I was simply channel surfing the other evening and came across this documentary, having missed only the first five minutes or so. As the daughter of a FANTASTIC European dressmaker and more or less designer, and having grown up with many custom-made dresses and suits, as well as a lifelong lover of film, I found this documentary to be a true treat. It's wonderful to see someone so completely in love with his work, and benefiting from fulfilling his passion by being vibrant at a ripe "young" age of 90. His detailed measurements of the stars and their irregularities ("right arm, 18 inches; left arm, 17.5 inches")brings back so many beautiful memories of my mother fitting me and a slew of her many loyal customers for decades, with our big, beautiful kitty Dexter (named after Cary Grant's "C.K. Dexter Haven", of The Philadelphia Story) taking comfort faithfully alongside in a big trunk of many colored and textured fabrics. This film offered a very interesting, intimate look into a charmed life, indeed.

Jack Taylor might be in his nineties but he was part of the old Hollywood history where movie stars were gods. He dressed them in fine suits customized to the nines for his subjects. If I was a man, I would love to have a Jack Taylor designed suit. This ninety minute documentary plus included footage from the Mike Douglas Show and Let's Make a Deal. Jack Taylor was friends with legendary Jack Lemmon among others like Red Buttons. Jack and his wife, Bonnie, have been married for over 60 years which is rare in Hollywood. Jack and Bonnie Taylor are part of the old Hollywood establishment where you dressed up to go out. Deleted scenes included Wolfgang Puck and more. It's a rare treat to see the legendary and old Hollywood were movie stars were movie stars. IF you like old Hollywood, you will like learning about Jack Taylor.

Just caught this documentary on the Sundance channel. Jack Taylor is 92 years old (b. 1916), has been married to his wife for over 65 years and has dressed every leading Hollywood man and major male celebrity since the 40's, including Cary Grant, Jack Lemmon, Monty Hall, Joe Lewis, Ali, Elvis and hosts of others-you name it, he made custom clothes for them. Jack, along with his head tailor Sam, has custom made their suits, slacks, shirts-everything. Even at 90+ Jack goes to work everyday, and he does indeed work, and has impeccable taste in clothes. We are treated to his suppliers from Europe and given an insight into Jack's relationship with them just like with his high-end clients.

I really enjoyed watching this film because it gave you an honest insight into a person who supported the stars and developed sincere friendships that lasted a lifetime.
