I find that I have little patience for most teen programming. The writing and performances on Disney Channel 'sit-coms' are so excruciating that without the laugh track one might forget that they are supposed to be funny. Yet, 6teen is consistently funny without resorting to cheap sight gags and pratfalls all of the time by being cleverly observant of teen life with its insecurities and hangups. The characters are well individualized, if oddly mismatched, and the dynamic between each of them is explored and evolves as the show goes on and the characters pass through the usual teen rites of passage, such as dating and breaking up, getting a job and getting fired etc... Shallow, fashion-obsessed Caitlin wants to fit in, and clicks quickly with athletic and driven Jen, but dark non-conformist Nikki isn't looking for an 'insta-friend'. And sensitive Wyatt finds himself an odd man out among chauvinistic Jonesy and slacker Jude. Yet, the six teens are closer to one another than to anybody else in their lives and they wind up supporting and lending strength to each other as they dust themselves off after every new misadventure.
The character animation and action direction are very simplistic. Heads rarely move in a shot, just mouths, and if one figure is moving the rest are static. Fortunately the show is driven primarily by its character interactions anyway and it thrives on its writing rather than action.

I love this show! I didn't start watching it until last year (2006), but my kids and I love to catch it when it's on. It isn't meant for young audiences, that's true, hence the title '6TEEN'. One of the fun elements of the show is that it's Canadian, which is a nice change, and the different personalities of the characters is a good mix. The teens in this show are pretty close friends, guys and girls, which didn't happen when I was in high school. The dating thing always got in the way. I think the way some of the teen girls talk they've hit right on the money, though. I've stood behind girls like that in the mall and it sounds exact. Overall, this show is a good, fun way to spend a half hour of your day.

This was one of those shows that I was less enthusiastic about watching. I have two little siblings and they both convinced me to watch it and I was like "What the heck, it can't kill me, right?" Well, it definitely exceeded my expectations. It's witty, smart, and definitely something new. One of the best shows on Canadian television since the awesomely awesome Degrassi. I watch it everyday at 7 P.M and I'll never get bored. These teens are people that most 16 year olds could certainly relate to, they have good lessons, with a funny twist. Jude by far is my favourite character, he's laid back and just doesn't care what the the world thinks.
Two thumbs WAAAAAAAAAAY up for a pleasant surprise.

I like the fact that this cartoon goes places other cartoons usually don't. Multiple story lines, a little "mature" humor. It's a refreshing break from the rather dull cartoons you'll see on American television. Also, the appealing character designs and personalities make me actually "care" about what happens to the characters. I don't really care what happens to somebody like "Johnny Test" for example. Another thing I like is that this show pushes the limits. Too many cartoons these days are afraid to show anything remotely offensive, but 6teen has implied cursing, pixelated nudity, and, well--you just have to watch. I've noticed Canadian television programs always seem to go farther than their American counterparts in that sense. You can also notice a slight Canadian accent in the characters when they pronounce words like "out".

My kids started watching this show a year ago and they really liked it. I happened to be nearby one day and started watching it with them. It is a really great show for kids. It is funny and entertaining but it also has a lot of life lessons in it. How to treat your friends, how to stand up for your friends and how to stand up against them if you think they need it. How to decide what you should do in future situations (my kids are younger than the kids on the show). I think it is terrific and am glad it is a Canadian show. We need more shows for kids that aren't all noise and screaming and flash. I would recommend this show to just about anyone. My friends have kids that watch this show as well and they all really like it including the mothers.

I don't have much to say here other than it was fine for what it is. It wasn't really memorable but it was good enough to quiet down your kids. It's ok. It's made by the same people behind Total Drama Island. Go ahead and check it out.

the execution the rawness the relatibility...it might be the best depiction of teenage mindset...although I'll repeat i AM relying on memory for all these sentiments...

If I could give it a zero you bet I would! When my little brother puts this show on I can literally feel my brain shutting down. It's that bad! I hate the animation, and the characters are extremely obnoxious. They show these awful shows (total drama action, 6teen, and stoked) all the time, and yet they barely show CN's only good shows (flapjack, and chowder). Come on CN, if you want something that adults can enjoy watching with their children, then you'd better get some better shows.
Not too mention... the story lines are boring (this is coming from a writer). Why are these shows on like ten times a day?? It's like they took everything I hated in a cartoon and this is what they got.

I found this show purely by accident and I have to say I enjoyed every second of it. As a teen it really captures what this stage of like is like and what it's all about. It's kinda out dated exaggerated but it adds to the charm. It really shows how at this point in your life you have so much responsibility but at the same time no responsibilities at all and how you can spend such awesome times hanging with friends and doing stupid stuff with college just on the horizon but at the same time some of us are stressing about what we're going to do with our life and if high school will affect our futures. I also love how the mall is like this community and even the external characters are given attention and we actually get to know them and grow to love them as much as the main ones. It was way better than I expected honestly.

I dunno why dis show was ever put on Nick. It is like one of the worst shows ever. It was bad enough when they decided to add CatDog to Nicktoons, but it's worse because they still have this show. It seems unoriginal about the characters because I have seen some other shows like it. The animation was not cool, but I saw one show and I was like no way. I thought Oh, lord, this show is a lot dumber than I thougth it would have been. I remember when Nick was fun, they would have Peslwick, Mr. Bean: The Animated Series and a lot of other funny shows like Catscrtach, but then they got rid of them. I remember on week night Nights they had a show called Charlie Brown. I remember Tiny Toon Adventures and the times where All That was cool. But now, it's just going downhill for Nick.

