Jettison Your Loved Ones

The publicity to this short states " A man serially obsessed with faking his own death sires a son who destroys most of the world , but this son , along with his wife ( The greatest swordsperson in the world ) rise up against the totalitarian regime that emerges from the wreckage . It sounds like a mess but it's good " . Allow me to state that it is not good and it is a mess

In some ways it reminded me of the start of THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS with its lets tell the story via voice over and in some other ways it reminded me of a promo to some avant garde music film from the late 1960s such as Pink Floyd's Arnold Layne . I could be charitable and say perhaps this is deliberate on the part of director Ray Tintori but I honestly don't think it is . The whole feel of it might trying to be surreal but comes over as being entirely silly and the above synopsis effectively gives away the entire story . I watched it once then I watched it again seeing if perhaps I could get it so to speak but my repeat viewing didn't improve the short and I disliked it both times . Sorry Ray
