Funny As Heck, Who Made The Potatoe Salad
I know this movie had a billion stereotypes in it, but I'm sorry, I laughed through the entire thing. I had never heard of this movie but a family member had it on tape, so I watched it expecting it to be wack. Jaleel White as a cop did not strike me as interesting, but as soon as this dude proposed to his girlfriend and went home with her to meet the family, the nonsense began. This was some of the dumbest entertainment ever from butts sticking to plastic couches being pressured into eating pork the prisoner boyfriend's talk about Tiger style, the grandparents etc. It was some of the most stupid funny ever, but I enjoyed every minute of it. My hand didn't leave my forehead and the grin never left because this movie was such a waste of time but in a good way. I wouldn't suggest buying it, but I would suggest renting it on a day when you're off work, bored, and need something to tickle your funnybone.
The movie was hilarious! I was dying laughing pretty much the whole movie. My Girlfriend and I were watching the movie and we were cracking up!! The cast is great. This movie is a definite must-see.

I really enjoyed this movie! I think its low budgetness took away from actual higher ratings because this is funnier than a lot of big budget box office movies, it was just kinda hood made lol. Still funny and jokes apply today. It had stereotypical characters but most movies do. It was silly and I laughed. I enjoy black movies and comedies though, as well as indy and new stories, so it was right up my alley.
This is a movie that was great but didnt get the attention it deserved. Another under rated Gem. Good to see Jaleel white in another role other than urkel. Id love to see more of him. Overall a really funny movie. Ella joyce, clifton powell awesome talents...
This movie was painful to watch. The comedic scenes were at times awkward and never, not even one time, funny. All this movie has time was perpetuate stereotypes, and waste 90 minutes of my life. Steer clear of this at all costs. I wasn't expecting fine cinema, or Oscar worthy performances. I was expecting a bad b movie. Those types of movies are funny to me at times but this wasn't even that. It wasn't cheesy it was just offensive, horrible, badly written, and just flat out worthless. If you paid me, I would never watch this again. Please please burn this movie, and I hope to never see a copy of it again. My goodness.
This is definitely one of the worst movies I have ever seen. OK They spell potato with an 'e' and that bugged me from the off, but even ignoring that, the performances, script and direction are so below par, I would not have been surprised if this had been a drama school production. However, if the actors and director were to submit this, they would fail and have to resit the examination. It is to be hoped they don't try again.
Not even funny when it's not supposed to be, just absolutely woeful. A romcom devoid of romance, absent of any comedy.
Why is this not in the bottom 100 films?