This show kinda reminds me of Corn & Peg, because it has beautiful animation, voice actors (Stacey Depass as Nikki), great plots, and uses the same software Toon Boom Harmony. half of the animators and crewwho worked on this show also worked on Corn & Peg, like Kerry Sargent, Dinah Wilson, Mike Csunyoscka, Jamie Galloro, the late Mike Northcott and many more. it also reminded me as a teenager growing up. one of my favorite characters is Jonesy because he always gets fired from a new job every episode. and Caitlin because she works at The Big Squeeze or the lemon. some of my favorites moments include, Jude playing SImu-Mall. Jonesy working as Pokey The Panda. and THe man-off challenge.

6teen is Canadian Sitcom that ran on Teletoon in Canada From November 7th, 2004 - February 11th, 2010 with 4 Seasons & 93 Episodes. The show was Shown on Nickelodeon From December 18th, 2005 -May 13th, 2006 and Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2011. The Show is about six teenage named Jude, Jonesy, Wyatt, Caitlin, Jen and Nikki and their Misadventures in the Mall. My Favorite Episode of 6teen was "The Sushi Connection" were Caitlin wanted to go on date with a cute guy. I really enjoyed this when was it on Cartoon Network back in November 2008. Anyway I give 6teen a 10 out 10 stars for being excellent. Anyway I'm GravityFalls2 and Have Nice Day. BYE.

Witty, smart, an all around great show, with substance. The fact that it is ALSO Canadian, only adds to it's +'s.
I'm over 30, and find watching this show with my children, enjoyable, and a complete riot. The character development is intricate, and the relationships perhaps the funniest aspect of the group.
The bonds, and incidents that this group of "kids" have formed, reminds me of my youth. Interestingly the dilemmas faced today are no different than the ones we faced 20 years ago... LOL
KEEP up the GREAT WORK!!! PS: I also catch some of the actors on Total Drama Island!!! Nice job there as well!!!

6teen is just awful and plain stupid. Its not fun or funny in the least bit. The computer animation they used to draw the characters look horrible. This show is meant for kids but many of the jokes and humor are mature and centered more around teens. This show stereotypes pretty much everything from jocks, goth girls, to girly girls. Its such a joke and its completely not how the life of sitoeens years old are. The thing that pisses me off the most is that the characters are all annoying and they cheese me off. Jude and Jonesy are so annoying its not even funny. Jude acts like a retard all the time and says really gay stuff, it gets old real fast. Jonesy is always possessed with girls and always trying to get them. He's a such a clown. Caitlin is also annoying.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch this garbage, its a waste of time and beyond awful.

The creators of this show obviously do not know teenage-life styles. They stereotype every subject in a crude, terrible manner such as nerds, Goths, girly girls, etc. This isn't a show for children, and thank God it doesn't air anymore, but the controversy of the inappropriate behaviour of language (or the female and male nudity included. Yes, this was meant to be kids' show) it was the fact that the animation is very, very poorly done. Using crappy methods of computer graphics, obviously showing how horrible animation is today. So this was basically a show that doesn't belong in any place, any where or any time.

This show also turned out better than I thought. At first, I questioned the time the six friends (Jonesy, Nikki, Jude, Wyatt, Jen, & Caitlin) spent at the mall. A little too much, if you ask me. In every single episode, 98% of the setting is at the mall.
But then again, this show still displays good humour without too many clichés, even surprising me, and I tend to look for clichés in new cartoons. The show is surprisingly funny.
However, some parts of the show can be inappropriate for younger children. I think that the G rating the show was given on Teletoon was too low.
In all, a very good show with plenty of humour, some romance, and surprise.

There's a lot of vulgar humor in this series, and it hasn't aged well in 2021, but if you can overlook this, 6Teen is a genuinely heartfelt, well-animated and clever series with a good story arc and plenty of character development. There are some well-placed pop culture references, a perfect balance of comedy and drama, funny reoccurring support characters, and it's distinctly, unabashedly Canadian, which is nice to see. The sitcom-like plot, a gang of 6 teens at the local shopping mall, is simple and basic but still manages to work something new into the story. If you go into it viewing it as a period piece of y2k Canadiania, it works really well as an effective, nostalgic series, so much that there are times where it's easy to forget that it's a cartoon originally targeted towards kids.

6teen was a cool Teletoon show. It was one of the first shows for the visually impaired.
It was about teenagers getting into problems when at the mall. It had all your stereotypes including the 1 token.
Teletoon back in the day had some nice gems. Today there is nothing on to watch.
Verdict: A fun show to watch.

I grew up on 6teen. It's gotten me through some tough times in my life, no matter what I was going through I could find an episode of this show I could relate to and simply escape from my reality for a while. I've rewatched it on and off throughout the majority of my life since I was 9 years old, I'm 22 now and it honestly hasn't lost its touch.
6teen isn't really a kids show even though it's made out to be one. It's really more geared towards an older, coming of age audience and I'm constantly surprised at how relatable I still find it to be, it was ahead of its time. It has all the typical teenage show tropes: dating, breakups, getting your first job, fighting, making up, etc., but manages to use these and give them an original twist that manages to blend hints of absurd surrealism with subtle, more mature humor. I think this is what makes 6teen so fun and contemplating to watch even as an adult.
Now with a lot more life experience under my belt compared to when I first started watching this show, I like to rewatch 6teen and not only reminisce about my teenage years, but also compare and contrast the events of my life to the wacky scenarios in the show. My favorite is the fact that I ended up working part-time in a clothing store, and I despised it just like Nikki does.
I'd recommend this show to anyone, but especially to teens and those in between the ages of 14-25, because you will definitely relate to the coming of age events that 6teen portrays.
