Lynch

Robert Conway wrote a gem of a short film. Lynch is a classic movie western story that is sure to appeal to a broad audience. His directorial choices draw the audience in from the opening scene, played out entirely in black. The first visual image is shocking and one of the most realistic hangings I have seen on film. Tain Barzso's cinematography is vivid and effective in making the story worthy of a big screen. The cast are figures that look as if they time-traveled from the 1880's, hard, rugged, dusty men fit for life, or death, in the Wild West. Lynch is Colorful, compelling, and entertaining: a fine, albeit short, example of classic movie making.

I first saw this film online and I was blown away by the quality of the film. A killer script compiled with great acting by Tom Noga and Anthony Casanova. And the photography is mind blowing. Every frame looks like a still photograph. The sets and desert scenery are also very impressive. Lynch is a very cool little film with the feeling of an old "Spaghetti" Western and a twist that is reminiscent of a great Twilight Zone episode! The mood of the film is established from the very first frame, by the use of vintage western dialogue, ghostly cinematography and a bone chilling music score. The simplicity of the film is what makes it work. This is a clear-cut case of less is more! The action and pyrotechnics are Holly Wood quality as is the wardrobe, editing and performances. My only beef with the film is that I wish it were longer. This is one of those rare short films that could easily be transferred to feature length.
