The first, and only appearance of the girls' cat Fluffy. The cat would never be seen, nor mentioned, again following this episode.
This is the only episode where the children refer to their non-biological parents by their first name. With the exception of the season 2 episode Our Son the Man when Gregg refers to his parents as Mike and Carol and is quickly rebuffed
This is the only time in the entire series that one of the former spouses of the Bradys is seen, specifically Mike Brady's first wife. She is shown in a photograph that Bobby has hidden in (and later retrieves from) a dresser drawer. Bobby hides the picture because he is worried his soon-to-be stepmother would be angry if she saw it.
When Sherwood Schwartz pitched this as a pilot episode to NBC, they thought the story of the parents returning to get their blended family and take them along on the honeymoon was an unbelievable story line. They offered to do the pilot if he changed the ending. ABC liked it so much they wanted to stretch the story to be a TV movie, 90 minutes long. Sherwood balked at that also, certain that such a pilot would be so dull the series would not get picked up.
When everybody is marching up the stairs, in the lobby of the lodge, the two large framed prints hanging on the walls, will be the same prints hanging in the family room of the Brady house.
