German silent action movie.

Enjoyable enough German action adventure of the day.

Athlete star Albertini specialised in such films. He was part of the Luis Trenker tradition.

In this one he is is a reclusive inventor battling crooks in the Alps.

Lots of stunt action.

His invention is supposed to stop trains from smashing into each other, so he plans a demonstration but the rail companies demand a deposit on their locomotives and it's up the the heroine to get together the finance.

Not polished but the production values are adequate.

Curiosidades
The only surviving distribution print has been kept since 1983 at the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna. It is in good overall condition but nevertheless is missing six intertitles and the main title and is 1699m long compared to the 1902m length the film premiered with in 1924. This copy served as the basis for 4K digital restoration of the film by the German Film Institute in 2020 and 2021 with the missing intertitles recreated. The restoration has a 1715m length, or 90401 images, with a runtime of 76 minutes at 20fps, compared to the original 83 minute runtime.
