It felt great to be back on Southfork....

This was a very emotional reunion. It featured stars from the show discussing the shows history. It showed footage, that had never been seen by the general public.

It was really great to see Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and gang all dressed up in their Dallas gear. They showed Southfork as it is today. They also brought several fans together for a "Oil Barrons Ball", where they answered some of the fan's questions.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see Victoria Principal join the cast for this reunion. It made it all the more special. It gave the show a very special edge.

It has always been my hope that they would make another Dallas movie. From the way the emotions ran high at this reunion, I would not say it is out of the question, but from a reality stand point...I am not sure it is really in the cards. We may have to settle for this reunion as the last time we see the gang together like this.

Unfortunately the apple cart was turned over, when news previews released the fact that Howard Keel (Clayton Farlow) passed away from colon cancer. He was a great actor, singer, and much more. He will truly missed. It was very sad that on the very day Dallas was honored, one of the greats from the show passed on.

In closing, I have to tip my 10 gallon hat at cast and crew of Dallas. All I can say is..."It felt great to be back on Southfork again!!"

Good to be back on the ranch

"Dallas" was one of my favorite TV shows growing up. I started watching as a kid a year after the whole "Who Shot J.R.?" hysteria and continued watching until the show went off the air. It was wonderful seeing the original cast all together again, reminiscing about the show and their own personal memories. I was really happy that almost all the original cast was involved, especially Victoria Principal who has shied away from a return to the show after she left and didn't participate in the series' final episode or the two subsequent reunion movies. Seeing Victoria back together with the cast, especially Patrick Duffy was awesome, especially when she and Patrick reminisced about whole special Pam and Bobby's relationship was. Bobby & Pam truly were the Romeo & Juliet of Dallas and their chemistry was still present some 26 years later. The added bonus of Mary Crosby was really cool too. Although there were a lot of other "Dallas" castmembers who could have been included, Mary Crosby fit right in with the original cast and her presence felt justified considering it was her character that shot J.R. and literally catapulted the show into a phenomenon. Although it was sad that Howard Keel passed away the same day the special aired and Barbara Bel Geddes, who's retired chose not to participate, I think the special felt complete, especially when the cast remembered the late Jim Davis and also Barbara, who sent a lovely telegram. I will always love "Dallas" and this was a great special that honored that show. Hopefully, a new generation of fans will come to love the show as much as I do now that it's available on DVD and reruns continue to air on cable.

Dallas puts me in Oil Heaven

It was a real joy and pleasure to be back on Southfork with the Ewing Family. The highlights from the cliffhangers beginning and ending, as well as the intertwining the bloopers and practical jokes made for a very entertaining evening. The beginning of the show with JR arriving by helicopter was very majestic looking with the Ewing Oil Logo on the side. Jr, Bobby, Pam, Cliff, Ray, Sue Ellen and Lucy. My wife told me that I was in Hog Heaven, it was more like Oil Heaven. One of the single greatest shows ever produced, and JR Ewing was by far the most interesting and complex character that TV has produced. I think that one of the biggest failures in TV was a failure to give Larry Hagman an Emmy for his portrayal. No one else could have played that character. I wonder how they decided on which fans to invite. I still have most of the episodes on tape. I named my first born son after Patrick Duffy, I even located the real Ewing Oil company. I always thought that I was the biggest fan. My brother first told me about the show in 1978, to me it was like a modern day western, with western music to boot. Jim Davis was a favorite Western actor of mine for many years before Dallas, I thought that he was perfect in the roll. All of the characters were superbly cast, including the supporting characters. They really were not mentioned the other night, but they definitely added weight to the show. All of the characters seemed to have aged a great deal, with the exceptions being Linda Gray and Victoria Principal, they have aged very well. The show still gives me goosebumps after all these years.

    A joy to watch

Very well done, with lots of clips and comments from original cast members, who display genuine affection for each other. Larry Hagman keeps the whole thing rolling along, introducing new segments and clips, slipping in and out of his beloved "J.R." persona. Great use of the original Southfork property as a backdrop. Nice reminiscences among cast members, in addition to answering audience questions. A few good surprises, too, including practical jokes, Hagman's home movies and some bloopers caught on tape! Included throughout is a count-down of fans ten favorite cliff-hanger episodes, with next season's resolution following. A very satisfying look back at one of television's best nighttime soap operas! A must for any true "Dallas" fan.
