.

But hey at least the dub was decent.
