Lip gloss is so last century.
They couldn't get Alicia Silverstone. Brooke channeled as well as she could but her performance never came alive.
Of course the trite premise and silly script didn't give her anything to work with.
And George Harrison as Santa? Puh-leeze.
Purely predictable seasonal tripe here, although the increasingly insane mall security guard had a couple of entertaining rants.
Still, if it's this movie or a zillionth rerun of 'It's a Wonderful Life', give yourself a change of pace. Just prepare your eyeballs for a pastel overload.

Just enough cheese from George Hamilton to make it watchable. Becomes cringy pretty quick though and by the end it is a hard aul slog.
Cheese: George Hamilton excretes the cheese.

I was actually surprised when I watched this as I had put it off for several weeks. It is definitely one of my top Christmas movies of all time and is definitely worth a buy. At the very least, its worth a watch.
The whole thing has been done before both in movies, TV shows and various other outlets for entertainment but there are quite a few things that make this a unique, "the real meaning of Christmas" movie. I absolutely loved the characters; from the stereotypical first-born blonde upper class teenager to the aged Santa (George is definitely on my Christmas List of Best Santas, both in and out of "the Beard") to the her parents. I spent most of my time grinning while watching this movie and would readily watch it again and again.
If you're looking for a movie to make you grin, while it may not be hilarious, it is definitely humorous. Oh, and don't forget the security guard! Probably the strangest character I've yet to watch. And I tend to pick weird movies.
I'll say it again, definitely worth a watch!

They made two different versions of this movie. I don't know why, but they did. It's the same story but the only difference (that I could tell) was that in one version she had a mother/father and the other version she had two dads. I caught them both on television in separate years. I preferred the version with two dads. I don't know why, maybe because I saw it first. But either way, I actually enjoyed watching this film. It's not Oscar worthy, but It's an easy watch around the holidays.
I was expecting it to be bad but its not great but I will watch around the season again.

- CuriosidadesThere are two versions of the film, the one that features a homosexual character and the one that doesn't. In the one called Too Cool For Christmas, Lindsay's parents are actually a gay couple. In the version called A Very Cool Christmas, Lindsay's parents are a heterosexual couple. Barclay Hope plays her dad in both versions, while Adam Harrington plays her other dad and Hope's husband in the first version and Ingrid Torrance plays her mom and Hope's wife in the second version. Other than the gender of the actor that plays the other parent, the two versions of the film are virtually identical with identical lines being delivered by both the actor and the actress and the exact same camera shots being used for their scenes in both versions as if the two versions of the film were shot at the same time, one for the more tolerant Canadian audience and the other one for the presumably more conservative US audience at the time.
- Erros de gravaçãoWhen the hairstylist says he'll have to cut Santa's beard off, the net of the facial wig is visible in the close-up shot of Santa yelling, "No!"

According to the director, Sam Irvin, the movie was produced to be shown at Here TV, a LGBTQ+ channel. Since Here TV didn't have the budget to produce this movie, it has been decided to also make a heterosexual version to sell it to other channel networks like Lifetime and show the original version with the homosexual couple on Here TV.
