Let's just get this out there early, it looks rushed and at times terrible. The animation isn't great, especially during fight scenes. Having said that, if you stick with it, the story and characters are really good, there's some genuinely funny moments and it left me wanting to watch more. I for one hope there's a second series.

What in the world were they thinking??? Season 1 visuals were so much better. Season 2 looks so childish. Zero with the big bushy eyebrows, Elder Holy Maiden and Killer Queen are unrecognizable and look worse visually and don't match the characters they portrayed in Season 1. Not mention their voices. I was expecting a much better animation not worse. What a disappointment!!! What is the deal with the Demon Lord? He looks older and uglier. He doesn't look ripped as he did in Season 1 that got the Elder Holy Maiden's eyes on him. Zero is also a joke. Looks like a really cartoonish character and not even close to what he was in Season 1. The new voice actors for zero and the maidens sound worse. I really hope they redo this. Did they run out of money??? Season 1 was 10/10 stars. Because of this season 2, I dropped it to a 6.

I mean there really isn't anything bad i could say the show it pretty amazing the character development is amazing and the character are well made but there's one thing I disliked was the fact that him aka the demon lord has another person that he could change into there's nothing wrong with this but no one knows it's really him so what's the point at least let him switch during battle so his group knows its him.

An isekai anime I finished within a day. It is an average series, nothing great, yet with a few funny moments.

Not much goes on about deep storyline or unique plot points; it follows the usual isekai formula and does not do anything novel to the genre, yet it is still a decent watch for some mindless time-wasting.

There are two seasons out now, but I have only watched the first one yet. For me, it was just okay; I neither loved it nor hated it.

A rating of 6/10 would be what I can give it.

Ye ek isekai anime hai 17 may 2025 ko ek hi din me khatam kardiya tha. Ye ek isekai anime hai. Anime average hai. Kuch funny moment hai. Zayada kuch nahi kahunga iska 2 season hai halaki maine bas 1 hi dekha hai. Or ye anime mujhe thik thak laga. Main ise 6 out of 10 dunga.

Season one I love it I personally would give it a 8/10maybe9/10 how ever remaking it into trash and calling it's a sequel is false advertising and plagiarism of the original work I give season 2 a -10/10. I was so disappointed it almost makes me not even want to watch season 1 again but that said I hope the original group of developers of season one know they did an amazing job and are not at fault for this lame excuse for attempting to make anything that resembles their work. I would have preferred that they would have changed the name too and stayed separate from the original not to tarnish its reputation I'm saddened by this what a DISASTER!!!!! :(

First all i wanna say, WE NEED SEASON 2😭

Idk why it's rated 6, but tbh this anime is so good.

The MC got transported into another world, he's a demon lord and ofc overpowered, and his character is funny and anti naive which is what I love in MC character.

The graphics is really good, although there isn't much action and drama, but it's fun to watch. Like any other MC in fantasy world, the MC have few females that like him and interested with him.

On the first half of the season, there's more action than the rest, i think it's because on the first half the MC just arrived in another world and people try to kill him cause they see him as a demon lord. But the rest of the season, there isn't much action cause his building a village with his underling and powerful people haven't show up and some of them already got beaten up by him.

Season 1 made me really want a season 2 to come out but sheeesshh, with switching voice actors, animation and production studios, it absolutely ruined the show. Season 1 is above an 8/10 but season 2 is below a 2/10.

Season 1 had great character development, great animation style. And overall story. Season 2s first couple episodes is merely a recap with awful comedy timing, characters, animation, etc.

I truly wished season 2 picked up where season 1 ended, but it's an entirely different show. Third rate garbage if you ask me. Luckily Re:zero season 3 is on its way with a decent selection of fall anime shows. Keep your heads up folks, there are other gems out there.

The fights are a bit underwhelming but the AMAZING music really makes up for it. gives me chills.

The first season isn't anything special. It is a pretty dull male power fantasy, and it's pretty sexist. I still enjoyed it better than Overlord, which was unwatchable, but only because the characters were a bit less obnoxious and sycophantic. However, season 2 (R) is utterly pointless. Why on earth did they decide to remake the same series only 2 years later? Moreover, everything from the animation to the humor is worse in season R. I think if they wanted to "retry" making the anime, they should have at least tried to improve on the first season, but the second attempt is worse in every conceivable way, utter trash that would not be worth watching even if it wasn't just the same story again. 5/10 for season 1 but 1/10 for season R.

Demon Lord, Retry! Is pretty decent in my opinion, though it's not a top tier anime if I were to say. It's not amazing but not horrible either. But i personally find it enjoyable and liked it a lot. Some people may hate it and others may like it. So it's really up to you and your personal tastes. Some might not like the animation style either.

Maybe to many people, it's not a very good anime, but for me......it is the one that I was looking for. Starting part of the anime is like kind of "overlord". So you may think its just a copy...but after the start they are different from each other. Overlord gives that "powerful-MC" vibe but lacks SATISFACTION, while "demon lord retry" gives both , which is too awesome (for me).

Just give it a try.

As someone who genuinely enjoyed the first season, I had high expectations for the second season, hoping it would build upon the solid foundation laid by its predecessor. Unfortunately, the second season turned out to be a major disappointment. It felt like a generic isekai anime, lacking originality and depth, and worse, it came across as an uninspired Overlord ripoff. The storytelling felt lazy, with predictable tropes and uninspired world-building. I was eagerly anticipating a fresh and engaging continuation, but what I got instead was a soulless imitation that failed to capture the magic of the first season.

Where the heck is another season? Give the fans what they want!

Seems to sample from a number of popular isekai's, which I found a turn off, and starts very slowly, however much like mold, It might grow on you, regardless if you want it too or not.

Pro's: -There is an English Dub. -Hits almost every trope, if that's your thing. -Like mold....

Con's: -Stilted Dialog at times (English Dub). -Odd protagonist outfit choice, even for his previous "game". -Distracting "Administrator" interaction. -Inconsistent animation at times. Faces warp, some sizing issues, etc. -Lack luster music. -Environment is an odd mashup, supposed to be a Medieval but the buildings and background often have modern touches which make no sense. -"Bad guys" are criminally stupid and nonsensical, and the "good guys" are just as bad.

It does have a second season coming, and although there are many other Anime's with more promise waiting on a second season.. wait where was I going with this?

Trying to find the cast I looked here only to see a 10/10 review this isn' t 10 worthy (virtually to an objective level) the animation is slightly better than still photos the fights are boring cliches are immense a real drag even watching one episode a week it was passable for the first two episodes nothing more

So I was looking for how not to summon a demon lord and saw this on hulu. Figuring they remade the series, i gave it a shot. Now the show I was looking for is pervy, disgusting, and freaking hilarious. This.....Tamer? Version or whatever it is. Just gives me the creeps.

YOu have this 40 year old looking guy trying to woo a child? A child that they nearly show in the nude as often as they can and shes what..7, 8?

What the hell is going on. And why does she only have 1 eye. And why do they keep showing her. At least in the funny version you can pretend they are teenagers..but not here.ddddddddd.

Maou-sama, Retry! R - From Okay to Oh No...

Review: So the first season of Maou-sama, Retry! Was okay-not Mid, but it had some charm, interesting ideas, and a protagonist that carried the show. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was fun enough to keep watching. Sadly, Maou-sama, Retry! R feels like a massive downgrade. The story is a mess with no clear direction, the characters are flat and forgettable some are so annoying, and the fight scenes? Lame. It looks and feels like a rushed project with zero heart. This "sequel" doesn't even feel much connected to the original. Just bad all around. Major letdown.
