By far the worst film I have every suffered through. This fails on every level: the script, the photography, the acting the directing are all bottom of the barrel. The story involves a mobster being shot and a police detective, who wears a white Panama hat, interrogates those who knew him. As they tell their story they describe the events of the the day which always includes a lame sex scene which has nothing to do with the story! The so called director should take a class in screen writing since the story lacks any character development nor plot points. Obviously this abortion of a film is the result of a rich kid who gets money from Daddy because they think that being a film maker would be a cool way of making a living. Don't give up you day job.

Don't waste your time watching this abomination.

When most people think of a movie that's centered around a central theme of sex, you'd expect pornography, right? Society still has a view of sex as something dirty, taboo, something perverts watch, when it comes to cinema. Is that a right conclusion, not any more! Julie Rubio, a very talented writer and director out of the San Francisco Bay area is shedding a new light on sex in movies. Her view is taking sex out of the caveman style porn theater type setting, and making it an art form that even the most scrutinizing critic would have to give her a round of applause for. In her recent movie, "Six Sex Scenes and a Murder" she brings a new light to sex in movies. They are genuine, which will trample your typical R rated movie sex scene into the dirt. She's putting away the age old portrayal of it all and bringing new depth into cinema.

Julie is a true pioneer as a female writer/director/producer. Her films and upcoming projects show that it is time for movies to step out of the dark ages and into a new light where sex is no longer just an act, but it is truly ART! As a former habitué of the San Francisco club scene, I've known a few strippers, bouncers and club owners over the years. I can attest that director Julie Rubio succeeds in capturing both the flamboyant excess and the shallowness.

Look elsewhere for the grit of "Mean Streets." This is an Underworld after a Guiliani-style clean-up. The sharp suits and slinky skirts of the noir era merge with cell phones and shiny, new cars.

The actresses, varying degrees of hot, are convincing as burlesque dancers. Richard Anthony Crenna as Nick, the conflicted hood at the center of the film, could be an inheritor of the type of role that Keith Carradine excelled at with writer/director Alan Rudolph, the decent guy battling serpentine urges.

Viewers who enjoy Abel Ferrara's "Go Go Tales," set in a New York City strip club, should investigate "Six Sex Scenes and a Murder" to see what the West Coast has to offer.
