"To describe it (Fahrenheit 9/11) as an exercise in facile crowd-pleasing would be too obvious." What makes "free-thinkers" so convinced that they can't trust anyone of political sway except Michael Moore? That this man should be somehow exempt from the nature of leftist skepticism is grossly hypocritical--how can we believe that everyone has a corrupt capitalistic or political agenda except him? Leftist skepticism itself brandishes a highly learned attitude toward social stance, yet sponging ideas from user friendly informational mediums such as Moore documentaries is by no means an unbiased source. Furthermore, liberalism by description is supposed to define a spirit of tolerance--not the brand of embittered tolerance so common today, which both demands that everyone share its stance while contradicting its own sensibility. Neutrality that demands that everyone else be neutral is not true neutrality.
I just came back from the theater after seeing this film on its
second day of showing. It is a very good movie that concisely
details why modern conservative philosophy dwarfs that of
contemporary liberalism, which has become virtually indistinguishable from Leftism.
After logging on to IMDb.com, I was not very surprised to find
15 reviews already posted, and many of the bad reviews came
from people who haven't seen the film, and 219 votes cast with an
average of 3.1. These ratings and reviews say much more about
the modern American Left than it does about the film. In the film
Chetwynd shows clips of antiwar protesters. They are a good
representation of the today's Left: mean, hate-filled, pompous and
narcissistic. And when they have no coherent arguments to bolster
their bigoted ideas, they do what all reactionaries do, resort to
name calling and, eventually, violence. After all, they are so much
smarter than us ordinary people. And what would we ever do
without them to tell us how moronic we and our president are?
As this movie points out, it is in fact Al Gore and the corrupt
Democratic party that attempted to steal the 2000 election. Michael
Moore has a habit of saying he feels bad for "stupid white men",
and even John McCain, because they don't understand that they
are on their way out, but it is the hate-filled Left that needs pity.
Although they would like it to be different, it is ordinary Americans,
not the university or Hollywood elite, who decide who will be the
President of The United States of America. And though Michael
Moore runs around in his t-shirt and baseball cap, and his phony
working class hero routine, claiming to speak for the American
people, he doesn't. He speaks instead for those who hate this
country and have only contempt for the ordinary people who will
vote George Bush in as president once again in a week and a half,
despite the attempts of the "we know better" Left to steal this
election too.
In this film several of those interviewed talked of George
Bush's belief in American exceptionalism. But this kind of talk only
irritates and even enrages those who hate and have contempt for
the values of middle America and its belief in American
exceptionalism. The elite in this country would prefer that we
dispense with heartland values and replace them with the smug
indifference of Western Europe, and the pretentious elitism of
Hollywood blowhards, like Michael Moore.
Unfortunately for those who try to diminish the power of this film
by stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent votes, there is a paradigm
shift afoot, and they are living in the world of yesterday, where they
could pretend to advocate great ideas like human rights while
doing little or nothing to help those dying in torture chambers and
those stuffed into mass graves. The truth comes out eventually
and the time has come, thanks in large part to George Bush, when
all with open minds can see clearly who really cares about the
oppressed in this world. The shift is occurring before our eyes,
and the American Left has nothing left to convince America of the
validity of their failed ideas. They have already compared George
Bush to Hitler and have said he stole the Presidency. What do they
have left? There is nothing more they can say or offer, accept vitriol
and defeatism. The only way they can win is to stuff the ballot box
like they have done on this site. Why? Because they don't trust the
American people to make up their minds for themselves.
With the help of films like this one, and the persistence of
George Bush, the lies of the hate-filled Left will be uncovered, one
by one, until those who promote those lies will be exposed for
what they are, nihilists who hate the values that America
represents, and can be found on any coin, "Liberty", "E Pluribus
Unum", and "In God We Trust".
"Celsius 41.11" is just one more nail in the coffin of the bad
ideas of Leftism. Leftist reactionaries are trying to hold back the
tide, but it is too late. I would advise Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson
and Michael Moore, in a last ditch effort to hold off progress, to
stuff themselves into Moore's limousine and barnstorm middle
America on behalf of John Kerry, pontificating to the people they
view as simpletons, about the evils of George Bush and the
America he represents. That should seal his fate and the fate of
the reactionary Left in this country. Then maybe the adults in the
Democratic party will come to their senses and make it the party of
Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman again, rather than the party
of Michael Moore.

I just saw this movie and my God is it bad.... at least Michael Moore can be funny. It's not concerned with the truth, it's just concerned with responding in some scare-tactic way to Michael Moore -- another reason why conservatives really ARE scared stiff of this maverick filmmaker. Pure crap from beginning to end... and I find liberals annoying. It's not only that the "film" (I hesitate to call it that) reeks of right wing propaganda, it's also the fact that the director, quite frankly, has zero talent. At least Moore makes you care, this film makes you puke and ashamed to be an American. Anyone who finds merit in this film also finds merit in Nazi propaganda...
I am always a little suspicious when I see a movie or book title that is obviously a rip-off of a successful or well-known work. That said, this "movie" isn't too bad. Being a person that leans towards the right side of the aisle, this is not arousing any great negative emotion. The commentators are mainstream conservatives (no black-helicopter-warning kooks). Some of the points of view given are ones that have occurred to me, but have not received much mention in other media.
While F911 is the liberal equivalent of Falwell's "The Clinton Chronicles", C41.11 falls short of hysteria. That said, liberals are still going to hate it, because of the points of view given.
Worth the time to watch if someone loans it to you. I would probably not buy it.

I find it interesting to read people spewing hate at liberals while talking about how liberals spew hate. September 11 should have been about togetherness and peace. Everyone in the world considered themselves Americans that day and felt our pain. Instead it has been distorted into something else. The United States has not been more divided or less respected in the world in my lifetime. People on the left and the right are at each other's throats. I do consider myself liberal, and I enjoyed this movie as a response to Fahrenheit 911. It is important for me to see what conservatives think. I do not feel degrading anyone's point of view is pertanent to this argument.
