This is one of the funniest, cleverest and well made Greek shows ever. The cast is stupendous and the writing very crisp. Sometimes you need to watch an episode a few times to get all the jokes. The other impressive thing about the show is that compared to other Greek Comedies, the humor is not obvious and the direction is similar to what you get with well made BBC or US comedies. I started watching the show while in Greece in the summer of 2006 and I was hooked by the time I left. Fortunately, I have Satellite Greek TV so I will be able to follow the 5 "angels of Charley" in the new season that is supposed to start in Mykonos.
"Sto para pente" is probably the best TV series ever. i simply can't believe the infinite imagination of George Kapou. In my opinion Kapoutzidis is a God. the plot is great and his jokes make me laugh for hours. it's all i discuss with my friends. Don't u just love him! =)"Sto para pente" helps me exit the reality, forget the problems of daily life and become more optimistic. i admire Dalia and 8eopula and i believe that we should all try to be more like them 'n' enjoy life. i also like Kapou's previous series "savvatogennimenes". his role was excellent - a guy from Paraguay or Uruguay that constantly got on Soulla's nerves. He was simply adorable!! i honestly can't wait for his next work!
I don't really have a whole lot more to add to the comments made by the first few people to give their opinion on this show which was indeed a breath of fresh air on Greek TV--heck, it was the first time I truly followed a Greek TV series in my life, and I was 22 when it started and have lived in Greece for nearly fifteen years! I've even found myself wishing they'd release it on DVD so I can keep it (a first for me!)--if possible, with subtitling options, so I could share it with friends of mine who don't speak Greek! It really is very good.
However I would just like to point out to people who might be reading these comments to determine whether it's worth watching that it's not worth listening to people like fgeorgiou or sotiris makris--both anecdotal evidence and more official audience figures suggest they're very much in the minority; besides, of those 2 guys, the first is obviously just trying to be contrary, and trying to elevate themselves apart from what they seem to view rather sniffily as 'The Masses' (capitals intended) and the second can't even be bothered to write his rather ungenerous criticism in plain English--he keeps mixing in Greek in key bits of text. Sotiris honey, this is a site in *English*-- if you can't be bothered to write your nasty comments in that language, stay clear cos you're just annoying people.
Right, I daresay I've fed the trolls (*gaaaahhh!*) but I don't want people to miss out on this just because some people are being killjoys (tonite was the closing episode, let's hear it for the DVD--meanwhile youtube has lots of snippets:-)--if there had been more comments I daresay all that BS would have been rather more lost.
Enjoy, folks! I know I have :-)

Yorgos Kapoutzidis and Antonis Aggelopoulos made one of the most successful, adventure, comedy tv show in greek history !
There are only a handful of Greek series that provide genuine laughs and afford viewers a witty and well-written storyline. Sto Para Pente is the only series I know of as of late that does not center on love affairs and which character is cheating on the other and so on and so forth. It is a truly entertaining show and from the moment I caught one of the first episodes on a trip to Greece in 2005, I was hooked.
Aside from all the humor, the episodes offer a hint of suspense and some drama. Characters are well developed and the direction really sets this show apart from other Greek television series.
Bottom line: it's funny in all the right ways.
