Nancy Drew

I love how people rate things a month in and call that it. So, we saw this wasn't like the books. Neither was the new Sabrina and Riverdale. I've noticed that CW aims for a different kind of crowd. They aim for the young adult generation and keep up with the times. Equality is something that tends to a touchy subject, but not showing it is what made the governing generation we have today. Do we want to stay blissful and ignorant like those in the 50s or do we want a world where we don't shoot based on race or judge based on what we do behind closed doors.

What I love about this Nancy Drew (and CW) is the progressive attitude of the younger generation. If you want to stay in the stone age, don't watch their stuff.

The new creep factor was a major bonus. Sure, the relationships area bit soap-opera, but my favorite thing about Nancy Drew (old & new) was the mystery. Nothing is ever as it seems.

My only issue is how season 4 states it takes place one year after her mom's death when the mom has been dead since before the show started. That makes for a very busy year... in relationships and ghosts...

I wrote a 1 star review after the first episode and I was fuming. I hated it all because this wasn't Nancy Drew. Why can't someone just make an authentic Nancy Drew movie or show? It's not hard!!

BUT despite it NOT being OUR Nancy Drew, by itself the show is pretty interesting and enjoyable. I really look forward to it now. Still bitter about it not being Nancy, but I want to see how this show plays out. I want to see how the mystery ends. I don't mind the twists on characters. But someone PLEASE make a real Nancy Drew that we grew up with, in her time period and all.

It seems like a requirement that all teen shows have a sex scene within the first ten minutes. I guess that is to lure in teen viewers and seem cool. This isn't the Nancy Drew from the books. I was hoping for a paranormal drama with a strong and smart female lead.

I have been looking forward to this ever since the adds started on tv and I was not disappointed!

I am not sure why it has so many bad reviews, I think the characters were likeable, the story was good & the atmosphere was a bit creepy! (I am not really a horror fan so this was good for me! Haha)

I have not seen any other Nancy Drew movies or read the books, maybe that is why people are not liking it, as they are comparing it to them? But I really liked ep 1 and can't wait for the next one! :)

Wow this series impressed me this is coming from a person who read all the Nancy drew books. Nothing like the books but just took the characters names
